This was the first time that bagpipes weren't an assault on my ears. In America they play at too high pitches, and oft inordinately loud. These pipes were well done !
I have to say, what the NZ Army Band Drum Major said near the end, "if you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours" was a perfect sentiment in this day and age. There's too much hate in the world, we need more people like him.
As a boy born in California. what is it in my DNA that brings tears to my eyes when I hear the pipes chanting Scotland the Brave. Raised from the age of 4 by a Wallace Grandmother from Ayr. Pro Libertate!
God ...me too. My DNA is Scots/Irish/ English. My heart and DNA seems to be dialed in to the pipes drums and the Irish dance. I can't explain it. I think it must be genetic. It calls me to the marrow of my bones. Always has. I'm 62!
I'm an 11th gen American but my ancestors is Munro. When I see and hear my pipes I tear up. Especially when they are wearing my tartan. May the Lord bless the fourty twa.

I just wish I could have been there to see it Live...keep the great work up. A wonderful treat for the people who live in Australia..Who never get to see the real tattoo in Edinburgh......
An exceptionally wonderful display of military precision and music and a Hakka to remind us of the Autumn Rugby tests! Pleased to note that the principal conductor of the event is an officer of the Irish Guards.

I stumbled upon this absolutely stunning, mesmerizing, musical, recognition tribute for the bond between Australia and Great Britain in the form of, naturally, THE honorable Military Tattoo. Even though I’m watching this in 2023 a few years late, I will ALWAYS remember all of the incredible performances, the dedication and expertise of the performers with the sounds of music accompanying my memory. Thank you Tattoo for keeping time honored respect for all to enjoy !
WoW NZ !! Notorious Big routine ... glad to get some Disney and Hollywood ... what a production ! The set was fabulous . Eternal Father Strong to Save was sung at my Fathers funeral... of course we had real words. Great ending !
I believe that there is no better public parade of Troops than is set out on the Edinburgh Military Tattoo. The music is superb and the parade very well planned out. They are all a credit to their units. I love to see the lone piper on the battlements as her plays the pipes to end the parade. May this Tattoo go on for many years to come.

Superb musicianship, playing by memory, getting complex choreography step perfect, holding the instruments up ... all done in heavy formal uniform. They make it look so easy 😊
