Merry Christmas to you and yours. This show is not for everyone. But it is well written. It's more of a slow-burn political thriller with some action sprinkled in that happens to take place in the Star Wars Universe. It picks up more and more as the season progresses ... the episodes go intro, buildup, action ... intro, buildup, action ... extra ... intro, buildup, action ... and ends with a two-episode finally. Without spoiling anything, this next chapter is more interesting. Action pact this show is not, but still, I really enjoyed the show as a whole.

Just because the series is slow, it doesn't mean it's bad. The characters are well-developed and nuanced than in Disney's other projects. Each character has depth and isn't just there for the sake of the plot. You don't need action every episode to write a good story, and Andor works better with a slower pacing. Also, I feel like I need to let you guys know that the rest of the series is pretty similar to this story arc. There is much dialogue, and few action scenes. it's going to continue to be "slow". But as I mentioned earlier, the slower pace fits this series. I hope you'll like the series, but it's fine if you don't. It's definitely not a series for everyone.

The slow burn was a bit surprising and annoying. But that being said, the first 2 episodes felt a bit schizophrenic. Couldn’t identify the tone they were going for. I felt the flashbacks should have been done all at once in the beginning if we were going for slow burn. But it seems to be the way films and shows handle this nowadays. Interspersed between story transitions because functionally the audience is captive and has no choice but to hang on and watch because we have no idea when it’ll jump back to present.
The only time the flashbacks really worked for me was at the end of Episode three where the juxtaposition of Cassian going aboard Maraca’s ship as a child vs Luthen’s ship as an adult. Episode 3 was written extremely well, and not for the action. As you can see in our reaction the action was completely predictable and only served as the impetus to push Cassian into Luthen’s schemes quicker.
To quote Snoke… “We shall see…”

Hello. Lol. Am surprised you all kept up with the series. I made the case a few episodes back why this might not be a series you and your friends would enjoy. I would like to just comment on why some of us like the series because I feel my response was one sided and it really bothered me.
To me Andor is not slow story telling but old fashioned detailed story telling. The first thing Andor wants us to do is to really understand the characters and it does this by showing what they they think, how they interact with other characters and their environment and what they say as well as what other character say about them. And the way the characters are written is very consistent. Another thing that characters in Andor do is that they plan, they think and they scheme. The show takes the time to not only put them in situations but it shows you how they try to figure things out.
Characters in Andor do not careen from action scene to action scene like in a lot of movies or shows. You don’t get the feeling that they have been placed on a chess board with no rules except to get to the other side of the board as fast as possible. They don’t act totally out of character or willfully and recklessly in order to move the plot along (cough Game of thrones >= Season 6 cough). Yes characters can act out or make foolish decisions but you can pretty much figure out why they did what they did .
And this is because we don’t have superheroes or Jedi knights who can tap into an incredible universal force or cool weary experienced veterans with neat battle gear or bad ass hardened bounty hunters with special armor who can fly in the story. These are just regular people that have their own sets of skills. But they need to act more cautiously than characters in most modern day action movies.
Another thing Andor does not do is it does not subvert expectations. To paraphrase, as George Martin once said, if you set it up that the butler did it and then you say another character did it, then story is all messed up. What Andor does is it sets it up so you can figure out the butler did ,though it may not be in exactly the way you thought it would be. But then Andor shows you what happened to the butler, how it affected the other characters and then how it then affected the way the household works. What Andor is concerned with is not just that ACTION occurred but that there was an opposite and usually disproportionate reaction. It shows the effect on the main characters, those they care about and the systems they operate in.
What you all said about what happened in episodes 1-3 is to just get Cassias to go with Luther was that they were too predictable plot points. I don’t think those elements Andor cares about will be ones that you and your friends will care about. This show is not exciting or clever enough for you all to enjoy. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea

    MERRY CHRISTMAS, GUYS!!!!!
They ordered lots of green make up for She-Hulk and had a lot left over. (What do you mean most of the time she'll be CGI? I thought you wanted to cut expenses.). They only used it for the retro Incredible Hulk opening sequence in the last episode.
Yep, the "Big Guy" booby-trapped the shuttle. Bix now has PTSD/survivor guilt - even though Timm betrayed her she just saw him killed, couldn't even go to him, was left staring at his body for hours and now realizes she should have handled things differently. It's the hind sight that really gets you.
Would conclude this with a few lines from my new favorite Christmas Song but I can't remember if you watched the GOTG-X-mas Special and don't want to spoil it

Have not watched GOTG Christmas special. Need to. I get the survivors guilt. Her reaction makes sense. But as bystanders we are gonna call him out.
I believe I called his death in ep 2 when he made the call. Typical trope. He is a dead man. 🤷‍♂️.
Well written episode though. And not just because of the action. In fact the action was meh. Totally predictable and only served as the impetus to make Cassians decision to join Luther more realistic as he wouldn’t have done so except as a last resort.
