Floor's cover here is flawless, powerful and beautiful. I can hear a young Anne Wilson there which is what I believe she was going for. When Anne Wilson did this song in her prime, she was (and still is in my opinion) one of the most beautiful voices in the world. She still kicks butt. Shes older and has some mileage on her voice, but Anne is still a goddess and her live versions of the Heart songs with the The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is something that should be experienced by everyone who loves beautiful voices. You should react to Joss Stones "Son of a preacher man" live version. I'd love to see your reaction to her soulful voice. When you hear her you go that did not come out of that little girl but yes it did.
The Grand Piano is played by Joost van den Broek, he is a long time friend and like Floor a former band member from the first Metal band Floor was in called "After Forever" By the way, The band "Heart" is awesome too 💕💕💕 And Floor Jansen is a vocal coach too (hug)

This performance really showcases Floor's ability to really heavily colour the vocals with subtle and not so subtle shifts in dynamics, timbre, and texturing to convey the emotions and story of a song. Another great one in a similar vein you might be interested in is Floor's cover of Lara Fabian's Adagio, in the original higher key of the album version (rather than the lower key Lara usually performs it live).

I remember trying to sing-a-long with Heart from the backseat of my mom's car. This song brought back some memories, I love that Floor performed it only accompanied by piano. Sometimes the more instrumental the track the less the lyrics mean. When you strip it of all color all you hear is the black and white of it until.....vocals. Then there's truth.

What is there to say about Floor that has not been already said. She is technically sound, has lungs of a deep sea diver and vocal chords of titanium 😉 but one thing I like about her the most is her storytelling. Loved this piano version since she initially recorded it with her first band, "After Forever". Joost van den Broek, who goes back to Floor's After Forever days, is an exceptional pianist/keyboardist and produces many Dutch bands and artists. These days he is most associated with playing and working with Arjen Anthony Lucassen, the musical genius behind Ayreon, which Floor has performed several albums with. Joost is working w/ Floor on her solo album.

If you're not familiar with the song, I strongly, strongly recommend you hear it done by the band who wrote it. Ann and Nancy Wilson, of Heart, can't be topped by anyone, though many have tried.
I don't know what you use for recording, but please use some kind of limiter for the noise levels. When things get loud the sound starts getting staticy.
I love the Heart original. Can't wait to hear what Floor will do with it, BTW the piano work at the beginning of the Heart version always makes me think of Aerosmith and Dream On. Anyone else hear that?

Loved this piano version since she initially recorded it with her first band, "After Forever". Joost van den Broek, who goes back to Floor's After Forever days, is an exceptional pianist/keyboardist and produces many Dutch bands and artists. These days he is most associated with playing and working with Arjen Anthony Lucassen, the musical genius behind Ayreon, which Floor has performed several albums with. Joost is working w/ Floor on her solo album.

This song came out when I was (holding hand over mouth) a teenager, so everyone else's rendition is compared to the original! I think Floor did a great job! i liked that it was stripped down. She was siting there by fireplace upset after having been ghosted, maybe? I also really liked the pianist!

Seconding "No One", and others below, requesting Floor's cover of Lara Fabian's "Adagio". I did a word search of your channel for reviews of Lara Fabian, and I did see that you reacted to one of her songs, "Je suis malade", about 7 months ago. It's right beside the entry on your channel to "Ghost Love Score" ( ahhh! ---- those were the days !! ), and showing 177K views as of today. Congrats!
Currently there is a great battle going on between Lara fans and Floor fans (being in Canada and Lara being a naturalized Canadian I'm happy to support both singers) as to who did "Adagio" best. Love to hear your take on that, since both are obviously exceptional singers. I have to confess I'm maybe a little bit more of a Floor fan, so probably want to see your reaction to her "Adagio" first?? Keep well ...

Joost is also helping Floor with her solo album. You should checkout her 3 Masterclasses. You should react to Heart doing this and their performance at the Kennedy Center. Its a cover of a cover. Floor sings this with Nightwish and her 1st band After Forever. Adiago by Floor and Lara Fabian next. Floor's birthday was on Sunday. I think you will like Lea Salonga singing in the 10th Anniversary of Les Miserables. Don't cry for me Argentina.

The pianist is propably Joost van den Broek, the pianist of Ayreon (Arjan Anthony Lucassen) he is a very good pianoplayer and often plays on a real grand piano, not boxed piano in a keyboard..
You really ought to listen to more Floor. She is a whole party and a delightfully intelligent person besides. Oh, and massively talented. (Yeah, party... No emoji keyboard... )

If you're not familiar with the song, I strongly, strongly recommend you hear it done by the band who wrote it. Ann and Nancy Wilson, of Heart, can't be topped by anyone, though many have tried.
