- Yesterday, news came that a new Chopin waltz was discovered. As this is a short piece, I understand that it's more like a fragment.
You can read about the discovery and hear Lang Lang play the work below.

The origin for this recording is that an online forum member heard the above video and wondered if it sounded like Modern D, and they challenged me to learn this little fragment. So I did it yesterday in 90 minutes and played it by ear.
Using his settings on Modern D, I was able to create this performance. Enjoy!
Keyboard: Kawai VPC1, playing Modern D.
You can learn more about Modern D below:

Mics used: Hammers at -12.50, side at 0.00, room at -3.00; reverb setting is "Real Space Small/Nice Room" at -84.80; Stereo image is set to right-left. All other settings are at their defaults.
Am I the only one who enjoys this performance more than Lang Lang’s?
Wow, that's a high compliment, thank you!!! I do have to give credit to him, though, as his recording was indeed the very first of this waltz fragment, and I used it to learn the music.
Lovely performance man! Keep it up^^
I love this more than lang langs performance
a day old and you learned it that quick? extremely impressive lad
Thank you! Yes, it was partly encouraged by someone who wanted to hear it with the Modern D sample library. So I was challenged, haha.
@ Challenged yet flawlessly completed that challenge, you should be very proud of yourself! Have a good rest of your day
Omg!!!!🎉🎉 the new song
Dang, David! You learned that one fast. Nice rendition!
Thank you! :) Yeah, usually when I learn something quickly, I found that I also forgot fast. But this one somehow stuck, so to celebrate that, I decided to film me playing it. :) Thanks for watching!
Love your performance 😊
The best interpretation so far, perfectly executed.
Nice!
nice . i love to play this with modern D too :) . lovely sound and sensivity
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)
Are you langlang? Beautiful.
I'm not, I don't look like him either. But thanks for your appreciation!
now david 90 minutes to learn the new waltz…. Are you sure there’s not some AI involved here? Is that really you sitting next to the piano?❤️❤️❤️
I can assure you, David, that it's all human effort. At first, I thought "the quicker I learn, the faster I forget." But surprisingly, the piece stayed with me today. So in celebration that I remembered it, I decided to make this video. Plus, why not ride the Chopin wave inspired by both pianist Lang Lang and the fact this manuscript was found in the Morgan Library?
