Over the years many of you suggested to us to film with the one and only Moustache Jim!! Well, you know we finally made it to Minnesota and were so happy for the opportunity to meet Jim! 🙌🏼
Earlier this year, Moustache Jim Studios partnered with Top Chop Barber to open a barbershop. It was an honor for me to be Jim’s first hot towel shave customer during the soft opening 💈❤️
Set in a building from 1913 and located close to downtown Minneapolis. The high ceilings, old wood floors, and Jim’s style reminded us of the 1920s. Since he recently opened, Jim is letting the space grow organically over time.
Adorning the wall, you’ll also see some of Jim’s work. Jim is an incredible photographer! He does old school plate photography. You can see more of his work here👇🏼

I love the attention to detail. Touches of Eucalyptus, lavender, Bay rum, fresh Aloe Vera. Everything is so organized and has its place. His hand movements are almost surgical he is so precise. Its like watching a painter create a work of art!
Agree on every point you made. He has a beautiful eccentricity about him too.
The simplicity of his studio is very relaxing and elegant. Often times, less is more.
Harry must be the most relaxed man in the world with the amount of quality haircuts and shaves he gets. Im jealous

The pre and post shaves are one of my favorites parts because it’s where the barber can really have his own style. And WOW this guy’s was maybe one of the most unique you’ve had on your channel. I could not believe it when he started cutting up the aloe. He was very confident and had a calming presence. Truly one of the best you’ve visited.

I saw "Moustache Jim" on the title, did a double-take, picked my jaw off the floor, and immediately hit the like button. I never do that before a video, but this is the team-up I've been waiting to see for years. Jim's "fluttering shears" video is among my favorites.

That's insane! I remember a video many years ago of Jim doing a haircut. His technique was called 'fluttering shears'. I loved it. Please tell me that he is going to cut your hair!

I notice that this guy is using a crock pot as a towel warmer. I would have never thought of that. I guess I don't need to buy a towel warmer then. :)
True! I do have to put it on a timer outlet, because it gets really hot. I’ve had to adjust the timer a couple times and I put a UV sterilizing bulb in the cabinet that shines through the glass top. It’s connected on the same timer switch, so I know when the crock pot is on. I’m sure there are more elegant/efficient methods, but I’ll try this for a bit and I’ll also try to get a pair of tongs that I can set in a jar of Barbicide (blue liquid in in jars ).which I always use to jokingly refer to as a pesticide specifically to be rid of pesky barbers.

Last time I saw this guy was in a crowded shop now he’s in his own shop what a wonderful surprise to see Jim again after all these years. I used to watch his hot towel shave video alot to sleep so here’s to a good nights rest again. thanks Jim and Harry

Moustache Jim is a Minnesota legend, the Paul Bunyan of barbers. He's F. Scott Fitzgerald with a blade, a diamond as great as the Ritz.
I always wondered what/where mustache Jim was. His original shave video from years back was one of my favorite videos. Happy to know he’s still the same professional guy!

That's the way barbers dressed when I was a kid back in the 1960's. Although, some barbers kept their dusting brush--handle first-- in their back pants pocket. Love it.

I love these videos. This is one of the most underrated channels on TH-cam. I think it’s important for the younger generations to see how shaving should be. Hopefully this motivates people to move on from the 5 blade $80 razor companies.
Jim’s shop is so different. Just plain and simple. Kind of like “here I am” feel to it.
