Kate Spade's suicide profoundly saddened me - she was such an icon and her handbags were rites-of-passage for young women. Practically every girl I knew back in college had either a Kate Spade or Tory Burch bag. It was seen as our first "big girl" bag that marked the transition into a chic, sophisticated stage of womanhood - one that would be full of promise and optimism and study abroad semesters in Europe...It's interesting that her brand was/is so happy and cheerful and fun while she herself struggled with such darkness.

The word "sermon" comes from the Latin "sermonem," and means "a stringing together of words," as well as "continued speech, common talk, learned talk, and discourse." I grew up a preacher's kid and so the word is dear to me! I'm also very passionate about helping people to heal wounds around various religious or spiritual terminology. Most of the time those wounds come from misunderstandings! :) The Sermons that come from the stars are beautiful...the word sermon doesn't belong exclusively to angry or condemning Christian ministers! IT also belongs to us!

Hi Juliette, the quote was pulled from Renn Butler's "The Archetypal Universe," and he was quoting her in turn, but I read this while scanning some entries in his book a few days ago and couldn't remember which LG text he was pulling from (otherwise I would typically mention a title for people). :) If you haven't read her books, check out "The Astrology of Fate," I am almost positive that's where it came from!

The Macron government has remained insensitive to its calls for help, and the parents' alerts are still unanswered. My condolences and my prayers to the family :(
