Mabel also didnt do a deal with Bill. Its funny that out of the four the “smarter ones” did actually a deal, both out of desperation and the “sillier ones” resolved the problems Mabel in the sock-opera and Stan in the longrun
@@Kubber91 Mabel DID make a deal with Bill. Granted, she did it unknowingly. But the fact that he DID hold up his side of the bargain (freezing time for her), and they had shook on it, shows that it WAS a deal.
@@getshwifty3101 damn yeah you right. Also its fascinating that Stanly knows he is in power in his own mind in both S1 first parter to the finale and in the grand finale too. I’d say he is close to be as smart as his brother, just in different ways.

That last scene, especially seeing where everyone ends up, is so perfect and bittersweet. I'll admit, I tear up when I see "Stan O' War II." My defense of this ending not being a copout is that they showed McGucket remembers. He used the memory gun on himself so many times he lost his mind, but he still couldn't fully forget. The second he saw the blind eye symbol, he remembered, just vaguely, but it indicates that the memories were just buried in his head.
It's also why he kept having to use the memory gun on himself, he kept remembering. The memory gun isn't a permanent solution. And as McGucket proved, _you eventually gain an immunity to it._
Before Bill got erased, the backwards message he said was “AXOLOTL my time has come to burn. I invoke the ancient powers so I may return” so there’s a chance he could return if the show ever comes back
Of course there's also the theory that he already returned because the Axolotl he refers to says he'd be reborn in another time or place which could mean he reincarnated into Stanley. Since he's the only one who calls Ford Sixxer besides Bill.
Stan and Ford'd fight that almost destroyed the world is narratively great because I can get incredibly frustrated with them both and also acknowledge where they're coming from. They both have deep rooted issues, in general and with each other, that they should have resolved way sooner, and all of it exploded at the exact time it shouldn't have. And both of them bear part of the blame; Ford should have realized now was not the time to be messing around and apologized, and Stan should have picked a better time to start the discussion and shouldn't have freaked out, but Ford also just didn't want to have the discussion sooner so it all just simmered. It's a great lesson on communication and how a little of it can save a friendship, and in extreme situations the world.

So the shot of the real Bill Cipher statue was a little teaser for a real life worldwide scavenger hunt that happened in summer 2016 that Alex Hirsch threw together. It ended up leading fans to a legit statue of Bill that he had planted on the coast of Oregon and a chest of “treasure.” Of course, due to a weird property dispute that Alex Hirsch wasn’t aware of when he got permission from the land owner to put this there, the statue eventually ended up being sent to “jail” (held at the police station) before ultimately finding its home at a tourist trap named Confusion Hill in Northern California. From what I’m aware there’s still a guest book there and Gravity Falls fans commonly make pilgrimages to this spot to leave a little trinket behind in a chest for the next fan to take.

I think I finally got it why I prefer Bill's defeat over Belos' and (the villain from another show they haven't watched yet)'s: because he was outsmarted. The other villains were defeated by the protagonist turning into a super saiyan, while the Pines family only used their smarts.
There is poetic justice in the villain defeats in Owl house and Amphibia too; both were defeated by the power of the very thing they used for evil ( the titan and the calamity box )
@@ConfettiDragon That is true but at the same time in the current era where most shows feature superpowers of some kind, and thus the endings mostly relate to said powers, it's incredibly refreshing and satisfying for a villain's downfall to come from pure brains instead of a powerboost or special attack.
@@anusaukko6792 But it wasn't, The titan had been helping Luz all the way, showing her his language and his way of doing magic. The first time Luz and King bonded was in The Intruder, the episode where she learned the first glyph, when King's father chose to help Luz out to protect and be friends with his son. The difference is that Gravity Falls uses science fiction instead of magic, thus making all of their power ups believable, like the unicorn hair, the eraser gun, magnifying flashlight, the mecha mystery shack. What would they have done without the power of that eraser gun? Nothing. All three use different kinds of fantasy and powers, the difference is science fiction vs magic. Both need the user to know what they're doing with it, and their own kind of smarts. Luz is incredibly knowledgeable about titan magic thanks to the three seasons of studying. Dipper, Mabel, Ford and Stan are incredibly knowledgeable of how Bill's power works. Besides, Luz has outsmarted Belos plenty of times, it's not like his titan form was his true defeat, she defeated him in King's Tide when she put the emperor's sigil on him, the goo that was left afterwards was a way to have some grandiose ending like Weirdmageddon and the mecha fight
_Faded pictures bleached by sun_ _The tale's told, the summer's done_ _In memories the Pines still play_ _On a sunny summer's day_ - De-coded message of the final end credits art piece - So glad you both got a chance to experience this incredible series. Even with the show having been over for almost 8 years now, the quality of the characters, comedic writing, and world-building still continues to inspire both fans and those in the animation industry with the works they create. It really was something special and, for as much as others may pester Alex Hirsch for it, I'm glad it only ran for two seasons. Better to tell the complete story you want and have your series end at its peak rather than drag it on for the sake of more profit and fame at the increased risk of dragging it down into mediocrity (or lower). With that said, there's one more series you two must check out at some point. The final show in the holy trinity of narrative-driven Disney cartoons within the past decade. A show that proudly wears its inspiration from _Gravity Falls_ and its sister show _The Owl House_ while forging its own amazing adventure. You two need to watch _Amphibia._
The thing with the prophecy circle is that the creator just threw together some assets from the show on a circle because he thought it looked cool. There was no purpose originally. But people started theorizing about what it could mean. So he decided to go add that to this episode
You guys need to look into the Cypher Hunt! After the conclusion of the series, Alex Hirsch hid clues all around the world for fans to find to figure out where a giant statue of Bill was. It’s still one of my favorite events a creator has done.
“Ready to head into the unknown?” “Nope. Let’s do it” what a beautiful final piece of dialogue for a coming-of-age story. I would love love love to see you guys react to Legend of Vox Machina. The Critters are such a welcoming community who will show your reaction videos tons of love + interaction, they are very good about hyping up reactors who are new to the fandom
Did you notice that the very first episode started with a voiceover by Dipper, and the very last episode ended with one? That's the attention to detail that made this series so great. Way to stick the landing! The creators had hoped to make Stan's recovery a much longer process, taking an entire episode to accomplish, wherein the kids would time-travel to several key points of the series to grab mementos that would help jog Stan's memory. They weren't allowed the space to do that, and in the end, I don't feel that would have been necessary. It had already been established that "erased" memories can be recovered, back in 2x07 - and unlike McGucket, Stan didn't spend 30 years with his brain in the altered state, forming new neural pathways and developing habits of thought. The fact that they got to him _right away_ and started rekindling his memory would have made it easier. The real-life _Journal #3_ (which you _absolutely_ should get, if you liked the show at all) notes that it took several days to fix Stan's brain, including watching old home movies. Yeesh, poor guy, having to go through that! Thank you for sharing your journey through _Gravity Falls_ with us. It's been fun re-experiencing it through your eyes! The last cryptogram of the series says it all: _Faded Pictures, bleached by sun._ _The tale's told, the summer's done._ _In memories the Pines still play,_ _On a sunny summer's day._
Every single time I watch the ending of a series, especially of those I like and have a deeper connection to, I always start tearing up, like, I feel like I'm reliving the sadness of its end, enjoying the ride feels great but I always hate to see it end ... especially when it's a definitive end
honestly PLEASE watch Steven Universe next after Invincible, it’s genuinely incredible and has so much to offer you guys for analysis and psychology and slow impactful world building.
I think you both would LOVE Steven Universe. I just watched it last year, and you can see it as influential for future shows like She-Ra, Amphibia and The Owl House.
Just how Bill fools people when they're desperate, they fooled him when he was desperate. He shook Stan's hand but didn't realize it only had 5 fingers instead of 6
Not gonna lie, I will miss your Tuesdays reactions to Gravity Falls. I always cry with this finale, thank you two so much for the reactions and for the weekly episodes. “See you next summer”.
Bill's final words are backwards speech calling for his resurrection. If you follow clues hidden throughout Gravity Falls additional media, it's heavily implied that Bill's final words resulted in him being reincarnated as King from the Owl House. Did you not notice how out of all the different voices Alex Hirsch does, King and Bill sound EXACTLY the same? What more, based on the year Gravity Falls takes place and the year The Owl House takes place, King is only 8 years old, so he was born the same year Bill died.
You should watch amphibia next. It’s considered a spiritual successor to gravity falls by many and has a lot of the same crew, and was airing at the same time as owl house, so the two reference each other a lot.
I'm so glad that i could be a part of the journey of you guys watching Gravity Falls! It's how I've come to know you two and it's what made me want to stay. The end always makes me tear up a bit, and it makes me so nostalgic of the first time i saw it, when it was first aired lol. Steven Universe is a pretty long serie, to be fair, but it's also such a good one. It tackles grief, trauma and generational issues so well that i really can't help but to love it, so i hope that some day you guys can watch it and love it just as much as i do :)
This was an awesome finale, I feel like Stan getting his memory back so quickly was them pulling their punches a bit but other than that, the ending was amazing!
You guys should watch the follow-up mini-series called "Dipper's Guide to the Unexplained", "Fix it with Soos" and Mabel's one! I really enjoyed watching your reactions to the show
Fun fact: The Zodiac was never meant to be that important. Originally, the image that was going to appear in the opening was the six fingered hand, but Alex Hirsch decided to replace it because he discovered the TV show Fringe also had a six fingered hand. The idea for the Zodiac was created by Alex, when he was running late for meeting in an attempt to replace it, out of random symbols from the seven episodes they'd already made by that point, and when the Zodiac became such a phenomenon in the fandom Alex realized he had to write it into the story somehow. Also, Alex sent the fans on an ARG to find a real life Bill Cipher statue after the final.
I got thrown off so bad by your Invincible preview when it came on because I wasn't looking when it started and the dude sounded like Stanford. I'm pretty sure it's also J.K. Simmons but for a second, I thought I'd accidentally rewound the video. XD
And now to let y'all know that last image of Bill sparked a global treasure hunt orchestrated by Alex Hirsch LMAO It was amazing! It's documented online if you're curious! :D Also, please try out STEVEN UNIVERSE-- the character depth is crazy! You guys would LOVE it!!

I watched this show for the first time recently and fell in love with it instantly I'm glad I watched your reactions, and luckily I got to do it in one sitting. You guys are the best, especially for showing respect to Bodacious T!
This is my favorite cartoon of all time. I cry everytime I hear the remixed theme song at the end, and I couldn't escape again this time, bawled out again. Thanks for the reaction guys, it was a really fun trip!
thank you for watching this show! it was so fun tuning in every tuesday to see your reactions :) i hope you guys can check out the legend of vox machina next, i think you guys will really enjoy it !
There was a Bill Cipher Statue Hunt after the show ended, where you had to find clues all over the world to find the real statue of Bill. Once people found it, there’s a recording of Stan telling you to shake his hand, so Bill is in the real world if someone shook the statue’s hand. Also, I’d think if Stan got his memory back in less than 3 minutes, I’m pretty sure Bill Cipher is back too.
I hadn't thought of it until you mentioned it, but I'd love to see you guys react to steven universe honestly. Its a long show so it would be a nice long term addition to the channel if thats something you guys need
Gods, you guys would love Steven Universe so freaking much. It's got a lot of the same strengths and draws as some of the other shows on this channel that you've loved like She-Ra and My Hero Academia. You would have so much fun theorizing and analyzing the characters.....and getting VERY emotionally invested in them
Such a masterpiece episode, very rare for a series finale to be the absolute best episode of a show but Gravity Falls pulled it off. Cemented as one of the greatest stories ever
I was so goddamn hype for this episode. the mech fight was sooo good. and now I'll forever wonder about the zodiac thing and how that would have worked and what it would have done. with everything coming together from the rest of the series as well as that grappling hook coming in clutch for the billionth time. the big sacrifice play. bill invoking the old magic to come back later. I SOB watching the ending every time. the whole series with the clues that people miss so easily and how alex hirsch pitched this as a complete series in the first place was such a good move. this show was a masterpiece and I will forever sing it's praises. PS. if you haven't looked there's an actual real life bill statue that was made and that picture at the end was real! a baby was the first one to touch it lol.
Awww we've reached the end... Just wanted to thank you guys for reacting to my favorite animated cartoon. It was my childhood and I still revisit it from time to time. I really enjoyed your reaction videos to it. So happy to hear how much you enjoyed this show. The ending was perfect and bittersweet. Sending you both so much love 🥰❤
I may not think Gravity Falls is the best series ever, but it's still a damn good one. The finale manages to be powerful, funny, and heartfelt. Summer must end but that's not a bad thing. It definitely pull at your heart strings with the goodbye. I know yall are doing Invincible right now, but Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated would be great to see in the future! It's a Scooby Doo show with an overarching mystery with similar vibes to Gravity Falls.
I would LOVE to see you react to Steven Universe! It might not look that special from the outside, but the characters and world are so unique and special, the music is amazing, yet feels so natural, and the story is beautiful! Truly could not recommend it more ❤
I'm glad you guys have been enjoying Gravity Falls! Out of the options you mentioned, I think Steven Universe could be super fun for a reaction option, personally :)
After you mentioned vox machina in the intro I thought about how much I’d enjoy watching you two play it. And then you mentioned the game a few minutes later!
this was followed by an IRL event that unveiled an IL Bill Statue and put the pilot public. Look up Cypher Hunt. as well as any shorts or fan content or VA recordings.
Soos wasn't alone at the end though! If you go back to the scene where he's showing the Stan statue you can see his girlfriend from Soos and the Real Girl at the cash register.
The finale was awesome and emotional. The battles were epic, especially the robot and Stan sacrificed his life to save the world. This show was awesome. I like to thank Alex Hirsch and the crew for a great moment 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾🔥🔥🔥😭😭😭
No, no, more importantly, he's the voice of Bill, King, Soos, Old Man McGucket, Stanley Pines, Quentin Trembley, many of the other extras AND creator, writer and executive producer of Gravity Falls itself. He's also an artist. He really is Everything.
Like Avatar Last Airbender, the finale was a masterpiece! It did wrap up super well. Glad you enjoyed this. Who’s scarier: Vecna from Stranger Things or Bill Cipher? I can’t make up my mind. Recommend getting your hands on the DVD at your local library and watching the special features. The interviews with Alex Hirsch and his twin sister are funny and sweet. Stanley and his brother fighting at that crucial moment was foreshadowed with Mabel and Dipper in that Season 1 episode with the magic flashlight. To quote Gideon from that episode: I dare say you would have defeated me, if it wasn't for your sibling bickering Glad you’re moving on to Invincible, another animated program with J.K Simmons. Only as an audience we don’t have to wait a season and a half for his character to show up. Lol
I think i heard this from game theory but all the symbols from the circle are related to projects Alex Hirsch worked on close or far since he had been in the industry for a bit already. And knowing how much he likes mistery (he even did an irl treasure hunt at the end of the show with a Bill statue, the one shown at the end of the episode, waiting for you at the end lol) i think its really true. I caught you only at season 2 but have really been enjoying watching yall, so keep it up guys 😁 and woohoo for Invincible coming next lowl 🙃
Soooo many great details in those ending credits! I'm not sure which one's my favorite, so I'll just point out the one I think you might have missed, appreciate, and is least likely someone else pointed out: McGucket is shown bonding with his son. As for the future: I think Dragon Prince would work well for you.

- De-coded message of the final end credits art piece -
So glad you both got a chance to experience this incredible series.
No matter how many times I've watched this, it always makes me cry when grunkle Stan sacrificed himself
See you next summer.
Nope, more like "See you next Summer." (Not gonna happen.)
The last cryptogram of the series says it all:
_Faded Pictures, bleached by sun._
_The tale's told, the summer's done._
_In memories the Pines still play,_
_On a sunny summer's day._
“AXOLOTL my time has come to burn. I invoke the ancient powers so I may return”
“See you next summer” little did everyone know next summer never came…😢
Every single time I watch the ending of a series, especially of those I like and have a deeper connection to, I always start tearing up, like, I feel like I'm reliving the sadness of its end, enjoying the ride feels great but I always hate to see it end ... especially when it's a definitive end
honestly PLEASE watch Steven Universe next after Invincible, it’s genuinely incredible and has so much to offer you guys for analysis and psychology and slow impactful world building.
Def seconded!
I think you both would LOVE Steven Universe. I just watched it last year, and you can see it as influential for future shows like She-Ra, Amphibia and The Owl House.
Just how Bill fools people when they're desperate, they fooled him when he was desperate. He shook Stan's hand but didn't realize it only had 5 fingers instead of 6
Stanley taking boxing lessons as a kid, then using his right hook to punch Bill out of existence is an incredible payoff
Soos is not alone
He's running the Mystery Shack with his girlfriend 😂
I don't know how it took me this long to realize McGucket getting his memory back was foreshadowing Stan
Not gonna lie, I will miss your Tuesdays reactions to Gravity Falls. I always cry with this finale, thank you two so much for the reactions and for the weekly episodes.
“See you next summer”.
And just like that, Summer ends...until the next rewatch, that is. 💜
The 'see you next summer' always get me crying
Bill's final words are backwards speech calling for his resurrection. If you follow clues hidden throughout Gravity Falls additional media, it's heavily implied that Bill's final words resulted in him being reincarnated as King from the Owl House. Did you not notice how out of all the different voices Alex Hirsch does, King and Bill sound EXACTLY the same? What more, based on the year Gravity Falls takes place and the year The Owl House takes place, King is only 8 years old, so he was born the same year Bill died.
"Guess I was good for something after all."
You should watch amphibia next. It’s considered a spiritual successor to gravity falls by many and has a lot of the same crew, and was airing at the same time as owl house, so the two reference each other a lot.
Steven Universe would be awesome. Has such great story lore and characters and music
19:19
The reversed message says:
"A-X-O-L-O-T-L, my time has come to burn! I invoke the ancient power that I may return! "
I like that two of the Dipper Clones are Alive at the end. though they should have taken part in the Finale.
After this and Owl House, may i suggest Amphibia?
19:52 Thumbs up, like Terminator 2 👍
27:12 Candy and Pacifica drew hearts for Dipper in the letter (but not Wendy) 🤣
I got thrown off so bad by your Invincible preview when it came on because I wasn't looking when it started and the dude sounded like Stanford. I'm pretty sure it's also J.K. Simmons but for a second, I thought I'd accidentally rewound the video. XD
And now to let y'all know that last image of Bill sparked a global treasure hunt orchestrated by Alex Hirsch LMAO It was amazing! It's documented online if you're curious! :D Also, please try out STEVEN UNIVERSE-- the character depth is crazy! You guys would LOVE it!!
thanks guys it's been fun to look forward to every gravity falls episode. it made my school year slightly less bad. whatever you watch next i'll check out too
It's crazy how I've seen this series at least 3 times over and I still cried the entire time from stans amnesia to the very end. What a wonderful series I'm so glad you shared your experience of watching this with us
These two Fr need to watch Kipo and the age of Wonderbeasts.
This is my petition 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Bill Cipher final words.
"A X O L O T L, my time has come to burn! I invoke the ancient power that I may return!"
I watched this show for the first time recently and fell in love with it instantly I'm glad I watched your reactions, and luckily I got to do it in one sitting. You guys are the best, especially for showing respect to Bodacious T!
She ain’t ready for invincible 😂😂
Please PLEASE do Steven Universe!!!!!!
Amphibia or Steven universe would be rly good
Yes! Amphibia especially!
SU over amphibia.@@trentonbuchert7342
Its a long show so it would be a nice long term addition to the channel if thats something you guys need
stopped crying over the sacrifice to start going for my happy-tearbending black belt with the wrap ups.
Gods, you guys would love Steven Universe so freaking much. It's got a lot of the same strengths and draws as some of the other shows on this channel that you've loved like She-Ra and My Hero Academia. You would have so much fun theorizing and analyzing the characters.....and getting VERY emotionally invested in them
Congrats on finishing this series and I'm glad you guys enjoyed it! I loved listening to your analysis and theories on the show.
I did not expected to see so fresh reactions for this masterpiece of a show.
Thank You Both for bringing my memories back.
Gravity Falls, Never Dies !
I cry with every rewatch and reaction video. Thank for this journey guys
PS. if you haven't looked there's an actual real life bill statue that was made and that picture at the end was real! a baby was the first one to touch it lol.
this has been such a fun journey. I am so excited that you guys are doing Invincible after gravity falls, these are both of my favorite shows ever
Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss as my first pic
Then amphibia the owl house sister show
Then dragon prince as third
i cant believe this day is finally happening. the end of the journey
Truly could not recommend it more ❤
Yes, the world is unique... IF WE ACTUALLY SAW IT, INSTEAD OF SPENDING 99% OF THE SHOW IN BEACH CITY!!!!!
I feel like they'd love Steven Universe with its music and writing 💕
i always forget the writing from bill on the back of the not was JUST a headcannon
Soos wasn't alone at the end though! If you go back to the scene where he's showing the Stan statue you can see his girlfriend from Soos and the Real Girl at the cash register.
It was a pleasure watching this show with you guys!
I blame Ford. One does not accidentally push a sibling to violence. You always know beforehand.
The finale was awesome and emotional. The battles were epic, especially the robot and Stan sacrificed his life to save the world. This show was awesome. I like to thank Alex Hirsch and the crew for a great moment
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾🔥🔥🔥😭😭😭
The fact that Bill s voice actor is the same person as the voice actor for King from Owl house , is mind bugleing
To quote Gideon from that episode: I dare say you would have defeated me, if it wasn't for your sibling bickering
Glad you’re moving on to Invincible, another animated program with J.K Simmons.
I'm not sure which one's my favorite, so I'll just point out the one I think you might have missed, appreciate, and is least likely someone else pointed out:
McGucket is shown bonding with his son.
As for the future: I think Dragon Prince would work well for you.
Can't believe it's finally ending!! :') I really enjoyed your reactions to Gravity Falls!!
I'm hoping for Amphibia next 🙏
I'd second Amphibia at some point. It's the last of the trilogy after all 🙂
Hi! I think a show yall might really like is Frieren: Beyond Journey's End!
The animations amazing, it has a very fascinating world, its funny, it has a really good dub, and If I remember correctly its the current highest rated anime on a few of sites, it released over the past year ^^
Also im so happy yall watched this show to completion, its one of my childhood shows (it released 12 years ago the hell) and itll always hold a place in my heart
So Alex hid Bill statue somewhere in the middle of Oregon at the end of the show and tweeted a cipher that revealed the location of the statue. If I am correct, it is still there
It was moved after it was found, but appart from that you are correct!
