My type of Bull hauling is like Montfort did it back in the bad old days Especially in the Late 70’s early 80’s. In a W-900 with an Aerodyne bunk and a big ole Kitty Kat.I have a great pic as my screensaver. They were still rocket ships but the beef is frozen, butchered and boxed. Owner was still paying speeding tickets. Not sure about reckless driving or worse. Things were changing. Roads were getting bad. I’d worry now about speeding tickets putting a crimp in my life style CDL and all.
Hey big Jim, I’m sitting at the Love’s in Brush, CO and was just wondering. They’re are a few cattle trucks here at the truck stop and I can’t remember which video maybe this one where you’ve said knew guy I guess who got busted at these scales; anyways, I was guessing did you come to Cargill here from Nebraska and it might be a silly question but did you brings fats or was it railers? I was just curious. Where did they bounce you from afterwards. I know you’ve hung up the trucking thing, but I’ve been interested into getting into it ever since watching your videos. Have a Great day
Going that way I have went to both Cargill and five rivers in Kersey, with fats and feeders respectively. After unloading I would typically bounce to Nebraska to reload, but on occasion I would reload railers out of Kersey going to Texas.
Awesome! Thanks for the reply! Hope everything’s going good for you your way! I’m hoping to get my feet wet and jump into it. I’ll reach out once again and give you an update if I have any more questions or if I get into it. Hopefully I will! Thanks for the response Big Jim. I really appreciate it!
We used to push the shit down below then close the traps and put some water in the belly if it got super windy then open them up and help which ever state we were in . We were part of " American Fertilizers Organization" . If an HP seen us we just told them we have " diplomatic immunity"
First thing before wanting to haul animals is are you comfortable around cows in tight areas because things can get spooky in a hurry if you dont know what to do.
I was going to start hauling livestock until Will Craig & Danyl ripped me off. Lied to me and used me to only pick up a new truck for their just finished trainee. I was used to pick up a Kenworth run to NB, then to WY to do all this running around to make the truck legit.
@@bigjimne well shoot that’s lame you would think they’d be ok with it, that’s what their for if they’re trained right not to bite or puncture! Thanks for the info, looking to possibly get into bull hauling after the year with my buddy
Best of luck to you. And I understand your side, but from their point of view they don't know your dog and even if it is properly trained they don't want idiot billy letting his mutt make a mess out things because they let you use your good dog.
Simple answer is I knew the right people. I grew up in rural Nebraska and have worked with cattle and knew bull haulers. For me it was about who I knew and that's how I got my foot in the door. My drive and work ethic is what propelled me to where I'm at
I appreciate this video so much !!! Learning so much about bull hauling !! One day I will get there 🙏🏽❤️ god bless keep on trucking !
Learned the hard way pulling outlaw hotshot years ago you always keep a set of tools and common parts/items on your rig.
Dude that was great !!! Looking forward to the next one !!!
Thanks,Big Jim. It was very informative.
Thanks for the intel! The wife wants haul cows and I'm not in the mood, lol! But here I am doing the research....
Don’t let this be your only source of information

Another good one Jim. Thank You
Livestock Network has a job list
Got to get used to the movement of the cattle even when you're driving you can feel them moving around.
Did this job during seventys and early eighties tuff job it's good if you have experience with livestock.

Greeley brush and Fort Morgan are my stomping grounds.

Lol they were only running 75 mph ..it just seemed like they were hauling ass cause the rest were going 55
I'm with you on Hertford they don't break bones as bad as Angus and a better all around cow but I'm sure others disagree lol
When you go into turns do you have to steer the tractor to move the cattle to shift the weight
Not really. Mainly just have to take turns and curves slow and smooth

Why don't bull wagons have crank down landing gear ? Is it a weight issue ?
What’s the requirements to get into livestock hauling
Can you show loading cattle videos
Definitely want to. I have to wait until my lovely wife gets to come with me though to get it done
I mainly picked up that it is what it is
Bull hauler s are the celebrity truck driver's...o
Wish I knew how to get into this life

So I have a question! How do ppl and facilities feel about a cattle hauler having a herding dog co-pilot to help load cattle?
They're not a fan 99% of the time.

Most farmers or ranchers have dogs around the place. Your dog will get you into trouble more often than not. Just saying!

Don't even think about bringing a dog on my place.
Ya see any action when you're at the rest areas us know Bud
Ya know how
How do meet a bull hauler?
Says the video can't play
Just put it up. Try again and see if it works. I just tried and it's working for me now
How’d you get into Bull hauling?

Big Jim Fair enough
I heard dat dem critters got mad cow disease and you bull haulers caught it.
I’m not being funny but I know that truck stink driver!!! I just can’t see how not
Best way to see what hauling livestock is like is go pull a loaded tanker that has no baffles
Not humane lol but having 35 cattle jammed in a filthy trailer for hundreds of miles and in all extreme weather conditions is humane
35 isn't a load. That's why they don't lolly gag getting to their destination. BEEF....it's what's for dinner.
🤓 shut up
