Established in 1977, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (SWT) operates the world’s most successful orphan elephant rescue and rehabilitation program, rescuing and hand-rearing orphaned elephants and other animals that have lost their mothers, all too often as a result of human activity. But we do much more than this. Through our Aerial, Anti-Poaching and Mobile Veterinary Units, we safeguard the natural environment and provide immediate assistance to wild animals in need. We also secure irreplaceable wilderness areas so that animals will always have space to roam and work with local partners and communities to ensure people and wildlife can live alongside one another.

Several years ago my adult daughter gave me the most wonderful gift of fostering one of your orphans for a Christmas gift. I was absolutely ecstatic! She and I have both become 'foster parents' several times,now,and just wish that we could do more all the time! We thank YOU,ALL of you!

For all these wonderful, intelligent, compassionate men who dedicate their lives, for their spouse and children for their personal support of their husbands and fathers for accepting the sacrifices they live on a daily basis for giving essentially their lives to save these beautiful elephants for the pleasure of the world and the ultimate survival of these loving, intelligent and compassionate elephants your dedication and extremely hard work both physically, emotionally and spirituality, thank you for what you do in whatever job you fulfill for the DSWT. You are the keepers that God gave to us when He created the animals and gave "men" dominion over them. You exhibit in your videos the humility of the true soulful selfs that God has annoited you to live. Thank you for the truly incredible work you all do to help elephants and other wildlife. You make a such a difference for these majestic creatures.
Has anyone else noticed that the new wild mother's now caring for their own babies,give comfort the way the keepers gave them a finger to suck! They give their trunks to stroke the babies and the finger on the end they try to give for them to suck . they remember when they were orphan babies and try to imitate their keepers, who cared , fed them and loved them.keep up your wonderful work I love to watch the video,s when they go back to the wild and come back to show their own babies to the keepers who gave them so much.
