Yes, she is paying tribute to her nation's coal miners, many of whom sacrificed their lives to look after their families. The Jinjer logo was a visual tribute to these workers. I do believe that it is a gear wheel from a boring machine. Very cool! It also is in keeping with their hard-driving (but definitely not boring) sound!!
Their symbol is a gear from a coal processing machine. It is so deep and respectful that they did this for the people in their neighborhood. They grew up in a poor coal mining neighborhood that was war-torn. They deserve everything they get!
"we will drill your mind" - that is how they explain the choice and the meaning, its a gear wheel and in the center is the tip of the drilling tool frontal looked
I’m shocked nobody has suggested “Captain Clock” yet! That definitely needs a double feature! Another amazing double feature would be “Dreadful Moments” I never noticed how tight and amazing the band was until seeing the live version of that song.
Nice reaction again bro. No Hoard of Value is my favorite "older" Jinjer song, it's actually my 5th favorite Jinjer song overall. The song came out in 2013, and at that time they were a 5 piece band with a rhythm guitarist whose name is Dmitry Oksen. He was actually a founding member of Jinjer who later left the band to become an actor leaving Roman as the sole guitarist and leaving Jinjer as a 4 piece band which they still are today. The "live" version is hilarious, Tati seems a little tipsy, and when the "Unicorn" comes on stage it's hilarious, not one of their best live performances, but definitely a fun one, heck even Vlad is shirtless, so you know he was having a great time LOL 😄😄😄😄😄 Anyhow bro, keep up the great reactions, and as always, stay Metal. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🎶🎶🎶🎶
Members of the band were born and grew up in Donetsk region of Ukraine ,one of biggest coal mining regions in Europe .Coal mining is one of the main ways to make money there and people have no choice ,Iife depends on this industry. In 90's after the Soviet Union's collapse ( Ukraine was one of the republics of former USSR ) industry ,including coal mining ,was in a deep crisis .Coal miners were not paid or paid partly for many months .So,words hunger and poverty ,in this song is not an exaggeration ,how some people think .This was the real life they saw in childhood ,that may be the reason why this song is so heavy and emotional .The band's logo is a tip of a drill of a coal mining drilling machine .And I think this song is a real example of what should be called industrial metal. "Captain Clock "official lyric video and Official live from Resurrection fest 2018 will be another great double feature .Thanks !
Omg you did the "feat Unicorn" video! So epic. I love watching how she's torn between the crazy fun show with the crowd cracking her up (I think she might have been a bit tipsy there haha) and the super serious song. They'se said in interviews that a show in Paris was one of their craziest and I'm guessing it was this one. And no worries, they can't _all_ be your favorite. They have so many great songs that I don't know if I'd say it is one of their best songs aside from dealing with such serious subject matter and the great video that dramatizes it. Total respect for them doing that though. Cheers! p.s. the one-shot video at Mystic Festival is really good as a live option for Ape and the audio was mixed by their former drummer Dmitry Kim whose regular profession is being a sound engineer.
"they can't all be your favorite" I disagree. :D I think it is harder to just pick one single favorite of so many awesome songs, so the only logical conclusion is to have all of them be your favorite.
Nice reaction!!! Looking forward to Ape! Indeed love the double features!! If you want Tatiana without growls/screaming, try Bad Water! Very intense song!!!
Oh and just a thought, if you plan to keep up with the double features, Jinjer have quite a few 'play throughs' on bass, guitar and drums. Perhaps a little change up for a couple vids you could react to the playthrough as the follow up reaction? I'm sure the guys and gals below can suggest their favourite (personally I'm a bass guy, so any Eugene play throughs on his bass would be welcomed). There's also an instrumental version of one of their newer tracks, forget which one - really showcased the musicianship by extracting the lyrics. Will try and find it.
I love all your double features! but my man, you gotta do "On the top" official vid and live in Kiev. Sorry for bugging about it but i think you will love this song!
That song is from their early songs, appreciate your reactions man, you can check for them pit of Consciousness live i kiev, i believe its their best live performance.
Agreed. Anything from live in Kiev, Retrospection, On the Top, and Pit of Consciousness. Pisces Live did not come across as well in that particular concert.
Their symbol is a gear from a coal processing machine. It is so deep and respectful that they did this for the people in their neighborhood. They grew up in a poor coal mining neighborhood that was war-torn. They deserve everything they get! Thank you for taking time to know the deeper meanings of songs, and moreso to be human and feel it.
Not my favorite Jinjer song, but I love that live performance. She was just having fun, which I love. I saw them perform this song last year....and it was far more serious than this performance. Can’t wait for “Ape”! “Cloud Factory” is great. As is “Exposed as a Liar” (which is old school Jinjer).
Talking about bands that can take a sensitive, important subject and make it into a bad ass song beside Jinjer there is also Disturbed who are masters at doing just that as well. Disturbed with songs like Another way to die (pollution), The vangeful one (media braiwashing the masses), Innocence (lawyers and corporations taking advantage of the suffering of abused people), No more (anti-war song), Never again (holocaust), Inside the fire (suicide), A reason to fight (addiction, depression), Legion of monsters (terrorism and how media talks more about the ones doing it instead of focusing on the victims and solutions), Save our last goodbye (losing people we love to sickness), Who (betrayal of friends and family), Hold onto memories (another one about losing family and friends), and the list of this type of songs from their discography can go on and on. That is why i totally love bands like Jinjer and Disturbed, they are not afraid to speak up and put into amazing songs harsh real subjects.
Jinjer "Outlander" - The video from failure_color is awesome (and has close to 7 million views). One of the best songs by them and Tati with dreads going crazy. Full power from start to end. It really is one of the best Jinjer videos out there. You will like "Ape", it is good. And I guess you would enjoy "Just Another" as well (it's a groovy song wich feels lighter in parts, even if the message is deep). "Captain Clock Official Live at resurrection fest" is a very nice older (2018) live video (and it's a crazy song which has over three million views).
This is definitely in my top three Jinjer songs. I love the part that says "relax, you're unlikely to endure"... the employer's way of saying "don't worry you'll die soon"! Lol
Dig deeper... I'll just say, it's good going back in time with them. There are still more different styles they play, and more levels of her voice. My favorite has changed about 15 times haha...
Omg I’m never going to get this class done with the double features...oh well guess tomorrow will be the day! P.S. I made reference to several of Jinjer’s songs having the Slipknot vibe to my son and he looks at me all crazy. I have seen you make the reference twice now. I’m glad I’m not the only one who sees it.
Other than Sit Stay Rollover, I'm noticing your digging more of their newer sound compared to their older stuff. Their newer stuff is definitely more technical and complex.
Your on point with your assessment on this imo. Pit of Consciousness live in Kiev is seriously killer check it out. One of my favorite performances from them. Thanks man.
From Wiki Ref. 2002 "Since 1991, up to 300 [miners] have died at work every year". Add in the effects of long running war, general conflict, and Socialist government and you have a hard life that the average American cannot comprehend...
Like I said in the last video, this may not be their best performance, but they definitely had fun doing it. Part of the problem with doing this song live is in the clean parts there is a lot of vocal harmony. Without backing tracks it's almost impossible to do that sound justice with one voice, no matter which vocal line you sing. She was definitely exhausted in this video however, and trying to contain laughter will really wreak havoc on your breath control. I personally really like the way this song sounds, although it is a lot more simple than their newer stuff I just like the loud and fat sound This whole album is very serious and hard hitting in terms of lyrics. Every song is about some way that humans are destroying each other or the planet. Another one from that album is When Two Empires Collide. It's about the war in Ukraine that started in 2014. The war tore through their home and as a result they had to flee to a safer part of the country. It's actually a fairly emotional song. Nobody ever reacts to it because there is no video, but I would highly recommend it because it's a really good song.
Cool older banger! I really apreciate the extra mile you go to make the double features but some musics are not worth it cause the live audio is a crap like this one, and it´s not your fault, people who suggest double features of these specific songs to you should be more aware. More doesn´t always means better. With that said if you are into double features Captain Clock official lyric video and Captain Clock live at Ressurection Fest are amazing! Hell of a track and hell of a performance. And also Ape official is awesome, just the official one is good enough. Peace.
Great reaction!!! I personally real love this song ! there is a better live version of this song your own time just check out the bike rock version !! more intense!
Great reaction! Not one of my fave songs of theirs, but still good. That my little pony chick was Jane, she travels with them as their merch girl. I’d love to see you react to any of the following - Cloud Factory, Words of Wisdom, or Outlander. For Outlander, there’s several live versions, but with crap audio. I think this link is the best audio for Outlander, though I think it’s dubbed over -> th-cam.com/video/XtOYjCkHJak/w-d-xo.html Can’t wait for the next one.
It's pretty clear to me that the sound from this live gig wasn't set up for the video. It's just a stereo feed straight from the board. You can tell, because the mix is all vocals and kick drum. Guitar, bass, and cymbals are barely there, because they would already have been loud enough in the room. This gig would have sounded very different if you were actually there in the audience.
Certainly carries all the rage and disappointment I feel as the son of miner towards the prevailing culture that keeps the industry politically viable. (It hasn't really been economically viable for about 20 years now.)
And to add my own crap opinion, this isn't jinjer's best song. It's really hard to find the rhythm. The song isn't that cohesive. Call me wrong if u want to but that's just my opinion 🤷♀️

I’ve gotten a couple suggestions for that one on other videos, it’s on the list!
Oh fuck yes. Dreadful Moments brings me to tears when I think of it in context of friends that were abused as children.
There is no content creator I’ve come across that reacts to as much Jinjer as you do, you really love em huh! 😊 keep em coming bro great channel 💪🏻
Thank you bro and yea I’m having fun diving into this band and learning about them from the core fans 🙏
