This was the first comment I saw when I opened the video. My first thought as I was watching the game was “Staley is dropping a lot of ball this season.” Then he makes the catch to win the game. Crazy
Glad you addressed it at the end- it’s absolutely time to do something about the Holding slider. The update clearly threw it way out of balance. (You might also look at the Catching slider- lots of strange drops today). Given that, it’s hard to evaluate this game in terms of player performance- it feels unfair to harp on the inconsistent passing game when so many penalties were forcing you to throw early and often. But it’s well past time to put someone other than Austin Harris at WR2; his skills are limited and the things he supposedly does well (Spec Catch and physicality) just haven’t showed up for the last season and a half, and he’s hard-capped, so he won’t be growing any more. Surely Weatherspoon or Pollard would add more to the offense than Harris’ 4 REC/19 YD performance from this week.
Yea,I play on canes sliders but I have the update and I had to reduce it by 5,and may just go back to 50. The holding calls were and still kinda are killing my dynasty rn. And I dropped it a couple of seasons ago
Wasn’t Harris also supposed to play one of the safety spots and we’ve never seen him at safety. Depending on how much time Harris got Cane could slide him over to TE. I do it in my dynasty with WR that are capped and they develop pretty well
I have never seen a game so held up by holding calls in a Cane game, that’s honestly pretty dynamic for the series. Just to see if he can overcome the discipline problems his guys have and still succeed is a really fresh touch to the series
What an ending but I know practice is gonna be hell this week I wouldn’t be surprised if the coaches didn’t tie the lines hands behind their backs so they can’t hold
When I saw Cajuste come in at 9:09, I knew things were about to get fun, hahahahahaha! And Staley WAS contested on that 2 point play! Cajuste, for whatever reason, is also running to that spot and breaks up the pass from Staley 21:28! Never change Kevin... Never change... This team is definitely more lucky than good right now. Might come to cost them eventually. Assuming the holding gets cleaned up with a slider tweak, the clear offensive game plan should be running the rock and forcing teams to go single high, which Staley and Trejo can take advantage of. Great win nonetheless, Cane!
My theory for how Cane is convincing all these 4-star recruits to go to Buffalo is Khalil Mack is convincing some rich NYC bankers to donate to the NIL collective and they’re selling recruits on the NIL benefits. Why get $100,000 at an SEC school when you get $250,000 in the MAC??
holy moly. and I thought last week's win was lucky. I have no idea what you're supposed to do to fix the penalties with all of the holding calls, since guys like Camarda and Burns are SUPPOSED to be some of you best lineman. just take the dub and run, dont look back lmao
Win is a win, feels kinda weird havin Meier essentially waste his freshmen season as a backup. But also, he still contributes, so that’s nit picking. I also whole heartedly agree about reducing the holding call slider
When it comes to the holding slider, I had to lower it to 53 from 55. At 55 I could get multiple holding penalties in a row on multiple drives all game. And this was with good linemen! At 53 it seems like I get 3-5 of them a game on even to underdog matchups. They do mostly disappear when my line is significantly better, but that should be the case I would think.
It always amazes me that whenever the CPU needs a drive no matter how good your defense has played they will march right down the field every single time
Cane, make sure all lineman are in their correct spots. I notice the CPU puts my lineman where they think they are best and if they don’t have the right traits they will play considerably worse
I have been trying to tell Cane that Jon Burns belongs at OT. If only he'd moved Burns there and played Henery at that ever troublesome LG spot like I suggested. (Sighs.)
Cane you have got to imitate the stokley down the sideline call for staley, it would honestly be this team's fight song. AND THIS GAME WOULDA BEEN PERFECT WHAT A FINISH!!!!
Exactly. Honestly cane should have lost that game but I knew he was going to do exactly what he did lol. I mean that’s cool I guess but I don’t play like that in my dynasty I just feel like it’s cheating in a way.
Thank God for Lampman. I really like this series. I would like to see the Bulls be a bit more dominant against UCONN, but a win is still good. It does appear that Colston is struggling in the mid-tier passing game and it may be time to see if Pacheco can add a little better playing at the QB position. He could also add a better element to the running game and take some pressure off the o-line with his ability to run when things break down, and that could help prevent some holding calls in the long run. The LB's are playing well but our D-line is still not getting off blocks well enough in the middle, have we looked to see if anyone has better ratings in the middle and could help out there. Not telling you what to do, just asking. But block shedding is key for interior D-line to be effective, more so than any other stats, we force the QB to leave the pocket, and the D-ends will feast.
@@DolFan316 I do agree with you that Trejo could take that role. Hopefully we can find that WR2 in the portal or we see great development from the other guys cause if not, we might be screwed
Cane, I run the same sliders and had to cut holding down to 53 because it was ridiculous! Discipline trait didn't matter either, anything outside, a flag was thrown!
I just hope Cane doesn't get arrested for grand larceny because he flat out STOLE that game. Then again it evens out the absurd bad luck from the Saints series.
We are lucky but lets not forget how far we have come. Every year a better class and every year this team improves more from the previous year. Im starting to think Cane will double the number of 4stars on this team in 1 class.. We will finally have some secondary speed next year developed.. This team has an excellent foundation set. Few bumps down on the holding slider and let this core develop into a consensus top25 team we have waited for, for 5 seasons.. Can we forgive Cajuste? He has been humiliated thoroughly. These bench Colston ppl must be cowboy fans.. Not with the reality. Much love much peace
23:01 seems like there might be a mistake in the editing here and kinda spoils it but none the less yet another amazing episode cane. edit: I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT’S HAPPENING. 💀 it really looked like there was a clip of uconn players about to rush the field after a win
I do think at some point we're gonna need some house rules on those streaks for the hyper fast receivers....the AI just doesnt defend them and it becomes way too easy for guaranteed long TD passes. Feels like a lot of these games they'd be Buffalo blowout losses if not for the AI not defending the deep ball properly
Yeah I agree. When I play my dynasty I rarely do that with my receivers when the cb play press because I feel like I’m cheating because it’s almost always open. Plus the computer seems to play press coverage even more late in the game which is stupid. Ea has to fix that because every person I watch play just keeps abusing it and it’s kind of annoying honestly. Every once in a while is fine but damn lol
That should start to fix itself in the off-season with off-season training. And the only reason I say that is because I have a Kent State dynasty and around year 5-6 everybody starts to get speed. These MAC schools are super slow to start off
Weird game to judge with all the holding calls. Colson looked way better running game looking good and even cajuste looked good! Defense played well. Felt like it could have been 28-15 easily. On to Temple 😊
What a finish. Satisfying too, considering the opponent. The holding penalties seem really unbalanced. User controlled teams seem to commit far more holding penalties than CPU controlled teams.
Maybe it's time to accept the 3yds and a cloud of dust offense isn't working. Go with what works. Spread teams out and pass. Then later on once you get a leas you can go back to your 50s offense 😂😂😂
I think you need to look into adjusting the holding slider because the amount of holds borders on too much. I had to put it to default in my slow sim dynasty because on pretty much every outside run they'd call holding and the slider was only at 54 🤷🏼♂️
The recent updates have really stepped up the CPU defense playcalling. Half the game it feels like they know what’s coming and the penalties have been weird too
great episode man the annotations are here to stay tears in my eyes bro ps cane i’m begging you brother please change enrique’s gloves them 3.5 superbads are not the wave at wr nit picky ik im sorry
As a Texans fan it didn't even cross my mind that you could adjust the holding call sliders. I've just become so accustomed to offensive line penalties, lol.
I counted seven holding penalties, wth an eighth being declined. Clinkscale had one, with Burns, Baptiste and Camarda having two each. Yes, I took notes.
If you get a ton of holding calls on run plays, it means you are running too much... If a specific player gets a lot of holdings on run or pass plays its probably a player trait.
I wish these games took more that overall into account when starting players because their QB had a great year last year and led them to a conference championship and he gets benched the next year
Holding calls was one sided and crazy in C4 video too, couldn’t finish it tho cause he can’t NOT throw a red pass then blame it on the “throw power” or cpu
Before jumping to changing the Holding Penalty slider, take a look at the players being called for holding during the games. Are these disciplined players? Are these reckless/undisciplined players? Simply changing the sliders to reduce holding penalties, regardless of the player traits, means cheating the game by making player traits irrelevant. If you want to reduce penalties, try recruiting players with the disciplined trait. If those disciplined players are being caught on holding calls, then the slider should probably be adjusted. If not, then the problem isn't in the sliders - instead it's in the recruiting process.
The streets will always remember the “F it, Staley down there somewhere” offense.
But it doesn’t count because the whole line was holding.
When Staley graduates, you're really going to have to figure out some things.
Enrique Trejo he wears #1
F--- it, Staley is down there somewhere
Trejo could genuinely play that role
I’m excited to see what he does and who emerges

Harris might be the best blocking receiver on the team tho idk if the game goes how it does without him freeing up that run
I completely agree, I think he should change his position to best overall available. Especially if it’s on defense
Wasn’t Harris also supposed to play one of the safety spots and we’ve never seen him at safety.
Depending on how much time Harris got Cane could slide him over to TE. I do it in my dynasty with WR that are capped and they develop pretty well
Austin Harris at FS

5:39 - Looks like Damien Parris transferred BACK to Notre Dame after one season at Charlotte. Interested to see his stats from last year.
I have never seen a game so held up by holding calls in a Cane game, that’s honestly pretty dynamic for the series. Just to see if he can overcome the discipline problems his guys have and still succeed is a really fresh touch to the series
It’s time to do something about these holds. It’s just completely unrealistic at this rate.

When you’re on the road, you have to move the arrow a lot further over on the hashes to be accurate. It’s a weird setting, but it’s the way CFB works.
23:30 Is the GOAT play in the history of all Cane serieses. Prove me wrong. I just can't stop watching it. 🤩🤩🤩

Yeah they do and I feel like people take advantage of that way to much.

@pandazorrao458 You apparently do.
The unreal amount of dark magic being used to bail Cane out is sickening. This team is nowhere near as good as their 4-1 record.
He NEEDS all that dark magic just to counteract the CPU's determination to call holding on his O-line. I'll allow it. 😎
Team fully deserves to be 4-1
Cane’s playing abilities are a hard F, he is the only reason this team struggles
Braylon Staley is by far the most clutch player cane has ever had.
