It always amazes me how humble Greg is. You wouldn't know you've just been talking to the mastermind behind the greatest rock band of all time.
Really so. I have all their albums. Just got latest CD with David (RIP) and I can’t wait for their next one. What I’ve noticed with BBT is that they are always great and with every other period of time they get greater and greater. I’m glad he mentioned VDGG, as ever since I was exposed to them in 1976, then Genesis, etc., I could never listen to regular rock, let alone pop. Ever since I discovered them I feel saved. Finally I can listen to my favourite music again.
I thought I didn't like VDGG, but I ended up giving them more chances than I would most bands, only because of hearing Greg talk about them. Sure enough, they eventually clicked for me. Now I'm a fan. (Of course, I always loved Genesis.)@@mihaliprefti2507
Wonderful and insightful interview. Greg Spawton strikes me as one of the nicest, most down to earth and mature musicians.
I've never heard Bard, but some people say it's their favorite BBT album. Can't wait for a reissue!
I don't have a copy of Bard, but have heard a couple of songs (Last English King). So a reissue will be welcome.
I love the Far Skies, Deep Time EP, especially The Wide Open Sea epic. On my original 2010 version, track 1 is Master of Time, a great Ant Phillips song, but I usually skipped the Fat Billy (track 2). However when I bought the 2017 remix, starting the EP with the wonderful Kingmaker, the musical flow into Fat Billy makes more sense and so I don't skip that song anymore!
Such a nice honest genuine guy....no ego!
I know, Greg's not bad either
After such a tragedy, you can't but wholeheartedly wish BBT all the success and life satisfaction as they go forward.
Very interesting interview.
Great interview. When I bought Bard from Malcolm at GFT back in the day, I had no idea I was part of such a select group!
Great interview with Greg, .... he’s always so down to earth and articulate with regard to his history, BBT music and his musical influences. Illuminating tales as always. 👍
Wow!!! Bill Bruford, Steve Howe and Greg Spawton!!! You are my hero!!! ❤️❤️❤️👍
I’m so happy to be able to approach BBT from this perspective too. Thank you for this interview.
Please PLEASE !!! also reissue English Electric Part One. I can't find it on CD at any price. Great Interview - So glad you're going to carry on. So very Sorry about David, but you guys Definitely have a big future...Cheers, Jesse
That Greg’s a nice bloke
Very good interview. I endorse all the comments already posted.
Thank you! Good interview, I do enjoy Big Big Train. They make great music!
Brilliant interview, thank you...
Another great interveiw, thanks 😊
Another wonderful interview! Thank you, Sir.
Excellent interview. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great stuff! I always thought that I was the only one that love BBT. Probably in Norway anyhow.. How to be a part of the "club" of prog is always the hardest part. Who to like and who to hate. What is prog and is it good enough prog. I am an always follower of marillion, the Fish era especially. But I have much more bands that noone has ever heard of. But some band has been totally beeen ignored. Like Kayak.
No longer a patreon, unfortunately, new card, but I need more from europe. Not everything in music has been created in britain. You have all of the advantages as your language has most of the words, but there is more stuff out there. And much more Arena please.
Wobbler. Great Norwegian band...from a uk fan.
