Easiest way : fluffy pal bed + high quality hot spring(at least 2) + baked berries(or jam-filled bun better) Been 90+ days and my pals never got any problem
this is basically what I do. I monitor them. see if they are doing unneccessary jobs When I am in base I will throw my electric pal on me at the generator to give who ever I have working it break. But baked berries works fine. The problems come from when they get stuck. usually the spawn or glitch outside my walls and can't get back in. some of the bigger guys like to glitch into the ground. Every time i go to the base I see if I any one is hungry and reset them in the pal box.
The Pals starving, getting depressed, and injured while you're logged out is a known dedicated server issue. Only the last tip will help with this. Other things you can do to help with this is to not quick-travel or log out from your base. On a dedicated server, when you instantly leave your base area, something happens that glitches your pals. Last, if the server crashes, then all bases glitch out, and you need to travel to each base quickly to reactivate them.
there is no way to "avoid" pal depression and injuries (at least for online mode) as pals will not eat while you are offline and will start starving which will lead to depression. It's something pal devs need to fix.
Part of the issue, at least if you play on a server (dedicated server) is there is a bug where the Pals get rest to around the Palbox at restarts etc. Until that bug is sorted, there is only so much that can be done to keep your Pals in good shape.
Your pizza slot 1, baked berries slot 2 in the feed box doesn't make sense to me. Once you run out of pizza, a few seconds go by and slot 1 gets replaced with an item you are growing, like wheat. Your baked berries in slot 2 won't be touched much at all, they will rot down. So does it make more sense to have one food slot 1 with high SAN and nutrition (like pizza or salad) and make all the other slots cotton candy. This prevents your farm food you are growing from being put in slot 1 and eaten. If you run out of slot 1, I would rather them eat cotton candy vs. my ingredients for cake. This set up will also alarm you when you need to fill slot 1 with more pizza or salad. Cotton candy while having 5 SAN has low nutrition. So your pal box will alert you through temporary negative effects on pals when they arn't getting the nutrition they need, instead of having to check all your feed boxes periodically and avoids micro managing. I'm relatively new to the game but I think this is more efficient. Thx for the video. ❤
People keep saying the pals will eat the leftmost slot first. If that's the case how does my cake keep going missing from the fridge when it's in a much further slot and not the food basket they're supposed to eat from??? So annoying aaa I finally am able to make the breeding farm so I can put the cake in the box there but I'm so mad my pals keep eating my cakes, not to mention my wheat when they're supposed to be eating berries like I wanted
So what might be happening is your fridge isn’t cooling! I only use the ice hedge hog any other ice guy I use gets distracted doing other things around base where as the ice head hog only can do ice stuff

Mine eat berries and they will deal with it. To be fair I only have about 15 hours into it and I was mostly exploring. I have about 30 teleport locations unlocked and I have collected about 55 Pals and seen about 70. I am level 20 but my base is at where you first start and I can proudly say it looks hideous. Its a random bullshit go and some how works. my bed has a back wall and a flat roof that is 1 square. Its an open style. I have about 12 Pals working at the base. Have not fought the first human boss. I have been doing my own style.
I want only food that they are going to make ingredients for. I don't want to have to around killing things for meat. That is more work than it's worth.
If you want your content to be taken seriously you might want do a script, and some research. Tip 4 was a hot mess; Masochist doesn't affect work speed, Musclehead does. 5-15 minutes of prep work to put examples of the traits in a separate tab to show.

Same happened to me. I think it goes off really quickly unless you store it in the sex pen.
