      @@ericgion8795 Yeah, like the other commenter said, generally a cell phone being used as a hotspot, or independent mobile network hotspot device, or alternatively there are satellite internet services and in some areas even still direct radio internet services. I'm currently using a hotspot lent out by my college, and hoping to get access to Starlink as soon as I have some money for something better lol.
      I've also used the heck out of various public wifi networks in the past and still rotate some of those in sometimes. McDonald's locations (at least in my city) have surprisingly fast and stable wifi for gaming, if you can park close enough to the building. I've found Home Depot is a great place to park for a night when transient, it's not officially allowed but as long as you're quiet and keep to yourself nobody says anything, but their store wifi in my experience always blocks gaming traffic while being great for everything else lol. And parking outside public libraries works sometimes too. All sorts of options are available depending on one's region.

    Swap out the suspension to get it to level without the weight. If it's a 4x4 you will damage the transfer case with the different spin rate. Also could cause a lot of braking and speedometer issues with the speed sensors reading differently. Basically the smaller wheels will rotate faster looking like they are slipping

    • @ItsAsparageese
      @ItsAsparageese ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Could you elaborate a little bit more about this and/or point me to some resources that explain it further? I'd love to understand more about this. I get the idea that different spin rates across one transfer case will put undue forces on it and fiddle with sensor systems, that makes sense to me. But I'm _juuuust_ knowledgeable enough to get myself in trouble and I know it lol, so I'm worried about implications/unknown-unknowns, y'know? Like are there ways this can happen by accident from normal repair mistakes a DIYer might make? Or is it just a matter of always making sure your wheels all match and bearing sensors are happy? Is there something specific I can watch for in terms of weird vehicle behavior or part wear and tear that would tell me if this was happening to a vehicle?
      No pressure to advise me if you don't want to spend the effort of course! Thanks either way for your awesome informative comment and the useful rabbit hole it's already sent me down. Just excited to learn from you or anyone else knowledgeable who stumbles across this thread.
      For context, a '99 Explorer is what I'm mostly learning on. I was thinking of putting slightly larger wheels on it for a couple inches more ground clearance but I learned that could have pretty big implications for my suspension (I've swapped control arms so I fully understand how my torsion bar suspension works at least) so I got intimidated and have held off. I've googled a bunch but I have crappy google-fu and it seems like this is the sort of thing one mostly has to learn from smart tradespeople haha. I really enjoy suspension work but I'm pretty afraid to screw things up, especially with my truck being my main residence.

    • @tennisontower8003
      @tennisontower8003 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      @@ItsAsparageese A lot of it comes down to how your vehicle is set up. The only way to mess up the front-rear "matching" without significant modifications, like differentials, is tire size. Assuming the factory tires are the same size front and rear, then you should match the tires front and rear. You can increase the size of both the front and rear, and the vehicle will function properly, but your speedometer will show slightly inaccurate depending on how much bigger a tire you put on. The simple solution is match the front and rear modifications. A larger tire or a lift should be done the same front and rear. Changes in tire size can affect top speed, acceleration, MPG, and your speedometer. They will not break anything, within reason, but can change how the vehicle behaves.
      Any issues with the sensors or ABS, will be related to different tires sizes. I have a 99 CRV without ABS or Traction Control, and the speed sensor is in the transmission, instead of the axles. I could do whatever I wanted to the car, and it would still work relatively normally, as the tires/hubs provide no information to the car. I would have to disable my AWD though, as that would remain an issue.

    • @trevorssillyplace
      @trevorssillyplace ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The dummy who posted the video listed off the width of the tires not the height. If he can't understand that he won't understand ur comment lol.

    • @tennisontower8003
      @tennisontower8003 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      @@trevorssillyplace The way tires are measured means changing the width also changes the height. 205 55 R16 is a 205mm wide tire. 55 means the side is 55% of 205, or about 112mm. If you increase the width to 225, then the side is still 55%, which is now 123mm, making the tire larger both in width and height.

      My belief is that making a wise investment is a fantastic way to save money for the future as well as a way to generate passive income. Those who make poor mistakes early in life regret them later in life. But, if done alone, investing may be challenging and risky. For this reason, I suggest consulting experts for advice (financial advisors). The difficulty lies in effectively employing it, not just watching videos and reading investing books.

    • @turboimport95
      @turboimport95 2 ปีที่แล้ว +63

      Gas price is really nothing considering, you can mostly camp sitting still for days out of the week, but compare that 10Mpg and free rent to paying like 1500$ Plus a month in rent...I promise this is way cheaper then a house, House has rent/power bill/water bill/etc and all he practically has is food and insurance and gas etc.. Its actually better then a diesel because gas is easier to repair and since its used you can get junkyard parts if need be.

      I've done smaller carlife for the better part of the last decade now, with my two dogs and previously a third dog with my ex (40lb, 80lb, and 100lb dogs respectively), been in a pretty wide variety of vehicles and urban to wilderness environments, and done some animal rescue and worked for a vet some years back, so I've got some relevant experience and knowledge. Do you have any particular questions or ideas or concerns about vehicle life with dogs that I could maybe help with? I'd be happy to answer whatever I can!
      I can answer right off the bat what the biggest downside/pain is to prepare for ... The occasional vomit or diarrhea or rolled-in-poop accident. Always have spare bedding, even if you never really use it, something not bulky for a backup blanket, and emergency trash bags for dirty things and a plan for where to store stinky things temporarily, if you don't have your own extremely convenient travel laundry machines lol. Doesn't matter how young or healthy the pet is. Organisms make fluids, it's inevitable, it's like kids, literal crap does and will happen. Having a few dedicated utility-towels, that you'd be okay with throwing out if you had to, is also smart.

    Great conversion, quality workmanship! I'm retired and am being forced out of the house I've been living in and remodeling over the past several years, and I don't know if I'll have enough money to purchase another house, because of the current high prices, so I'm thinking that I may need to become a "Van Lifer" in a few months. I'd love to be able to contact you for advice on doing my own conversion. I have years of construction experience, but not with the lightweight materials usually used in Van conversions, or RV's/Travel Trailers. Plus I'll need help with how to wire a solar setup together with "Shore" power and vehicle alternator. I've been wanting to see a lot more of the USA & Canada while I can, so maybe this forced move is a good thing, and pushing me toward what I want anyway. I play one online game regularly that I don't want to give up, so I'm also interested in your Internet setup and which service you use.

    Hate to break it to you but a 3090 Founders Edition only consumes 350 Watts of Power at 100% Utilization. Now if you had a Founders Edition 3090Ti then it would be 450 Watts of Power at 100% Utilization. Those numbers are only if you are overclocking the card to it's max potential. But no one does that for their own reasons. I hate to be that guy who says something but it's false information. You even showed the card mining at 100% and its only consuming 287 Watts of Power.

    This is pretty sweet but honestly, I like the Idea of a decked out tree house made pacifically for gaming a lot more. You could even set up a star link and with solar panels play in the middle of nowhere and it would be really sweet. Honestly though the attention to detail makes this look more akin to an actual internet cafe for gamers than a Van converted for a gamer. cool none the less. Best gaming van conversion I have seen.
