Pete Robinson is one of the great ones in the Cattle Hauling Industry. He is not cocky, mouthy, or nasty. I always enjoy seeing Peterbilt Pete, although in today's world about the only time I get to see Pete Robinson, Mark Smith, Bobby Parker or Brooks Carroll is at the Cow Haulers Roundup. It is a one day event so you have a lot of cow haulers to visit with in a short period, so you need to start early and talk fast or you won't get to see them all.

Frank Sanders. You made a real classic here. If you go out to the west to Brownwood, Texas and interview Alfred Elwiss. He was Pete's Brother in law for a long time. And go farther west on Hwy 90 to Valentine. And get an interview with Red Brown. And a few more. There are still a few left around. But you don't want to wait to long a time.
You want to keep up your great job of maintaining your integrity. And if you want, Fred Beverage and I can introduce you to some good people.
Frank, in just my opinion, you're doing a great job. And I'm sure Fred would be willing to help thanks

I have known Pete since the days I drove for Sonny Campbell out of El Paso, TX. Boy, were those the days!! We had big, pretty, and fast trucks for those times. Cattle were plentiful; the National Herd numbered over 130 million head of cattle. Today it is less than 90 million; we had 40 million more cattle to haul. We mostly had triple deck trailers as most of the cattle were small. They went mostly to pasture, so we got to haul them again coming off of pasture.
There never was a dull moment with Pete around; between him and Jerrell Lee Haberer, they kept me in constant trouble; trouble I didn’t mind getting into. El Paso in the fall and winter time was a mecca for cattle trucks, due to Mexican cattle crossed and went to all places, mostly CA and AZ. The summer time we hauled out of Florida, Lakeland, Zolfo Springs, Wachula, Okeechobe, Zephyr Hills and other places; now there’s some stories!! Those cattle went mostly to TX Panhandle and CA. From El Paso Truck Terminal to Miami, FL was 2000 miles one way. We were making about 8 cents a mile, running single, running double, first driver made 6 cents, 2nd driver made 5 ½ cents.
Joe Horn and I ran for 40 days and 40 nights one time, and the only time we stopped any amount of time was to get the oil changed. We ran over 42,000 miles and never came into El Paso; mostly FL to all parts. If you want stories, attend the Cow Haulers Reunion in Cranfills Gap, TX, the first weekend in March. You will not be disappointed. Those days have passed and I do not think we will ever see them again!
Pete is a legend and I am proud to call him my friend. The old timers are fading fast, 5 per year, and it won’t be long before we are just memories.
    God Bless all Bull Haulers
Johnny Orr - Another bulled up Pill Hauler!!

You remember Florida Beef Producers outside Pensacola, FL just north of Milton, Fl? Ran for Ronny Golden back then and hands today would not believe or understand how we drove trucks with no AC, Power Steering, or sleeper in some trucks. Drove a Mack with a 300 in it and thought I had hit the lotto by the way it pulled. It sure beat the Cummins 220 hands down. Had a friend drive for Sonny and he said it was the best job he ever had.

This reminds of my old trucker buddy named dale garner who ran back in the 80s his cb handle was just passing through. He drove a black 359 with a 4 and a quarter cat. He stopped one time in Louisiana doing 125 in a 55 by a state bear on thanksgiving. I would love to hear more stories from you. My dream was to drive a cattle pot, but I got diagnosed with a super rare autoimmune neuromuscular disease in 2012. Im 33 and I’ve been disabled for a decade. I haven’t been in a truck in 11 years.

Frank is a good man. He has worked really hard at being an American. I'm proud of him. A lot of people that were born here should try to be good Citizens as he does.
