Illegal move should be penalized only when the move is completed, I mean when the clock is pressed. Here it was not pressed. Hence illegal move made was not penalized. Completed illegal move should be penalized.

So GM Aravindh should not call the arbiter since clock is not yet pressed. But the arbiter has to be called, otherwise the time of Mihir will fall. The move was illegal since the king is under checked and the Queen touched could not protect the King. So the arbiter should penalize Mihir, unless the rule says otherwise.

GM prevailed because he was calmer and stronger in the endgame. Eventually, he zugzwang White. Unfortunately, White could not convert his advantage in the middle game.

starting 20 moves white had advantage in so many positions ...maybe it was blitz they were just playing with the intution ....not so much time to calculate each line of different variations in advantageous position ....i will have to analyse the whole game with the engine though ...but surely this 1500 player will attain a title atleast an NM norm ...having said that earlier he defeated 3 IM and 1 GM

The problem here with white is that.. he tried to attract the king side with G and h pawns, prepared his officials but then completely stopped and went on defensive mode😌😌.... Probly the 1500 hundred pressure kicked in...
4:33 When they where discussing illegal move stuff Mihir should have kept focus on board as There was double attack possibility on knight after simple Rg4 when the game started again... I guess that was simple and strong move... He should have let the Arvind explain stuff to arbitrator and should have kept finding his chances by "focusing on the board" first...There must be many more chances as well..Tough luck Mihir!

Once played an open tournament against an IM when I was an intermediate beginner (i didn't had rating that time) It ended in a white rook up end game (I was white)but my beginnee isntincts somehow managed to draw that easy win

The problem With that kind of board is You cant properly place the pieces
White has many chances to win but under time pressure he was not handled....
Queen was touch piece but a legal move with touch piece was not possible and hence touch was ignored.
Much stronger than the opponent, GM or whatever.. he did not plan in time for an pressure draw when the white king is rattled along the F, G and H files.. even if he draw , he would have a good point lead,, alas.. Congrars Mihir- you ll go places.. could not see your face at the end of it.. come on, its a quite starting step in the ugly marathon of chess. Gods there
