No other nintendo song gives me the goosebumps OoT Title Theme gives me. It sends me back to a very specific time in my childhood that none else can replicate.
For me, one of the best songs is the Ballad of the Godess. Chronologically saying, is the primal base for Zelda's lullaby and the two versions (the lyre and the orchestral ver.) are for me one of the best songs ever made.

That and it’s one of the first full orchestral songs players got to hear in the series. Pre-SS all of the tracks are MIDI files, Skyward Sword introduced the first sweeping over the top music that everyone wanted but Nintendo just couldn’t produce because of hardware limitations

It's fitting that WatchMojo decides to do a countdown of the greatest music from The Legend of Zelda series in the wake of countless gamers & gaming news sites calling on Nintendo to follow Square-Enix's brilliant example by launching their own game music channel here on TH-cam. Nintendo sure hates it when folks post music from their games online yet Nintendo themselves do nothing to make all their iconic game music & soundtracks widely available to all their fans to regularly listen to & enjoy in an official capacity. Get with the times already Nintendo.
@@ulengrau6357 Why should we give Nintendo break??? Don't get me wrong I love Nintendo as much as anyone. I been playing all their consoles & games my entire life. My very first console was The NES. Nintendo has always been a massive part of my life but some of the things they do these days are undeniably frustrating dude. As a game developer, Nintendo can do no wrong period but as a corporation, Nintendo is so frickin' backwards minded. Refusing to allow TH-camrs to talk about & review their games for a long time, forbidding gaming tournaments like EVO to feature Smash Bros in their lineup, certain games like Mario 3D All Stars & the long awaited US release of Fire Emblem 1 being limited time releases, aggressively hunting down emulations of their games & uploads of their game soundtracks but not caring one-bit about offering an official way to allow fans to play their enormous catalog of classic older games & listen regularly to all their iconic gaming music and not bothering to regularly update their Online service with long requested features that are still not present and not regularly adding new retro games with some of those aforementioned games being poorly emulated and than adding a whole 'nother subscription tier that is way overpriced to Online. Nintendo's games & consoles have always been & always will be of consistent top quality but their business practices are so infuriating.
@@DragonHeart613 Their "business practices" are what have kept them afloat for more than a hundred years. I mean... they used to produce sexy playing cards ffs! And trust me, they'll do whatever it takes to stay afloat, even if that means shifting their attention towards another industry. Something which I doubt all-time-fans like you would want. To expect Nintendo to play along with these other baby companies is naive. Can't you tell yet that they've always been leading the charge. They're the perfect example of a wave - one bad product, one great product, one bad product, one great, and so on. Meanwhile... Microsoft has tons of Series S it can't sell, Sony can't ship PS5s, BandaiNamco just released a rehashed Dark Souls game called Elden Ring, along with whatever other 15 anime fighting titles they'll release this year, ActivisionBlizzard has no fucking clue what to do with their in-office sexual assault culture, Sega is trying to stay afloat, and Bethesda keeps making promises for the year 2035. And I'm still enjoying the hell out of Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 DX, Smash Bros and Splatoon 2, because, quite honestly, for every yearly homerun Sony or Microsoft hit (what? God of War? Last of Us 2? Psychonauts 2?) Nintendo hits 5. And then they get a bunch of remakes. Nintendo may not announce all their business dealings the way others do, but this protection over their brand is also the reason they haven't yet turned into Sega... which was torn apart because they tried to let everyone in on the pie.
Skyward sword....I loved the soundtrack to that game esp song of the hero and ballad of the goddess. I loved when all the dragons came together to sing their part and it all came together; that scene was my favorite. I also like Linebecks theme and the hidden village theme in twilight princess.
I knew it was gona be on the list, but the moment Fi's farewell started playing, I teared up a bit with both sadness & happiness due to how much I love this some & that shes my favorite companion!
I like Saria's Song from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Saria's Song is also played in Super Smash Bros Melee as an alternative music for the Great Bay stage because it is Young Link's favorite theme song.
Zora's Domain, Riverside from Tri Force Heroes, Face Shrine from Link's Awakening remake and Palace/Temple theme from Zelda 2 would be great additions to the list.
The peak of BotW's main theme has been the default ringtone on my phone since the game first released. I don't plan on changing it any time soon, either. It's by far my favorite theme from any individual Zelda title. The fact it's so early in this list is criminal.
Ocarina main theme is so encapsulating for the entire series listening to it brings me flash backs of not just Zelda games but games as a medium it’s weird cause I’ve felt this way before I even played the game so it’s not like I have nostalgic feelings over it it’s strange honestly. To think one little theme without any attachment is so monumental to me.
Not a fan of what most ppl consider classics like Midna's lament, Song of Healing, Zelda's lullaby and OOT Title Theme. Anyways, here's my top 20: 20. BOTW Main Theme 19. Saria's Song 18. Tal-Tal Heights 17. Age of Calamity Main Theme 16. Majora's Mask End Credits 15. Twilight Princess Hidden Village 14. Four Swords Title theme 13. Song of Storms 12. Molgera Battle from Wind Waker 11. Romance in the Air 10. Dragon Roost Island 9. Skyward Sword Staff Roll 8. Majora's Mask Staff Roll 7. Spirit Tracks In the Fields 6. Hyrule Castle Ext. from BOTW 5. Oracle of Ages/Seasons combined ending 4. Link's Awakening Staff Roll 3. Hilda's theme 2. Gerudo Valley 1. Wind Waker Main Title
They had Fi's noise in one of BotW memorys, I just hope that in BotW2(when we finnaly get it -_-), we get both Fi & Ghiraim with either their origional themes or remix's.
The Song of Healing is so beautiful. Seeing Darunia, who knowingly failed to save his people and family seeing all of his fellow Gorons cheering him on so he passes on knowing he was a hero was the only Zelda moment that gave me chills. Love Majoras Mask, such a masterpiece
For me, I would add Outset island from LoZ wind waker. I distinctly remember it’s happy tune at the beginning which got me back into playing the game after awhile
For me, my top song from Zelda (currently, this changes depending on my mood) is the Main Theme from Breath of the Wild, it captures so many emotions when it actually getting into the good part.
About Midna's Lament: It should be said that the music skillfully weaves Midna's previously more mischievous theme with the main overworld/game theme. Missing from the context is that the sudden crisis occurs just barely into when we're made to like the character after despising her for most of the beginning. So the soft, forlorn notes play on roller-coaster-ing emotions, both grounding them and amplifying them. Also, I'll join the chorus of people bemoaning the absence of Ballad of the Windfish, Ballad of the Goddess, and Twilight Princess's Hyrule Field. And does anyone recall the fairy-themed classical piece from which the opening harp strings of Fairy Fountain comes?
Saving Midna in Twilight Princess was so memorable for me. Midnas Lament really added to the atmosphere of the moment. All that was going through my mind was I gotta to save Midna lol
You guys should have picked the Credits song over the title song for Wind Waker. It's more complete, with excepts from Zelda lullaby, the great sea and Aryll's theme; along with the sages themes.
One of my favorites that is easily forgotten because it only comes on once is the song from BOTW when you have to guide Yunobo up Death Mountain on your way to Vah Rudania. It's so scary and really helps to set the mood.
Farewell Hyrule King (or the variant A King's Request) should be on this list. The melancholic tone really makes the king's final words truly grasp onto you.
song of healing is probably one of my favorite because of how perfect it fits with the theme of majora's mask. it has something scary, but still soothing and nice in it. the idea of healing evil magic and troubled spirits fits perfect by the soothing part. hyrule field in TP is the best though. it makes me want to explore the field 24/7
Gerudo Valley (OoT) is my absolute favorite. I listen to various variations of it while driving car, doing sports or anything else, especially the version from the 25th anniversary CD
I must admit that the game that makes me the most nostalgic is Wind Waker... I just remember spending endless hours wandering in the sea while listening to the amazing music 😭. Thanks for this video! Some memories within me have been unlocked, lol
Two of my favorites from Ocarina Of Time were on your list: Song Of Storms and Gerudo Valley. However, I had a third that I loved -- Lon Lon Ranch. That wasn't on your list, but I wanted to mention it.
I'm surprised Kass theme is not here? Is it only me that likes this song? It's incredible we'll made has the best notes and a unique masterpiece. Why didn't you guys include it
Koji Kondo would listen to his own work for hours just to ensure it wouldn't bore the people playing. I enjoy the soundtracks of the games he was in charge of by and large for that reason, because it's held true for every one. No matter how long I spend in any one area, the music will never come close to feeling dull or repetitive because he took such measures to ensure we could enjoy it for as long as we wanted.
Midna's Lament is to this day one of my all time favorite songs from any game. I feeling I got of playing Twilight Princess for the first time hearing that theme. It took me away from the outside world for those moments and truly struck a cord with me. It is truly a masterpiece for the darker theme that Twilight Princess had
I feel like final hours from majoras mask is a great one. It gives off such an amazingly grim vibe in the last hours before the moon comes crashing down. Really sets the mood that the end is near.

Between copyright infringement laws being responsible for the constant audio clipping, how much louder this guy’s voice is than the music, and the ads…. watching this video was like going up Death Mountain during an eruption while trying to simultaneously avoid volleys from octoroks and deku shrubs… while BOTH Navi and Fi constantly call your attention to something.
imo scarecrow song should have been #1
The mix is fine.
Did not know about the Wind Waker main theme being a compilation of the sage songs… well done WatchMojo
I honestly can’t put together a list without leaving out some amazing songs. They’re all so good in the series.
Zelda's lullaby is not only my favorite zelda song but one of my favorite video games songs ever
Miphas theme from botw is one of my favs. This vid really shows how Ocarina of time has one of the best game soundtracks
Ocarina of times fairy fountain track has to be one of the greatest melodies of all time
Glad to see stone tower temple make this list. Not many others do. I am, however, disappointed that Forest Temple theme (Oot) or Hidden Vilksge theme (TP) didn’t make your list.
I shall review each in five or fewer words, and no spoilers, I promise.
20. Not bad.

Nintendo is like a 150yo company. They’ve been getting with the times more often than the Roman Catholic Church. Lol give ‘em a break.
I would of given geurudo valley top 5 because of how much it slaps😊
Ballad of the Wind Fish doesn't even get a shout? Damn...........
face shrine and mabe village are also absentees which makes me sad.
Skyward sword....I loved the soundtrack to that game esp song of the hero and ballad of the goddess. I loved when all the dragons came together to sing their part and it all came together; that scene was my favorite. I also like Linebecks theme and the hidden village theme in twilight princess.
The Fairy Fountain’s music should a a lot higher. I love listing to it.
I knew it was gona be on the list, but the moment Fi's farewell started playing, I teared up a bit with both sadness & happiness due to how much I love this some & that shes my favorite companion!
Every time I got stuck in OoT, I played Salia's song to chill out.😅
Song of Storm is the #1 for me
Deku Palace from Majora's Mask is one of my favorites pieces, shame it wasn't on the list. Such a powerful tune
What about the Goron's Lullaby from Majora's Mask? In particular, the cutscene with the baby Goron singing & the bongos.
I think song of healing is my favorite song in the Zelda franchise
The peak of BotW's main theme has been the default ringtone on my phone since the game first released. I don't plan on changing it any time soon, either. It's by far my favorite theme from any individual Zelda title.
The fact it's so early in this list is criminal.
Good list!
Gotta give a shout out to Mabe Village from Link’s Awakening. It is a super underrated tune in my book
Anyways, here's my top 20:
20. BOTW Main Theme
19. Saria's Song
18. Tal-Tal Heights
17. Age of Calamity Main Theme
16. Majora's Mask End Credits
15. Twilight Princess Hidden Village
14. Four Swords Title theme
13. Song of Storms
12. Molgera Battle from Wind Waker
11. Romance in the Air
10. Dragon Roost Island
9. Skyward Sword Staff Roll
8. Majora's Mask Staff Roll
7. Spirit Tracks In the Fields
6. Hyrule Castle Ext. from BOTW
5. Oracle of Ages/Seasons combined ending
4. Link's Awakening Staff Roll
3. Hilda's theme
2. Gerudo Valley
1. Wind Waker Main Title
Please tell me I'm not the only one that loves ghirahim's theme, it's just so menacing when you first hear it you know you'll see him again
They had Fi's noise in one of BotW memorys, I just hope that in BotW2(when we finnaly get it -_-), we get both Fi & Ghiraim with either their origional themes or remix's.
You're not the only one.
This promises to be the greatest Zelda video yet
The Song of Healing is so beautiful. Seeing Darunia, who knowingly failed to save his people and family seeing all of his fellow Gorons cheering him on so he passes on knowing he was a hero was the only Zelda moment that gave me chills. Love Majoras Mask, such a masterpiece
The Midnas Lament and legend of Zelda main theme are my favorite themes and I also love the Gerudos theme
For me, I would add Outset island from LoZ wind waker. I distinctly remember it’s happy tune at the beginning which got me back into playing the game after awhile
Great choices! Dark world LttP, Midna Lament TP, Fi Theme Skyward Sword, & the OoT ones!
For me, my top song from Zelda (currently, this changes depending on my mood) is the Main Theme from Breath of the Wild, it captures so many emotions when it actually getting into the good part.
Forest Temple from OoT is the best for me
About Midna's Lament: It should be said that the music skillfully weaves Midna's previously more mischievous theme with the main overworld/game theme.
No honorable mention?
Sad that Windfish, Ballad of the Goddess and Kass's Song didn't mention.
You guys should have picked the Credits song over the title song for Wind Waker.
It's more complete, with excepts from Zelda lullaby, the great sea and Aryll's theme; along with the sages themes.
How did you guys not include the great sea theme from windwaker
One of my favorites that is easily forgotten because it only comes on once is the song from BOTW when you have to guide Yunobo up Death Mountain on your way to Vah Rudania. It's so scary and really helps to set the mood.
Farewell Hyrule King (or the variant A King's Request) should be on this list. The melancholic tone really makes the king's final words truly grasp onto you.
Twilight Princess kakariko village is one of my all time favourites.
Yoooooo dark word music is absolutely amazing! Good choice!
song of healing is probably one of my favorite because of how perfect it fits with the theme of majora's mask. it has something scary, but still soothing and nice in it. the idea of healing evil magic and troubled spirits fits perfect by the soothing part.
hyrule field in TP is the best though. it makes me want to explore the field 24/7
I almost turned it off after gerudu valley was only number 10.
My favorite zelda song is probably the ballad of the goddess
Two of my favorites from Ocarina Of Time were on your list: Song Of Storms and Gerudo Valley. However, I had a third that I loved -- Lon Lon Ranch. That wasn't on your list, but I wanted to mention it.
THANK YOU FOR INCLUDING SONG OF STORMS! It's legit my favorite Zelda track EVER!
THANK YOU FOR INCLUDING TAL TAL (And Calling it Mountain Range, not heights). My favourite theme in gaming
Of course it’s gonna be the main theme.
Excellent! Now top 20 Mario songs. Also my favourite is Inside the Deku Tree!
Lorule Castle Theme!! AMAZING! Favorite is the WW title
theme!
I feel like final hours from majoras mask is a great one. It gives off such an amazingly grim vibe in the last hours before the moon comes crashing down. Really sets the mood that the end is near.
