  • We love our birds but we can't see them destroying the house doors, walls, electrical wires, fridge gaskets, leaving their poop on the back of the TV and, most importantly, we are very very tired of cleaning their mess every day before going to bed. A solution to this was to build a large cage and make them feel like they are in their own space.
All the cages sold online are small, even though it says large, I don't believe that we can keep them locked up for very long in those cages.
Even with this large bird cage we build for them, we still take them out everyday for an hour and put them back while we are away.
However, if you would like to build the same cage, I can share with you the 2D drawing. Please feel free to comment if you have any questions.

I’d love to see the 2D drawing if possible. I’m a little confused where you used each size board but this looks fabulous and we would love to make one for our bird.

hey, your setup looks amazing!! word of caution, the wire mesh you used for the cage is made of zinc, and that's toxic for birds - it can cause heavy metal poisoning (zinc toxicosis) and be fatal, esp if your birds are making contact with it or putting their mouths on it. just wanted to let you know in case you didn't bc it seems like you love your birds a lot and as a fellow bird owner i know how devastating it can be if something happens 😵

Yes, that’s correct. My neighbour said the same thing and I was thinking about replacing them with stainless steel or acrylic sheets. Thanks for letting me know.

Amazing video. Could you please tell me the measurements of the wood you used? Thanks

What’s with your circular saws cutting depth?? 3 cuts required???

The depth of cut is 2-1/4" (6-1/2" blade), so 1 cut for 2" wood. I had to cut three times because the circular saw I used for this project is not the greatest; the moving blade is broken, so I managed to use it as is without adjusting it. Thanks for watching. Good Day!
