I always have been particularly fond of Holman's Bibles, beautifully printed, laid out, and designed. My very first Bible, which my mother gave me and which was passed down through the ladies on her side of the family, was a leather-found New Testament; it would be only later that I had a complete Bible for my own use. One thing, though, disturbs me. Holman tends only to include some, not all, of the A.V. (K.J.V.) translators' marginal notes. (I don't know if this is the case with this study Bible, no having seen it yet.) Some that are left out in the Holman Bible which I have seen are grievous omissions of this kind, as I found when I tried to witness to Muslims from a Holman Bible in the Turkish sector of historic Kurdistan. One never knows what will turn out to be of particular value in a situation, and it is best to respect the wisdom of the A.V. translators and to include all of their "helps".

There is not a single KJV bible, study bible or otherwise, that is going to contain every single original 1611 translator's note or reference other than a 1611 facsimile or reprint. The Holman Study Bible featured in this video does contain a ton of useful information, much from the original translators, that pertains to what Hebrew or Greek root words were used and why we have the specific English rendering in the KJV. It also provides literal definitions and translations of many words. It's a great study bible.
I've looked at a lot of other study bibles which have run at either the same price as this, as well as even higher, and I must say, Tyndale and Nelson don't really hold a candle to Holman when it comes to construction, I picked up the Holman NKJV study bible about a year ago, and I am really impressed with it.
My father is old school. He uses Tyndale. Loves it. I use the Holman KJV study Bible. It's my first STUDY Bible ... I think. Or maybe I once had a Tyndale and didn't use it for STUDY. No matter, I love it. The only thing I don't like overly much are the NAMES. The names are written out by syllables. But, that makes sense, since it is a STUDY Bible after all. Otherwise, I love everything about it. In fact, I keep it in the box to preserve it.
It was important to select a studybible to be used in conjunction with the KJV Thompson Chain Reference. I selected the NKJV Holman Study Bible. I added 126 pages for my notes on a variety of different subjects not in the Holman. The black soft imitation cover is quite acceptable. The inner blank pages (40) along with many other pages that are more than 50% blank are made lined for more notes. It has become my Goto Bible.

The Nelson has larger print in a smaller carrying size which is nice. Both are excellent choices so it really comes down to your preference.

Plus different people believe different doctrines so it once again all comes down to personal preference. The pieces of commentary we have read in the Holman Study Bible seem very sound.

It's only an 8.5 font and I had a stroke in my left eye so I hope I can read it ok . God bless you , I dont want to overwhelm myself as I've got the thomas nelson kjv study bible and read the n testement and studies first then from issaiah to malachi prophesy s now I'm on genesis, I've read the bible 5 times in 8 years , I'm still stuck in addiction to opioids because I'm disabled and in chronic pain but I've prayed and prayed to be healed and set free, but there must be a reason . I'm never gonna quit my faith in Jesus Christ.
