It's crazy how this plot predates Doki Doki Literature Club by three years and came out only a few weeks after FNAF. But considering the production cycle this was made much earlier than anything related to FNAF. And Melody's a great character. I wish she showed up more.

Fun fact: The creator of Gravity falls apparently said that one little regret he had was not being able to explore Giffany's backstory a bit more. But he also confirmed that Giffany is still alive. By the way, if you look at Melody´s blouse it says "meat cute", which is a pun about the words "meet cute", a term used to refer to an amusing or charming first encounter between two characters that leads to the development of a romantic relationship between them. Also, this episode was into production after FNAF was teased but both FNAF and DDLC were in development way before this episode was even into production (those two games have very similar concepts with anomatronics and visual novel characters that have a dark side).
Not gonna lie, I kinda want a redemption arc for Giffany. Realistically she's kind of a tragic tale, like at the very least I feel like another route they could have gone was to just talk to her into accepting that Soos didn't like her in the same way (somewhat mirroring Dipper's situation with Wendy, honestly could have been him to do it) but she still becomes an ally and friend. Also could mirror the Sev'ral Timez thing with Mabel of the whole "learning to be a better human" aspect. -Looks at her wiki page and it mentioning in the Journal 3 entry that she's eyeing to woo Rumble McSkirmish- Yeah that sounds about right. Also that would weirdly reflect the whole "Sakura is into Ryu" thing (which I still feel really weird about). XD

I can confirm from personal experience that playing "dating simulator" style games can absolutely help you get over some of the social anxiety of asking someone out. It doesn't help with the rest of your problems but it definitely helps with that part.

I don't know why, but when Giffany started going off on Soos, saying that the other girls wouldn't like him and that they would make fun of him whilst also saying she was the only one that cared felt *really abusive.* I don't know if I'm reading too much into that scene in particular, but it just stuck out to me. It was as if Giffany knew she had a chockhold around Soos and his fragile emotions.
I think one game that can definitely help with social skills and confidence is DnD XD Not even necessarily because of the game itself, but the required social interaction to play it When i first wanted to get into it, i knew no one who was running a campaign, so with no prior experience i just did it myself and i feel like that really helped with my confidence Having to work with other people to have a good gaming experience also thought me a lot about being mindful of their needs and feelings Also having a good time hanging out with a group of people regularly will just naturally lead to strong friendships being formed^^
