I built a MTB trail and these guys killed it!

  • The backyard MTB trail build continues with a new berm and I invited a crew of riders from Moruya Bicycles and Narooma Bicycles to shred the trail.
    The new flow section of the mountain bike trail continues with a new berm right after the s-bend that I built in the previous episode. This section is incredibly fun to ride and is a lot faster.
    I used my mini excavator to dig out the inside of the corner and dump the dirt on the outside to build up the riding surface. I had to shuffle the dirt back and forth a few times before I was pleased with the shape of the curve.
    Each episode takes a hell of a lot of work. If you would like to support me and my channel, you can buy MTB apparel from my shop or join my Patreon crew.

    I'm a trail worker here in The States and your work is stellar and certainly makes me want to get some more time building MTB trails; maintain this sick level of work and the videos that are artistry in and of themselves.
    Not sure if it means much, but I showed these to my brother who isn't an outdoorsman in the slightest, and he simply said:
    'It's criminal that this guy doesn't have more subscribers, I couldn't stop watching.' and I can't agree more. Keep it up! (also an Alaska mill overview would be sweet)

      Hi Nico, stoked you found my channel! Very cool you are out working on trails as well! And thank you for your kind words, it means a lot to me. Very cool that your brother liked my videos as well. I great to know that my content is interesting to people outside of the MTB community. It gives me more hope that this channel could really blow up one day.
      I have had lots of questions about the Alaskan Mill on instagram as well. I think I will need to do a dedicated video for it.
      Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment.

    Luke - once again, great video! You are killing it in the production quality and content of your videos. I enjoy your enthusiasm and drive to create a great trail. Don't forget some tech thrown in just to keep the riders honest... you don't want too much flow! Maybe a rock garden to break up the flow? Call that new S section the Aussie Flow section - there are a couple S's in Aussie to compliment the extra curves/burns you've added.

    • @cutlaps
      @cutlaps  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Joseph! I like the idea of the tech keeping the riders honest 😂. It's just a bit of a struggle to have a rock garden with the current trail. The only rocky sections are in really sandy soil and they aren't very big. So after a couple of rides the come loose. So sadly I think this trail will be without a proper rock garden but dont you worry! I have been exploring the property and have found some perfect tech lines through janky rock. Some really gnarly stuff that I don't even want to ride. Definitely some tech trails coming in the future. And Aussie flow works with back to back Ss. I like that.

      Man, they killed it. So good to see, and lots of fun to ride with them. The drainage plan for the new berm is down the inside and then I need to shape a dip in the trail where I want the water to cross. But I wasn't exactly sure where yet because there will be a bit of a trail change coming up. The dip doesn't have to be deep but the wider the better. The wider it is the less erosion happens.
