as a shorter fighter I appreciate this. Thanks for these videos. I'm trying to figure out my game as a shorter fighter and looking to see what others are using. Really love your videos. Signed up for your courses!!!
Zambidis is so basic.. yet.. so solid. Like a mini Tyson. Simple combos. Left right. Momentum + flanking. Brilliant... The power lifting equivalent of contact sports.
Right overhand - left hook - right midkick, multiple hook combinations with mid or highkick, offensive combinations with mixed defensive movements, jumping switch knee, sometimes extends to a kick, front kick fake - superman punch, overall pressure, kicking and punching from mid to close distance. Great video , by the way :)
Your videos are awesome! They've helped me so much in sparring and it's just fun trying out all of the different tactics and seeing what works for oneself. Will definitely be trying out your free course.

Your kind words and you watching my content is already enough support! I hope all the best to you as well, lets stay in touch!!
Really good explanation, you don't leave anything and you make sure you do your work well, and that's what I like about your videos. I have learned so much from you. I train muay Thai, bjj and MMA, and I do use your moves during my sparring session. Keep up the good work and is it possible if you could upload videos on groundwork, wrestling, some bjj for MMA? Anyways again keep up the good work
Yes, the 2nd hand does a lot in reducing the impact. In fact, both hand blocking will still hurt against a hard kicker, so I like the dutch block as a last resort. One arm blocking will do much more damage.
Thanks. As a muay thai practitioner, we tend to block with just one arm together with chin block. I guess that would have been too slow to counter the leg and won't be able to reduce the impact?
The shin block (checking) is a better option, but it does take a little longer and need to see it coming. I use the dutch block as a las resort if I know I am too late to block with another defence. It is also harder to check Muay Thai style because of my wide stance for MMA.
@@MMAShreddedJust keep doing what you do my bro, you're changing lifes out here. Half the stuff i learned ,was from your videos lol God bless my G and have a great day.
@@MMAShredded yeah I actually got the chance to train with him for the iron challenge and have spared with him a lot Also with buakaw when he came to greece and trained in ur gym for a bit
Great content and breakdown of technique . I like to incorporate some of Zambos techniques into my bagwork and sparring. Some of it works for me and some doesn’t but it’s all good :) Are you planning on doing a breakdown of Robin Van Roosamalens techniques?
thx man! yeah thats the fun thing about being a martial artist, always trying new thing and seeing what works for you and what doesnt. I hope to do Robin eventually but not on my top list as of now.
Great video as usual. Not sure about the dutch block coz the kick arrives fast and powerful and it requests a lot of power in the arms to really block it
Hi Jeff I enjoy watching your videos but I can’t use a lot of your techniques as I do WT Taekwondo. Could you do a video for Taekwondo i.e. no head punches or low kicks? Thanks.
Bro, keep the vids up. The next one you should do is Anthony Pettis. Taekwando with a little bit of kickboxing and muay thai. You should also include his upkicks when he is on his back if you can.
What´s up my bro, thanks for the great content. Didn´t expect Zambidis, guy was one of my fav fighters in K1´s golden times. What is your breakdown about Dillashaw and Garbrandt 2? You think Dillasahw could beat Dominick this time? Guy´s getting better and better.
I think he can, especially every time I think of how Cody DOMINATED Cruz. But I also heard Cruz was suffering some something during that fight so I don't know what to think haha.
Is the Dutch block used in traditional Muay Thai? When Mike fought Buakaw his shoulder was blue by the end of the fight from blocking all those left kicks. Was that a failure of the technique or are you literally meant to tank it with your arms?
Some fighters use the dutch block as their first line of defence, but I personally use it as a last resort, if I see the kick coming too slow and cannot lift catch it or step out of the way in time
jeff i am watching your mini course you know what i love it keep it on bro i really like you videos oh and are you chinese by the way i am korean but i have lived in america for few years i really like you mma style and i wanna be like you
Nice new video , You know I'd really like to learn Muay Thai I mean I'm a black belt in Taekwondo but I been practicing Saenchai and buakaws moves on a heavy bag , Can you suggest any where I can learn ?
Jeff my coach says I should fight with my hands high but I like to fight with them lower and I am good and most comfortable with my hands lower and perform better that way I feel much more creative then with my hands higher what do I tell him so he stops getting upset when I lower my hands
haha hmm... thats a hard one. I would listen to your coach if you are training under him haha. Although I believe in fighting with hands lower (I do my self), I believe there is a level which you reach before you start doing that, a point where you really understand your range etc. I would trust your coach's judgement for now. How long have you been training?
Depend show long you’ve been training and how much fights you’ve had. A seasoned fighter will be able to judge his opponents distance and know how high/low he needs to raise his hands. If you have no fights, or been training for a year then you should just follow your coach- he’s only looking out for you.
Sir I learned boxing at the age of 16 for 6 months and started muay thai at the age of 18 did I started late for muay thai please give me your thoughts?
Besides Zambidis relying so much on hooks, I do like his style quite a bit. I think that roundhouse heel catch, throw off balance, then slam home my own roundhouse could work well against my primary sparring partner. So will The first one, the dutch block into the inside leg kick, perhaps not so much against my primary sparring partner since he doesnt kick high that often, but against some of the other guys. I think Im gonna try out Mikes technique where he dutch blocks or else just flat out absorbs/tanks the hit from the incoming roundhouse and squats down to lower the damage he takes, the immediately counter with a hook - roundhouse. That seems like it could work well esp if im unable to check the kick or if I wanna set a trap. Im gonna try that one - but Im gonna consider it a defensive technique. Its not good to take roundhouse kicks intentionally lol unless you have to. Btw man thanks for making the video this is useful. The things Im already doing Im gonna do more. The things Im not doing yet, or not doing so often Im gonna start doing - on this upcoming tuesday which is my next sparring session. Also thanks for the course bro! Im gonna read it and get back to you. Sorry about not commenting some of the recent videos. I dont get much from watching southpaw fighters, besides a handful(and Im not at the point where Im comfortable fighting in southpaw yet. Besides split second stance switches for switch kicks or for some sort of stance switch combo but thats not really fighting in southpaw). But anyway, Ill try to comment on more of your videos. Thanks for the ideas Man Im gonna put this to use!
Haha but when you do comment, you have lots of interesting things to say! Yes the dutch block I think.. I mentioned it in this video, but I use the dutch block as a last resort. You don't want to dutch block against a strong kicker. Mike Zambidis got owned by Buakaw by constantly dutch blocking. As for the southpaw tactics, I find they still worth watching/learning as an orthodox fighter because you all the tactics will work for you if your fighting a southpaw fighter! Thanks for downloading the course, yes I would love to hear your feedback and suggestions on future courses!
Hey jeff i try All your tactic with my friend who train kickboxing with me the dutch block were effective but i prefer catching thé kick when he kick hard because of the dommage in arms But all tactics were very effective 😉thank you for your job very improve my striking

Love all the videos. Learn a lot each time. A quick question. Why we need the other hand to help block? To reduce the kicking power of the opponent?
Yes, the 2nd hand does a lot in reducing the impact. In fact, both hand blocking will still hurt against a hard kicker, so I like the dutch block as a last resort. One arm blocking will do much more damage.
