Thank you, Fr Mike, for letting me re-think what my greatest win should be - that is, while alive, to see my husband and children, family friends and relatives (and everyone), be convicted, converted and committed to be faithful followers of the Catholic Faith; and when I die, to see us all together in heaven with God. This I pray ... Amen.
Thank you father Mike. You’re wise beyond your years. You have a way of breaking things down that just soothes my Heart and makes me so grateful to belong to such a graceful and kind God.
Thank you Father. Your homilies are so rich and moving. Thank you for sharing your love for Jesus so deeply. Listen to the Bible in a year and LOVED it now I’m doing catechism in a year. Loving it.🙏✝️
My greatest win is seeing what incredible Mom’s my daughters have become. But it also gives me so much sadness that their Mom is not here to witness it as we lost her 9 years ago from cancer. My daughters are an amazing testament to their Mom.
I know that God knows what I'm going through bc I get answers through Fr Mike's sermons. I find myself in awe of God's way of reaching out to all of us. Thank you Fr Mike. You just don't know how much you help.
Me too! God always answers me through him! He is a true gift from God! He is one big reason I have such a close relationship with Jesus now! I pray for Father Mike all the time. 🙏🏻

I turn 70 in 56 days, still working as a physician and teaching and sharing my faith. Thank you, Father Mike, for also addressing the time when that no longer happens. To look back and say Thank you, Jesus, for letting me get into Georgetown Medical School, for my wife and children who lived with my long hours, but especially looking forward to "Nothing but you, Lord" future that compares little to the past.
Good on you!! The response of Thomas Aquinas was cited by Bishop Barron as his ‘slogan’ ( not correct term) in latin for his mission as a Bishop -so beautiful!!
Thank you Father Mike, you give me hope and keep reminding me of God’s eternal Mercy. Thank you for sharing your faith and wisdom. Currently reading Made for Love, thank you for your encouragement.
I delivered a devotional message this last Tuesday morning as our private Christian school met to kick off the staff and faculty's school year. I spoke about how vulnerable we are after a big victory or just before embarking on a significant task. I have struggled this week, after that small but meaningful experience. And I struggle to find ways in which the Lord wants to speak to me, to love me, and to give me a meaningful win in my own depression. And you, Fr. Mike, give this homily using the vulnerability story, the word "win," and have spoken to me, a Protestant who is continually discerning both the unity of the whole church and the possibility God would call me to the Catholic expression of our faith. What a meaningful word that I receive as from the Lord. Grateful again for you and Ascension. And, blessed by the Lord's words to me.
We will never get tired of hearing you speak Father Mike! You will continue to help bring people to God far after you and I are gone. You are a gift from God!
Lord, thank you for journeying with me, for all your blessings and graces. What's my great achievement - to be with you, to receive and welcome you, you provided me with my daily bread, to share you with others, hoping to bring at least one person to know you My deepest desire is to spend eternity with you, My Lord and My God ❤ Thank you Lord for the gift of Father Mike Schmitz, my Parish Priests and formator, they are your instruments to mold me to be a better person My Lord and My God I Trust in You 🙏
Absolutely loved this! Thank you for your relatability and words of wisdom. It brings a sense of peace and calmness when I watch your homilies. God Bless 🙏
Please pray for celebrities who feel they must do anything to say relevant. Please, Jesus, remind them that only God will fulfill, not fame or money. Amen.
Today is best day of my life I’m grateful to have this day Greatest goal to be present with our Lord 24/7 surrendering everything of this world to him and everyone children, husband, friends, family, strangers, health, money, security, And For them to know this Love of Our Lord every single one of them❤🙏🏼
For me...the Win is heaven as St Paul said...the eternal crown. So always I am servant of the Lord..."Master now what you want me to do for you?" Nothing else but wait for God to tell me...☺️🐦
Wow! Mind and Spirit medicine.. I have so prayed for these words. I am a nurse for over 30 yrs. I remember the day a nun placed that joy of serving people and doing Gods work. A twofer! Win win. Now I thinking of retirement and those exact words .. now what? So yesterday at mass I asked Him. I’m a planner so the anxiety is almost overwhelming. Now I have food for the journey. Thank you for speaking that message.
I have never been so seen. I retired and the past 2 years I've been "detransitioning". It's not for the weak but my win is exactly what Fr. Is saying right here.
Thank you for such an insightful homily. Your words regarding prayer (even when you don't feel like it) reaffirms for me to keep going during dry seasons.
It is such an amazing blessing that you are able to make events in the Bible so relevant to events happening today!. What is a win in our daily life? This helped me.
My win is knowing that my job is not the be all. I am in a crossroad in finding out what I want to do and I am in an incredible position to find out. But I want to know Jesus and God more in the process
Please continue with sharing online. Your reflections have helped me in so many occasions. May our good Lord continue to bless and inspire you so you can continue to be a blessing to many 🙏
Wow. I am doing BIAY this year. We passed the stories of Elijah and Elisha, and I felt like I just didn’t sit with it enough. I didn’t understand it. For whatever reason, I wasn’t absorbing it. I kept thinking, “I have to go back and revisit that. I have to do more research, and I just have t found the time when I could be still enough to listen. God must have heard my prayer/concern and said, “okay. I’ll explain it again.” 😊 and from the same source! 😂 thank you, Fr. Mike!
Thanks for sharing your ministry. I am a cradle catholic at 70, and find your teachings very inspiring. Keep up the good work. Jerome Manhattan Ks., also a university town.
Fr Mike you remind me of St Thomas: Creator of all things, true source of light and wisdom, origin of all being, graciously let a ray of Your light penetrate the darkness of my understanding. Take from me the double darkness in which I have been born, an obscurity of sin and ignorance! Give me a keen understanding, a retentive memory, and the ability to grasp things correctly and fundamentally! Grant me the talent of being exact in my explanations and the ability to express myself with thoroughness and charm and wit! Point out the beginning, direct the progress, and help in the completion. I ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen❤🙏❤
Thank you Fr. Mike. Every Sunday sermon gives me something to examine and try to put in practice in the following week. I live in Guatemala - where I hope I can get you to come again, someday soon. I pray for you every day. May God make you the kind of saint we place right next to the altar.
Third time listening to this, it is SO amazing... 😮☺️🙂↕️ [roots around in digital purse for digital wallet...😁👍] God Bless You, who are seeing this!!🌬️💨💙❣️🙏
You always have something important to say and make the Gospel so relevant. I wish you could promote the Bible in a Year sometimes! I’m a big fan and have done the journey once. I am going to do it again!
"No" I've brought shame and embarrassment to my family, caused others to sin. I worry about not winning Jesus after this life. He has the power to transform lives that surrender to him, yet my life is a mess and I don't see alot of fruit in my life.
Philippians 3, especially v. 7,8: But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ...I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ.

I don't think we wanted to win so much as we wanted people not to fail us, It's like we had swapped the win for the hope of the people wouldn't lose wouldn't fail us,
Everything is proportional.... america is populous & has $$$, so proportionally will have more medals if their athletes are relatively good.... kudos to all that were able to compete
Well he could tell the young people, they could think about different degrees they might want, draw it on a blackboard with chalk will help their brain better,
Michael Phelps is phenomenal to be sure but I think his medal total is a bit misleading. There are other phenomenal athletes in other sports that have fewer medal opportunities each Olympics so they cannot do anything close to him in the medal count simply because they don’t have as many opportunities to medal. But why should it matter?
Jesus will point us to God’s glory forever: In JOhn 10:38, Jesus said “though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that *_the Father is in me, and I in him.”_* It is the Lord God that possesses Jesus. In John 14:10, only God’s power and spirit within Jesus does all things. In Matthew 12:28, Jesus said he cast out demons by God’s spirit, not of his own spirit. In John 7:16-18, Jesus professes that none of his teachings are of himself. In John 8:28, Jesus states that he only does what the Father has taught him. Jesus is the way, truth, and life that leads to the one true God, his Father and OUR Father. Amen.
