Those sample bottles are also great for travel with the original Stirling product, and then afterwards (rinse out with isopropyl alcohol) for any other aftershave or EDT you want to bring for travel.
One of the things I like about Lafayette from Bricktown. It's in the same ballpark as Stirling's. Phil is a service member like Rod and Mandy and now thats got me thinking 🤔
Excellent review Tobin. I’m a big fan of Stirling soaps. My top two are Mountain Man and Island Man. I’m slowly making my way through your older videos. Keep up the great reviews Brother! 🤜🏻 👊🏻 Lindsay 💈
Stirling Barbershop I think was my 1st artisan soap/splash, and then I quickly got the EDT. Classic! I just ordered Tsuka & Light-ish red during their sale. I remember when I 1st really got in to traditional wet shaving I printed out their list of scents (soaps). And I had the naive idea I would get all of their scents via samples 🤣🤣🤣. And then I fell down the rabbit hole. 🐰
I just took delivery of Baker Street, Barber Shop, and Texas on Fire. We all know the first two smell great. Texas on Fire, I gave a lot of sniffs, before I decided I liked it.
That’s one thing a hate about traditional WetShaving, artisan soaps in general…. Once you have so many it’s SO HARD to choose what to use. Because you think you are not being fair to the others lol. Yeah I try to be very fair. I have their system in place to when I use a perticular soap, I put it on the bottom of my soap stack. And I stack according to artisan. It’s a pretty good system. And whatever is on top of each stack, I get to choose from
I need to start something like that. I have my Artisans grouped but I need to find a way to select them like that. I could start with where I have them placed now🙌
Great selections, Tobin!! My personal favourite Sterling (of those I have tried) is Coniferous, followed closely by Vanilla Sandalwood. Sterling’s sample pucks are what I turn any newbie shaver onto first, especially if they don’t have a background in fragrances (I didn’t either). For not a whole lot of coin you get a sample that lasts forever, so you can really live with a scent. Take your time on these videos. Shaving, including videos, lives, and my Insta feed, are my zen time.
Thanks Aaron! I love Coniferous, you sent me that sample but I haven't been able to find the set. When I did the Barry top 10 I deliberately slowed myself down. I appreciate the encouragement, I need to remember that people have a fast forward option 🙌 have a great weekend!
I have multiple tubs of Stirling (Gin & Tonic, Eucalyptus Mint, Lime, & Unscented with Beeswax) and several sample pucks. Stirling Soap performs amazingly. Unfortunately, my wife does not like many smells so I need to be very careful what I choose. She thinks their Bay Rum makes me smell like "Old Man"... I disagree. It is a great scent. I love the Barbershop. The first time I smelled it, it took me back to the smell of the barbershop when I was a kid. I am test-driving Coniforious and Sheep Scots Pine. I like both, however the Coniforious is a more complex scent that I find enjoyable. Keep up the great reviews. BTW, smelling coffee beans between smelling the scents resets your scenes of smell.
Oh man, I'm right there with you I'm about 50/50 as to whether or not the wife likes a fragrance. I bought Coniferous a couple of months back and plan to do an outdoor review with it this weekend. I absolutely love it! Have you tried any of the Bay Rums from Phoenix Shaving? Funny that you mention coffee beans, in the past I have considered using them but didn't want my wife to holler at me and then a few months back I ran it by her and she said that she wouldn't mind. My wife grinds her own beans will it be super easy for me to just grind a little bit for each video like this one. Thanks, Brian!
Wow great collection and top 10 Tobin! I enjoy Stirling but don't have much in terms of full tubs. I do have Sheep, Island Man, Agar, Mountain Man, and Light-ish Red. But I do have 12 1oz sample pucks also. Oz for oz, probably the artisan I have the most of in the den. Oh and the wife and I totally converted to Stirling body butters, lip balms, and coffee. Mandy makes a mean roast! ☕Cannot wait for the next installment! Have a great day! 👊😁
I agree! Love the butters! I need to try a balm, this winter for sure. Still working on one I got from Soap Commander. I forgot to mention the Roastery in the vid! I've had a few and love em too! Rod and Mandy are killing it from every angle!
I did a list for my PAA soaps, in order of how I have em stored. The other Artisans I just have in view and thanks Matt I'm going to like doing these vids.
If you apply cream before your fragrance and spray in pulse points it will last longer. I sprayed executive man in my inner elbow and It lasted many hours.
Awesome video. Yea like I said on the last video I haven't gotten in stirling yet. I have browse the site and I want to try sandpiper, rambling man, bergamot lavender, Gatlinburg, and Pharaoh's dreamsicle. As a side note I don't mind a longer video with the break down on the notes is awesome, and the comparisons between the homages, clone, or inspired by is good to know. Can't wait for the next video in this series.
Those are all winners, I've had samples bergamot, Gatlinburg and Pharaohs. Love em! If you buy direct from them make sure you create an account. Their rewards program is one of the best!
I buy sell and rare a lot but the Stirling scents I currently own are Deep blue sea Sharp dressed man Weekend in Malibu Campania Mountain man And I have samples of British leather, Piacenza, and ramblin’ man I owns alot more though through the 5 years I’ve been Traditional WetShaving
Hey Jordan, I'd definitely say Sandpiper. If you absolutely love Dior's Sauvage then grab it, otherwise for me its Sandpiper. I even have the beard balm of it, it's fantastic! Have a great week Jordan!
Awesome vid bro, don't rush on our behalf. Take your time. If the video takes an hour then it takes an hour. I know you appreciate constructive criticism 🙌 I found a few new soaps in this video 😎🔥😍🙌
Thanks Steve! I wanted to keep it around 20ish. I'll try to take my time more and not rush myself. I just don't want to stretch the video out and lose the viewers attention 🙌 have a great night, and thank you sir!
@@Tobins_throwbacks when I spoke to Rod he said that he was looking for a new source for fragrance oil. So I’m hopeful. As far as spice clones go I have heard god things about burn the ships so maybe that’s next.
I get that a little from the soap, and I think maybe from the splash. I'll definitely pay closer attention now. And I agree! It's so damn good! Like so damn good!
When Tobin rolls his eyes , you know it’s a banger haha! 😚🤌🏻
🤔😁🙌 lol
Love the breakdowns and how barbershop and Bays can vary. Very nice.
Thanks bro! 🙌🙌
@@Tobins_throwbacks Heck yes!!!

I did exactly that with my Sandpiper sample. The label came off nice and clean too 🙌
very nice description of each soap scent, yes the barbershop from stirling reminds me when I was young
Great vid, Brother!!
Some lovely picks!! Haverford would have made my list, too.
Thanks for the kind mention!
Have a great week to come!!
🤜💥🤛
I haven't tried Haverford. I have a sample soap bar. I'll crack it open and give it a go. And thanks brother, you too! Ugh mondays!
@@Tobins_throwbacks Be warned Brother!! It's mesmerizingly hypnotizingly addictive and overpowering!!
Challenge accepted! Lol
@@Tobins_throwbacks 🤭
Stirling’s barbershop was my very first artisan soap. Love the Powdery notes. I agree I critique everyone else’s based off Stirling’s barbershop

@@Tobins_throwbacks They are still in transit, should be here this week.
Oro Valley sounds absolutely amazing!
It is! I got it via the Black Friday sale, smaller tub and aftershave sizes. It is sooooooo good. Tobin was spot on!

I've heard this before but I've yet to try it. I need to remember it this weekend. Thanks!
You need to try Iced Pineapple and Duke, not to mention Haverford and Varen. I killed my two sample of Iced Pineapple.
Never have tried Iced or Haverford. Duke and Varen I had samples of and yes sir, they are definitely must haves!
You have the best shirts btw!
Right?!?

I think I feel in love with Stirling because the HighSchool I went to was “Sterling High”

Oh man, that's tough. I personally would say Sandpiper. It's unlike anything else and it just smells freaking amazing
Dunshire is one that I really want to get some day.
Agreed on the Scarn. What an amazing scent. Layer on some Sauvage aftershave lotion and you're good for the day.

Hi Mom!
i have the piacenza - i love it
It's soo good!
Stirling spice is my all time fav so bummed it’s discontinued.
I agree! I was tempted to put it in this list. With a little luck Maybe they'll bring it back around the holidays or something

If it's not pink, then lighish red is my favourite colour.
Same! 😁
you dont like the Mountain Man?
Oh, I do! I like all of the "Man" fragrances
I know I am a true misfit but I do not like Barbershop, I have at least 13 of the Stirling aftershavesand balms. Love them all except Barbershop...
What's your top 3?
Deep Blue Sea
I still need to try that one!

the reason why barbershop is no nice is that it has talc into the scent , also CAD from phoenix is ok .
