    Gentle rain to start the day. Awesome! Ty for sharing.

      It was a good day to work in the building. Cold and windy is not my choice for working outside. I'm sure the plants appreciated the light rain, though. Thanks for following along as always.

    Beautiful sunrise. Let it rain!

      It was a very light rain, and most of it evaporated within minutes of reaching the ground. But it was rain nonetheless. Thanks for following along as always.

    Beautiful morning. Love the sound of that rain. You have a lot of work ahead of you but you have the skill and the right attitude. 64° in the Texas heat sounds wonderful. Thank you for the update and I hope you're having a great day. 20:43

      Thanks for following along with the ranch build. A little at a time, it will all come together. The rain is always welcome at the ranch, even if it's just a little bit. I hope your day will be great too.

    Admire your patience and endurance. What is the name of the tea you drink. Sunrise was beautiful

      Thanks for the compliment and watching as always. I make the tea myself it's a blend of Moringa and dill that I grow. It was a nice sunrise just a little on the cold side with the wind.

    Your installation is picture perfect Simon. I was hoping the rain would turn into a significant storm so we could see the flow. one of these days!

      Thanks for the compliment and following along with the ranch build as always. I try to take pride in everything I do. You should only do it once if it's done right the first time.That holds true for most things anyway. Yes, one of these days I will catch a good rain event at the ranch.

    Truly professionally done as always. I helped an electrician for awhile. Came in handy I was able to do basic stuff when we built and remodeled our houses. Your house is really going to be nice!

      Thanks for watching the progress as always. It will be nice when I finished but it will probably be a few years with the time I have to work on it.

    Timeline. Do you continue talking out loud after you finish streaming? Does your talking out loud help you in your work. Does your inner voice naturally take over during the quite of the day. Do you listen to music or whistle while you work? Just wondering.

    • @TimelineRanch

      Good questions, and thanks for following along with the ranch build. No talking after I am done making the video. Just the sound of wind and work being done. The thoughts stay in my mind as I go through the day. Something may be said out loud if I hit my finger with a hammer, but otherwise, no talking. I do not have a radio at the ranch. I like the sounds of nature more.

    I would like to see you plant some fast growing bamboo if that's allowed in your area. I'm thinking biomass production to fertile your soil is important.

    • @TimelineRanch

      Thanks for following along with the project as always. I do plan on planting bamboo along with a few thousand other plants. I need to finish phase one of the pond to be sure I have a permanent water source, though.

    • @kasperjensen363

      @TimelineRanch Your pond looks like a stabil water source. Maybe start digging holes uphill, seed it and fill it with organic materials. Secure it real good with thorny branches and rocks.
      I'm thinking pumpkin and strawberry to get some ground cover. Raspberries maybe.

    • @TimelineRanch

      @kasperjensen363 The pond is currently dry. It has not rained on the ranch, but once at the start of the year and it was only enough to put a few inches of water in the bottom of the pond, which has since dried up. All of the higher elevations on the ranch are solid rock. There is no soil to dig holes in. I need to do a video showing what the upper section of the ranch is in more detail. It's all rock with a small amount of soil between the cracks of some of the rocks, which is where the grass and everything else grows currently. I have a bunch of ideas, but they will take time to do. The pond is on the top of my to-do list. Water is the most important thing at the ranch for now.

    • @kasperjensen363

      @TimelineRanch thank you for sharing. I am new to your kind of climate and elevation. Seems so obvious to me, just dig a hole and fill it with "goodness".
      Not that simple 🤔

    • @TimelineRanch

      @kasperjensen363 It's a challenging environment to work in, but it has potential. Date palms will play a big factor in making it a true oasis. The perfect fit they like the heat. They produce quite a bit of biomass along with an edible fruit and shade. I'm currently growing a 100 of them at the house. To get them a little stronger before I take them out to the ranch.

    How deep do you have to go down for the 64 degree temp? I have always been interested in making a root cellar. Nice work out there.

    • @TimelineRanch

      Thanks for following along with the ranch build as always. If you go down three feet, it stays that temperature here. I'm sure your area is much colder, though.

  • @MyLifeOfStones

    Hey there my friend. Question, can you use a shed as a temp house to get an address to the property or do you have to build an actual house first ? Or is there another way to get the address mail box ?

    • @TimelineRanch

      Honestly, I wouldn't have a clue. I have not looked into the matter due to the ranch being so far out that they will not deliver mail. I plan on getting a P.O. box in town just to have a point for me to pick mail up later when I live there full-time. If you are able to find out the requirements, I would be interested to know myself. Thanks for following along with the ranch build as always.

    • @MyLifeOfStones

      @@TimelineRanch Yea, what I am having issues with, is that not everyone will ship to a POBox. And if you are homeless trying to get land to call home, a POB requires you to have an adress in the first place. This is to prevent the homeless from getting mail. As absurd as that sounds, I have ran into that a lot in several states. Bottom line, if you are down and out, you are kicked to stay homeless.

    • @TimelineRanch

      @MyLifeOfStones The system's not set up to help people get back on their feet. It almost seems as if it's designed to keep you from succeeding. It's sad that is the case. I would think there has to be a way around it, though.

    • @MyLifeOfStones

      @@TimelineRanch There isn't. I have tried to find loopholes or ways. There isn't any. They have thuroughly thought of ways to PREVENT people from doing what you are doing, from living off-grid. Example : New Mexico, when the "Garbage Warrior" started to make Earth Homes, the state went after him and even took his architect licsense away from him. So he faught the senate and after a decade of fighting, he won the ability to allow us to make experimental homes in NM. But, since then, NM has made many rules and laws in order to prevent further experimentation, unless you pay a TON of money. This is how corrupt our legal system and government really is.

    Out of protest for what happened with the American election I am unsubscribing from all the American content creators. It is a small protest with little impact, but at least I am following my own conscience. It is nothing personal, and I wish you all the best with your project and your dream. But right now I am too much shocked and angry about what happened, and I can't just sit and watch and do absolutely nothing. So with pain in my heart I say goodbye to you and your channel. Perhaps when the situation in the U.S. changes I might return. But for now I have enough of American society. America is no longer the country that I used to admire. And to be honest I think that the worst has yet to come, and there is no other country that I fear more than the U.S.

    • @TimelineRanch

      Thanks for following along with the ranch build over the years. I have no control over anything that happens in my country, just as you have no control over yours. The only thing I have the ability to do is build a little oasis in the desert and hopefully inspire others to do the same. I'll keep making the magic happen the way I always do. Maybe in some years, you will have one of the ranch videos come across your feed and get a big surprise on how much it's changed. I wish you all the best in what makes life worth living for you.

      @@TimelineRanch Thank you for your kind words. I do not blame you personally. Maybe some day my anger will settle a little. But for now I want to make a statement. I do hope, and I am pretty much convinced, that you will succeed in what you want to accomplish. And maybe one day we will meet again under different circumstances.

      @insAneTunA The one thing I've learned over the years is that everything will change. That's just how the world is. I'm sure we will talk sometime in the future.
