Ashton's point on Ludinus is really spot on. It's not enough to simply tear down the establishment (the gods in this case), you also have to ask who might take their place. And I think most reasonable people who've encountered Ludinus go "Yeah, no. I do not want THAT fucker to fill the power vacuum!"

I am 100% expecting this to be about the Cerberus Assembly's goal of putting mages back on the very top of society. There's not a single ounce of me that believes this is more of a humanitarian goal and not a crazy way to gain more political power. 43:37 "I tell the cougar: get in the hole." I think it says something about me that when Bor'Dor said that, I thought for a moment he was talking about Laudna, not the actual wind cougar. 54:17 "The biggest lie of D&D is that you can get eight hours of sleep". That reminds me of an old meme: "Welcome to D&D, where you can live out your wildest fantasies, like gainful employment and having charisma"
Y'all are thinking too small... You know Master Troll is hatching some elaborate plot to be revealed like six months from now. Maybe he'll make the t-shirts too, just to throw Matt off the scent, but there's something more in the works, like the "slowly turning into a flower" thing.
I want a hair pulling slap fight between Ferne and Deni$e. And when Orym steps in to break it up Chetney stops him and just says "No, no... Just watch..."
If you haven’t listened to Not Another D&D Podcast, then I recommend checking out the whole thing, but especially The Mavrus Chronicles mini-campaign. She DMs and cackles in abundance.
It's crazy how good of an actor Matt is and regularly demonstrates such on the show, but during the ad skit at the beginning of the episode when he was shouting at Sam saying like "you're fucking pissing me off" it was one of the most insincere things I think I've ever heard 😂
God’s assistant: My Lord, Dawnfather Dawnfather: Yes what is it..!? I’m kinda busy with this godeater.!? Ga: Quite of few prayers have come in, from fully armored temple guards, shitting themselves.. Dawnfather: Ok so it’s taco Tuesday.. God’s assistant: My lord it’s Thursday.. Dawnfather: Send a Angel now..
I'm like a month behind but I absolutely feel the same, have basically from the start. And maybe I'm wrong, maybe he's just a sweetie, but like... .>.> what if he's not...
@@gabrielloaiza9069 I think Deni$e has clocked him. Just like Chetney knew about Yu before anyone else. I think Utkarsh is dropping quite a lot of hints.
Mark my words, when Bordor used the pipe and Matt looked thoughtful and tense, I think Bordor's answer was'nt exactly true to his backstory. That's why Matt asked if the rules on the pipe were clear to him, because something should have been revealed there that was'nt.
the fact that matt took the time to ask him if he knew what the pipe did, real real sus. but 'most impressive and heroic' can be a difference of opinion so matt probably let it slide on those grounds. i think also maybe utkarsh didn't understand that the pipe acts on its own and bordor can't lie about it.
That's the point. In a meta sense it's funny because Sorcerer don't have that spell and in game it's funny because even if he did the situation didn't call for it.
I red in the first episode he was in the theory that he's a polymorphed "Bordor" Collie. I can't help but see it everywhere now, Matt probably considers a successful rounding up of sheep a greater achievement than controlling the magic
@@guillermorelobalopez7553the alternative is that he is the last specks of memory/power manifested by Vordo, the dead/devoured Fateshaper God, and he has no concrete/solid memories of the time before the Solstice because he was kindof created then
There's clearly something up with Bor'dor, but whatever it is, he clearly does believe at least part of his own story: "I won't say it to the group, but internally, I'm afraid my brother's dead."
Bordor Identity Bingo card includes the following: - Bolo of Aeor - Vordo/Ethedok - a polymorphed doggo - a god attemptimg to hide from Predathos? - just a little guy The funniest thing would be if he actually is just an npc dude trying to keep up with everything and just rolling with it, but also very unlikely. A sick brother? Prolly a god going crazy paranoid.. like Dawn Daddy. HMMMMMM?
Liam has the uncanny ability to sound like Travis in some instances - I remember the debate about the opening song and who was singing a particular line.
I really appreciate the fact that Bor'Dor could not scry on his brother because he had nothing of his on him. It really drive home the point that he was teleported in the middle of his daily job with whatever he had on him. You are a farmer. You have sheep. You live on the mountain with your family. The closest village could be miles away. You don't keep keepsakes on you while you work, just your tools and clothes. I absolutely love it.
On Sam's intro ad: -Taliesin was waaay too good at doing Drake. We discovered one of his chrysalis. -Liam was the absolute perfect pic for "Hide the pain Harold" x)
I appreciate the group giving Bordor time to figure out his spells at the top of the episode. It was fun and a great experience for him as a player, too!
Yeah it seemed Matt wanted to make sure it didn't reveal anything but luckily utkarsh had something up his sleeve with his characters feelings in the moment of what his most accomplished and heroic moments means, then I interpreted Matt's pensive hand-teepee poker face so I'm like uhhhhh but I could be reading too much into it. I wonder if he is Yu in disguise but idk if they can do the same spells that a sorcerer can.
When he described his best moment as feeling like he belonged with the group? That shit made me think he's probably proud of having fooled them into believing he's one of them. The way he told it was "hella sus", as the ghost influencer would say through Chetney.
@@DSas2300 In my opinion, that temple was acting of its own accord and was trying to shove its doctrine down the locals' throats and was, in essence, occupying the village without the villagers' consent. Exandria is in serious need of checks and balances.
Ashton speaking about Ludinus, YES! I have had many of monologues/out loud discussions in my car about what would happen if they just agreed to kill the gods. It would either be a magical race to see which mage can force their way to divinity the fastest, the world ends because there are no Gods taming the chaotic world, or the God eater would devour everyone once he’s finished with the Gods. So glad to see others thinking the same thing.
Bor’dor has SUCH a weird vibe going on… I really hope he just turns out to be a dog and not, idk, a Ludinus plant or someone like Yu?! Like the foggy backstory, the whole “I need help idk what I’m doing!” thing?? ALSO, isn’t Orym (or anyone) mention the fact that Ludinus is responsible for many deaths, especially of the people they love??
Omg I almost forgot about Yu! We need to see her again. Please let utkarsh, after a series of clutch insight checks and some probing, simply stand up and invite Erika into the studio 😂

I get it now, on top of the whole new perspectives on gods, each party gets to learn more about another member One group goes back to Chetney's old stomping ground, and the other group uncovers more about Ashton
Chetneys backstory… was super lame. I was over here waiting to learn about his list and all that, but nope. Best part of the other group was the Chetney RTA Campaign 2 call back to the chair in the middle of the chamber.
Emily's "I wanna put a rocket on a Korok. Please let me shoot him into the running waters" is such a mood that everyone that had to endure all those environment puzzles for Korok poop feels.
I've never seen Emily Axford play until this campaign (and then again in the Zelda one-shot). Her cackle is the gift I didn't know I was supposed to be asking for all this time.
@@mivimivi3k If you're into podcasts, she is also a main cast member on NADDPOD, which is an absolute delight of a show and one where you really get to see her flex her spellcasting skills
I was bummed that Liam interrupted her midair rocket reconfiguration in the Zelda one-shot. Dorian, and the rest of the audience, were very excited for that.
It definitely isn't trent or lud purely because of the disdain between the assembly and the soul It also can't be Caleb because this is only 7 years after MN and she came through 10 years ago. I do wonder whether it might be Yudala or someone we've seen before in the soul though
for some reason the motto "we keep her spirit enduring" and the fact that they're in a place where residuum is mined screams delilah briarwood shenanigans to me.
So.. there's a "Verdant Tomb", that is supposed to have an archdruid and a small village around it, and in which someone's spirit is maintained. Except there is no sign of any of the people, a person-shaped hole in the obelisk in the middle of the Tomb, a creepy-person hiding on the ceiling, and a strange living mass/object/thing out front. I get the feeling something bad happened here at the Apogee Solstice and maybe something got out and smushed all the villagers into a blob.
It seems like this is Utkarsh's very first game and I love how eager he is try simple things like hunting and fishing. The fact that the rest of the cast is so willing to indulge him is what dnd is all about. Makes me smile every time
Matt is just an incredibly gifted storyteller and he's had me in stitches when he did Pâté, mother and Dynios in close succession. Lots of love to Matt
Matt interrupting with a "I don't think you fully understood what that pipe does?" almost as if trying to stop him from smoking it made Bor'dor's sketchy levels go from 0 to 100 real fucking fast
Paté and Dynios MAKE this group for me! Petition for a second A Familiar Problem one-shot where Matt plays them both 😂 Secondly, I love the re-emergence of awkward!Ashton, why is this so cute? ☺
With Emily here, it highlights how much the main cast lacks in Intelligence (the stat). All those investigations and arcana ! Prysm is the smartest PC of this campaign. BH are so dumb 😂
@florianeborreda528: Int seems to be a default dump stat in 5e. Str = melee bonus damage Dex = missle & AC bonuses Wis = perception bonus Con = hp bonus, barb AC bonus Cha = RP bonus with NPC’s
@@bmyers7078 yeah, I always dump either strenght or int. Sometimes charisma can be funny. But I love that chetney is the smartest of BH and orym in second. It really shows with a high int character in the party
Chetney having the highest INT has come in handy with some investigation and history checks. But it’s the arcana and religion that I think they really miss out on. Especially when dealing with magical devices that go after gods 😂. Although I think Laudna has a decent Arcana.
Her husband Brian gave all of his dice luck to her and left none for himself. That's how we got "STATISTICALLY, I'VE GOT JUST AS A GOOD CHANCE OF ROLLING GOOD AS ANY OF YOU!"

Bor'dor's SILVERY BARBS is a perfect joke. Not only does he not have that spell, but it's not even relevant in this situation
It's perfect because he has no idea how magic works, too, so he's just copying the others in an attempt to figure his new power out.
Makes perfect sense though, he doesn't know how anything works but was trying to copy what he heard laudna say in the church fight.
That's the point. In a meta sense it's funny because Sorcerer don't have that spell and in game it's funny because even if he did the situation didn't call for it.
