- 15 years ago it was an Avro that performed our very first flight. On 28 October 2017 our OO-DWD flew the very last commercial Avro flight for us... Brussels Airlines will miss you, Jumbolino!

Letting planes go can be like putting down or dealing with the death of a pet, it is sad.
That feeling might not be much but for airlines having that plane fly for quite some time is sad to see them retiring them

I've worked as a ground crew at an airport which served these very planes, it was always a bit special to call four engines to start up during pushback. Also it didn't need an air starter to start up if the apu was inop, which is always a plus, and in the morning it was the only plane we were permitted to open ourselves, without waiting for the crew.
I especially remember seeing one in the taxyline coming towards us, and right behind it was an antonov an-124, it was like watching a baby in the front and a big dad in the back.
Ah... memories.

Avro itself is much older... They built planes in WW2, especially in Canada. As well as the infamous Avro arrow

I remember seeing that Boeing 146 plane flying with not only with Brussels airlines bur also with British airways flying out of Birmingham international airport some 18 years ago

Brussels Airlines got the avro 85 and 100 and also a BAe146, it was a plane from a Waloon regional airline Air Meuse(DAT Wallonie SA); Air Meuse was having only 1 airplane
its sad to see object shows end, movies stop producing and literally every pokemon anime ending, but i have never been sad seeing a plane stop flying

I remember flying on it just once here in the Philippines with Asian Spirit when i was 10. And now its gone. I like the small plane with the 4 jet engines. Its unique on its own way.

letting planes go is kinda like the death of a family member who you allways have had good times with . and share your most memerable moments . wether that be your first bikeing trip . your first boat ride . its all sad .
I know airlines dont feel this but people who have had good times on these jets do .
i can say the same for united , delta and americans soon retirement of the boeing 757 and boeing 777.

This is a British Aerospace 146. It’s a dying breed of aircraft when used for passengers.
It’s still used by a fortune of air freight companies for short hall flights. It’s just not practical for passengers anymore.
