    My personal favourite thing about the oni trilogy (specifically sons of garmadon) is that it focused on ninjago city, usually ninjago would focus more on nature scenery, making sons of garmadon my top 3 favourite seasons 😀

      for real, thats a really great point. It really highlighted the city, reminds me of Tokyo from the nightlife and billboards; was so visually stunning ngl. Wish we get to see more of it in Ninjago Dragons Rising

      That’s something I really enjoyed and still enjoy. The palace, Mystake’s tea shop, Garmadons destruction & the colossus, and the colors of the animation. Dragons rising has great animation and colors, but there’s something about the oni trilogy I wish would’ve stayed.
      Garmadons reign was exactly to prevent the oni from crossing over. That’s another reason I think he didn’t kill Lloyd. In episode 83 he was very back and forth but still went to the extent.
      Or we could look at episodes 20-21 from Crystalized. Christofern was another reference but this time to Lloyd. Garmadon using Harumi to get under Lloyd’s skin in ep 21 wasn’t because he hates Lloyd or anything, but because it was the only thing that would’ve worked until episode 30. For him to say “I would have an easier time teaching dogs how to speak” then to drop every realm he had been to, only to say “harumi would’ve at least understood what I was saying” it’s just perfect

    Ye 100% agree green destiny is THE best ninjago episode no doubt. Top five for me would be green destiny, game of masks, dread on arrival, spellbound and corridor of elders. Not too hard to guess that the oni trilogy is my favourite ninjago either 😂😂 fire vid btw 🔥🔥

    I definitely agree with this! It is definitely one of the best episodes ever! This episode had so many important and mature themes yet had this almost nostalgic feeling about it. I loved it so much especially the parallels between this and the ending of SOG and the parallels between this and season 3 regarding the Art of the Silent Fist. And the cliffhanger was absolutely amazing! I remember the thousands of theories I had regarding March of the Oni from this one scene! Overall this episode was just so beautiful and the cinematography was amazing!

      I love season 1, it gets a lot of backlash but season 1 is top 8 seasons for me tbh, the dialogue in season 1 feels so legit, like it feels just like how you would speak in real life; that's what brought my attention forward; although the graphical style isnt that sharp, I adore season 1 to the fullest extent.

    I've been watching Ninjago for years and I still haven't seen a single bad episode in the Oni Trilogy. Even season 10 with 4 episodes is amazing, although it's a waste of potential. And I agree that Green Destiny is the best episode of Ninjago. It would have been even better if it had the kind of motion animation that seasons 11-DR have.

    • @JustACapCutGuy
      @JustACapCutGuy 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      the main reason i love this episode is the continuous and escalating tone of the story. the same tone of the story was in dr s2 p2 ep 10 but green destiny has another trump card why i love it is the ending. it is just perfect. i love that moment when garmadon reveals to lloyd that "this is not the end, they will come and leave nothing behind" leading us to season 10. Season 10 itself should have been the best season in Ninjago history, it had the greatest potential, but it was wasted. However, the season still turned out good

    • @OfficialNinjagoCentral
      @OfficialNinjagoCentral  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      yeah for real, the Oni trilogy has rarely any filler episodes, maybe only like a few moments in season 9 that where a bit filler; but every episode was peak... especially season 8; there's no other season that has ever beat season 8 in my personal opinion and I really think it's going to stay that way until the end of Ninjago. Same with Green Destiny, peak episode; peak emotions and story, the Garmadon fight, although not the best taught us a lot; some things I forgot to mention where his fabled quotes that he would come up with every once in a while like, "people don't change, they only reveal who they truly are.." - the Hageman brothers really cooked when writing this.

    • @JustACapCutGuy
      @JustACapCutGuy 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@OfficialNinjagoCentral The writers really did a great job on seasons 8-9. I especially like how the Oni Masks personify certain characters, like Garmadon and Harumi. For example, this is clearly expressed in Garmadon's quotes "I have played many roles, worn many masks, a father, a husband, a teacher, but I have returned only in one, the destroyer!" This quote also closely ties into his quote about "people don't change, they only learn who they were." This line continues in season 10, when Garmadon, after defeating the Oni, makes eye contact with Wu and leaves to follow his own path

    • @JustACapCutGuy
      @JustACapCutGuy 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@OfficialNinjagoCentral The masks also represent Harumi. Crystallized ruined her. I want write whole essay to prove how bad crystallized ruined her
      Harumi's return in itself would be tolerable if Crystallized continued her arc in seasons 8-9. Harumi's death itself not only became a tragedy for her, but also forced her to reconsider her views on her seemingly good mission to protect Ninjago. Back in the first season, when she was too little, she loved the Ninja and thought that these superheroes would protect her and her parents. The innocent child's mind soon faced a turning point in her life. The Great Devourer killed her parents and she was left an orphan. All her hopes, all her faith in the Ninja as superheroes who protect all of Ninjago, were shattered and destroyed, and with this she learned about a new savior, about the one who managed to stop the Devourer, and it was Garmadon. Any mature person in her place would have understood the whole situation, would have understood that the Ninja are not omnipresent and are not able to protect everyone at once, but her still immature, innocent and unformed child’s mind was unable to do this. It was a childhood trauma, a turning point in her life that radically changed the girl’s psyche. Harumi’s state is perfectly described by the three Oni Masks, and this state of the child is perfectly described by the mask of Hatred, which is where it all started. After being taken in by the Imperial Family, she began using her parents' resources and influence to create her own syndicate and search for powerful ancient artifacts. Garmadon became her object of study, since she believed that it was he who was the strong support and salvation of Ninjago from all possible threats, that it was he who would stop every danger and disaster without the risk of death of at least one innocent soul, and therefore she began to study the essence of Oni and Dragons. Having made a plan, she set about finding the Masks and recruiting the Ninja. After killing her adoptive parents, she began to become close to the Ninja and in particular Lloyd, whom she hated the most. This state of Harumi is perfectly described by the Mask of Deception. After revealing her true colors, she began her revenge on Lloyd and the revival of Garmadon as the trusted protector of all of Ninjago. This state is perfectly described by the Mask of Vengeance. In general, season 8 itself begins not with something else, but with masks, symbolizing that the heroes will have to figure out who is who. All this time they tried to remove the mask from the Silent One and see his true face, and when all the masks were removed, season 9 began with the masks broken and lying on the floor. This is just a brilliant detail from the writers

    • @JustACapCutGuy
      @JustACapCutGuy 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@OfficialNinjagoCentral After Garmadon's victory, Harumi, still blinded by her mission to protect Ninjago, tries to stop Garmadon from destroying the entire city and find Lloyd through more or less humane means, trying not to kill civilians, since she has no claims against them. On the contrary, she is trying to protect them all, so that no one dies like her parents, and so that no one remains orphaned like herself. However, after the death of Mr. E, she began to doubt a little about the correctness of her actions and about Garmadon himself as a reliable protector of Ninjago. However, after she found Garmadon in the Temple of Rebirth and heard from him a story about the Oni, who had already corrupted and began to slowly destroy the Realm of the Departed, she realized that only Garmadon could stop them, and that she would need to cling to him at all costs. and she did it perfectly. She began searching for Lloyd in order to give her new father more strength, but during a brawl about the control of the Colossus, she again began to doubt, and this time in Garmadon himself, as a reliable defender of his Realm. Having descended from the building, she began to observe an interesting picture. All this time, when she tried to bring safety to the people of Ninjago, she was in her illusions about the correctness of her actions, but when she saw the true picture of what was happening, a realization came to her. By her actions, trying to protect the people of Ninjago, she only destroyed more lives. By doing everything she could to prevent the situation that happened to her, she only created thousands of new situations. She contemplated the separation of parents from their children, exactly similar to the separation of her from her parents. Still with good intentions, she led the entire family safely out of the building, only to find herself locked out. In her last moments, she reaped the consequences of her good mission. It was at this moment that her illusion completely dissipated and she saw the true picture of what was happening. She probably still hated Lloyd, but at the same time she hated herself and left this world as an unhappy, still immature child. That's the beauty of this character. This is a child with an incompletely formed mind and critical thinking, who was faced too early with such a serious shock as the death of her parents, and in combination with many factors she became who she is. Even after dying, she was still a child (I think she was 16 years old at the time of seasons 8-9), with the same immature mind. And so, crystallized begins, in which at the beginning her arc about her mission to protect Ninjago continues, only this whole arc is just garbage, and this supposed redemption of Harumi for help against the Overlord is such garbage, because not only does it not redeem everything that what she did (including the lives she took) also contradicts all her views and principles, which were so skillfully and carefully built in seasons 8-9. This is truly the best villain in Ninjago history (after Garmadon), and if you don't take into account that garbage arc from crystallized, she can rival Garmadon, Lloyd and other very well written Ninjago characters. For me, she is the top 2 best character after Garmadon, not only for all the above reasons, but also because of her originality, and most importantly, her essence. This is a child, and a child with an amazing role, not counting her arc in Crystallized

    A very great episode, I only have one complaint and it's my complaint about the oni trilogy in general: No callbacks to anything that happened in earlier seasons. I'm okay with the design changes, actually S8/9 black eyed Lloyd is one of my favorite designs ever, but the way Lloyd acted throughout the trilogy was so... weird, it was always him who thought about the good in Garmadon but all of a sudden he's afraid of his return? It didn't make any sense and felt so wrong, and they missed A HUGE opportunity for a "Art of the Silent Fist" callback in Green Destiny, a few flashbacks from said episode and Lloyd completely inheriting his father's teachings would've been 🤯 (words aren't enough to describe it). It would've instantly been 90% of the community's favorite episode, and imagine Garmadon returns in S10 and they conclude the series for good, it would've been perfect. Well, it is what it is, it's still a great episode
    Edit: didn't realize I wrote all that 💀
