why are they copying apple so much as of late? I bought Samsung because I don't like iPhone. Makes no sense

That really sucks. I really like Samsung's current UI. I hope they at least give it their own personality aesthetically, but not holding my breath after hearing about the icons.

I agree with you, I don't like going in the apple direction. If I want apple ios I would go to apple.
That's exactly it why come to Samsung if you love apple and that's what they don't get this won't get new apple users.
No we wouldn't, I might want their smooth and beautiful UI without having to use their crappy iOS system

They won't. Like how OneUI 6 doesn't let you change top of notification panel (Wi-Fi and Bluetooth one)
@@jspring86 Everyone keeps saying how customizable Samsung phones are, but unlike other manufacturers, 90% of Samsung's customizations aren't even natively built into One UI. On top of that, Good Lock isn't available outside of the United States. It's truly pathetic!
It's 2024, and we still don't have a way to lock apps on Samsung phones using biometrics like in iOS 18. The notification shade in One UI 6 is less customizable than before and even less customizable than in iOS 18. At this point, I'm seriously considering ditching my S23 Ultra for an iPhone. At least Apple doesn't make changes simply for the sake of making them.

It's supposed to be available in goodlock next update though... but goodlock is not available in all samsung devices
I'm not going to believe these rumors until I actually see it on the phone.
I do like things being moved to the bottom, since it will make it easier for those of us who have bigger screens. It will be great for when I'm trying to take good pictures of my child who doesnt sit still lol However, I don't think i will like the look of it. I also do not like the fact that they are trying so hard to be like Apple. Its almost like the two companies should just make one phone together at this point.
I use nova launcher and i love having the option to have the serch bar at the botum

Love the customization.

I think as apple has learned much from samsung, samsung is trying to refine their phone to be more user friendly. I know for a fact many times i want a quick setting toggled i dont want to scroll through notifications to get to the quick panel. This change would benefit me if its made more accessible, but id hope its a toggle, like the corner screen swipe to access quick panel, instead of forced upon users. I dislike that they took away the old gestures (recents swipe, home swipe, back swipe) on the new one ui 6.1, leaving us only full screen gestures or the buttons (not swipe format).

Parts of this I like. I'm a big fan of aligning everything possible towards the bottom of the screen. I cried when Chrome dropped Duet. I'm the weirdo that pines for Android Honeycomb's unified navigation and notifications bar to make a return. So, I definitely approve of the camera app changes and relocation of the App Drawer Search Bar.
I also like the idea of the split notifications and quick settings. OneUI and stock Android have a two finger swipe gesture that bypasses the notifications in favor of opening the full expanded quick settings with one movement. I use it quite a bit, believe it or not. This seems like a more refined version of that functionality.
I really don't like that new Gallery icon. It looks like you described the Google Photos icon to someone over a WW2 era walkie-talkie. It's not good. I'll retract this criticism if Samsung makes the white part of the app icon switch to black with the Dark/Night Mode toggle.
That's one of my beefs with Google's recent redesign of their apps. Their app icons stay blinding white all the time. Yeah, just use Monet... Except I don't wanna use Monet to reskin my icons. I want the normal colorful icons, but with the white parts painted black after dark. At least Samsung's stock apps have a colorful background so they look right in every kind of light. Well, they did until now apparently.
I'm ambivalent about the rest of the changes listed. What I'm not ambivalent about is the knowledge I get from watching each and every Jeff Springer video! You always do a great job and I respect that immensely.

And this is the very reason I'm leaving samsung, I don't like Apple, now I don't like Samsung.

OneUI 7 is Samsung Users fault.
99% of Samsung User loved how OneUI 6 started to copy IOS and Samsung saw that.
I am still using OneUI 5 on my S23, and I won't update it to neither OneUI 6 nor 7.
Currently I'm looking a phone to change S23, but volte is a big problem the country I live in.
I won't buy Samsung again. If I wanted IOS experience I buy an IPhone, not a Samsung.
i have a s23 too. It's been a year and seeing these leaks i can't bother with samsung anymore. Why would I want a crappy ios clone at the price of an iPhone. No thanks! I already use an iPad. I hope I can sell my s23 and just get an iphone. One ui 7 isn't the only reason i want to get rid of this piece of garbage, the battery life is horrendous even with power saving fully on and light performance. It doesn't even hold charge till 14 o clock. I can't bother to not update my phone, because i have important stuff that needs to stay secure, and not updating isn't a way to stay like that... I don't really know what to do
I heard that samsung is finally give us real non linear animation
They need to do some type of patch from UI 6.1 as its wrecking havoc with my phone. Ive heard tons of people having issues with touch screen going dead unless its with s pen and apps and system crashing and mine freezes all the time. Ive even done a factory reset with 45gigs left for storage and still freezes so its not a storage thing. ?????
I dislike white app icon backgrounds. They should automatically change to black when dark mode is enabled.
One big reason I believe Samsung is going more in Apple’s direction, is the current Apple preference among much of the younger Korean demographic right now. For whatever reason many young Koreans are turning to Apple as a more luxury brand, Samsung is seeing the trend among the next generation and trying to figure out the formula that seems so loved by the new money.
That's where they are messing up, there is no formula. People are followers and want to have the "cool" phone. It's not about preference, they don't think for themselves. Samsung needs to double down and keep doing the things that made them great in the first place imo.

I don't like Apple at all, I've tried their phone and never again. Hopefully, we don't have to download 7.0, I'm not going to.
I agree that the changes seem to emulate Apple, and I also don't agree with this course of action. I think Samsung needs to instead double down on their refinement of software and quality control in their lineup, as shown with the poor quality construction of some of their flagship earbuds that I currently have on order, rather than trying to fix what's NOT broken! Just my thoughts.
I'm so happy to know that there are other people that just prefer the samsung, as opposed to ios

It's not if you copy but more how you copy. iOS 18 got Androidified and not 100% successfully. In turn Samsung should get notes by Apple but not copy paste everything

I think you will be able to easily revert it in good lock but it is still an awful default choice

Lets give Samsung a chance to rethink everything. I will never buy An Apple device. I love only the Samsung ecosystem. The customization and i think better overall software design and hardware designs that Samsung brings to the market are in my opinion are far better than Apple has. 😊

look at the iphone 16 pro max , a bigger battery and fastest charging from 27 watts to 40 watts .
the s25 ultra should have a 5500 mah battery and a 65 watts fastest charging .
When it comes out you guys will be like oh wow its cool.but you are here judging samsung for whats not yet out,what if they are wrong about that information or what if the new ui will look so much better
