I got a shaving soap sampler a couple weeks ago. Today I ordered three tubs of soap. Barbershop, Baker Street, and taking a chance on Texas on Fire, which I think I’m going to like. I hope my wife likes it.
Rod and Mandy are definitely Killin it man. I'm planning on getting the Ramblin',Lavender and the Oro sounds great. I'm a big fan of Barbershop myself. I love that one. I totally get what you are saying. The soaps are like the appetizer and when you finish it off with the splash..that's when you really appreciate the scents.Great video man.
@@Tobins_throwbacks I just ordered some oro and some of the ramblin'.. I look forward to trying these out. I've seen a lot of great things being said about ramblin'
Great video Tobin! I’m a huge fan of Stirling’s products. I own 4 of the 5 from your list and I agree with you 100% 😎 Awesome scents at an affordable price!
About to get a massive sampler delivery from Stirling and this has helped. Excited to try them all out and force myself to learn bowl lathering since it's a bunch of 1oz sample pucks for the soaps
I love Stirling as well. I 100% back you on your choices. Though I myself also find it really hard to pick favorites. A couple years back (I think) I picked up 5 samples that included, Sandpiper, Mountain Man, Piacenza, Arkadia and Haverford. This was after picking up full sizes for Ramblin' Man, Executive Man and Light-Ish Red. Needless to say, these are all great in their own right and I'm my top ten, if not top five. I definitely want to pick up some more full sizes from my sample lot and some others I've had my eyes on. Rod and Mandy just make so many good choices.
Thank you! I love Stirling and I couldn't believe it when I heard the other day that Oro Valley just came back! Got to grab the balm and solid before it's gone lol. Have a good one!
@j65724 yeah that's the one I was just making sure that you had seen it that you can get that handle on other razors good deal the Dual comb one the Ascension is one of my favorite de razors
Thanks! I just was looking at the email this morning. I have edt, splash and soap of Faskally I need the balm. I also don't have Algheri. I'll definitely have to put in a order so I can grab some balms including a couple of Oro Valley. Thanks brother for the heads up!!
Ohhhhh, bugger! I missed an opportunity to get Oro Valley, because i forgot it was Ombre Leat😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭That scent is right up there in the stunningly gobsmacking territory ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
😂They do not ship outside of the US, and that is the case with a lot of the craft soap makers, I guess it is not profitable to ship outside the country, pity. They have alot of fragrances that sound nice. Cheers Tobin💈🪒💈
I agree, very frustrating. I have Baker Street from Stirling which I wasn’t a huge fan of but would like to try some more. But I’m based in the UK and difficult to get a hold of their soaps
I don't believe there is any connection. The notes are Cardamom, Bergamot, Cedar, Lavender, Vetiver, and Caraway. It's sophisticated and crisp and very masculine. It's Inspired by YSL La Nuit de l'Homme Translated I believe that means the Night of the Man. Damn good question, I'm not positive but I'm confident saying no connection. Hope this helps, if you ever hear otherwise I'd love to know because now you piqued my curiosity👍
Seems to be an arbitrary name,@@Tobins_throwbacks, unrelated to the scent . . . which is uninformative or even misleading. (Imagine buying a bottle called "Encre Noire" only to find it contained CK Everyone.) Stirling naming conventions are not always like that. Varen-Fern-is on-point for a green fougère. Glacial Peach gives a consumer a pretty good idea of what he's in for. But Rambling Man? Could be stale beer, dirty feet, and exhaust fumes.
Affordability is a concept with some unexpected ways. Imagine buy a 2 ounce soap for about 15 dollars, and could give about 200 shaves! But Stirling soap puck refills are (I forgot exactly but I think) 4 ounces. Definitely affordable.
Been wanting Scarn for a while.. but I can't stand Ramblin' Man. Smells like elderly scent to me.. not my cup of tea. No Haverford though? I'm surprised

Thanks so much, Tobin. Great choices, and I love the backdrop.
Absolutely, Tobin! A "barbershop " scent is not only dependent upon geographical location, but also upon your own memories.
Right?!?!!? It amazes me how so many people don't understand this, then they run down fragrances and companies because of it
Great list. Its hard to narrow down as Stirling has so many good ones.
It really is! Thanks Mike!
Another great quick 5. Rambling man is my favorite
It's Good Stuff!
Great ramnling five, Tobin.
I like executive man. I've used both the soap and the aftershave. Steven
It's one of my favorite clones of Aventus
Have a good one!
I like the analogy about soap being a bad medium for fragrance. Great top 5
Thanks brother 🙏
My favourite Stirling scents, from my experience of their soaps:
Haverford
Varen
Iced Pineapple
Noir
Teatree
Duke
Almond Creme
Frozen Tundra
I want the Tea Tree, I missed it! Have a good one Lee!
@@Tobins_throwbacks you too, Tobin
Great Top 5!!!! 🪒💈✌️
Thank you! Have a good one!
Tobin! That Lon Lon shirt is badass!
I still need to buy BOTW2
Like the quick 5 videos Tobin. Keep those going 😊
Thanks David!!! Hope you've had a great summer brother +
All great choices.
Thanks, Patrick!
Yet again brother great presentation amd execution of a top 5. Thanks Tobes

@@Tobins_throwbacks I tried the vanilla sandalwood recently and that one smells great man. I also like the almond creme. Really nice scent
Been liking Stirling black cherry. Heel and palm balm by them is great also. 👍great list and vid keep up the good vibes!
I haven't tried the black cherry and have been wanting to check out the palm balm. And thanks brother, have a great week!

@@Tobins_throwbacksI’m missing Ramblin’ Man
Hey Tobin great review. I've been looking at a few of those sets you definitely helped me out with that.
Take care

@@Tobins_throwbacks I like your new razor it reminds me of the Gillette super speeds with different colors on the knob and that it's a SE head razor
@j65724 absolutely, have you seen the Ascension razor from PAA?
@@Tobins_throwbacks the dual comb? If so yes but I don't have one.

Love Stirling!
Sterling just released Faskally (based on Tom Ford's Grey Vetiver). Just thought I would share in case you didn’t already know.
Thanks! I just was looking at the email this morning. I have edt, splash and soap of Faskally I need the balm. I also don't have Algheri. I'll definitely have to put in a order so I can grab some balms including a couple of Oro Valley. Thanks brother for the heads up!!
Oro Valley just got re-released including the balm by Stirling. Now you can complete your collection.
Hell yeah!! Thank you!! I'll go look now! 🙏👍👍
My favorites are a bit simple and different. 1) Christmas Eve 2) Glacial Obsidian 3) Eskimo Tuxedo 4) Glacial Lemony Orange 5) and yes, Ben Franklin
Ben Franklin? I bought a soap sample of that. It def wasn't for me. I haven't tried the others, I keep meaning to grab Christmas Eve
Awesome top 5, very hard to make a top 5 with the range Stirling has, well done buddy 👍🤠🤟
Thanks Lawrie! I agree! The variety over the years is incredible! Have a great week!

Boom, well done brother
Thanks!!
Thanks for this video. Have you tried Haverford, another Tom Ford scent? Just curious what you think.
Yeah! Love it! I wanted to put it in the list too! Have a good one!
I was going to ask if you tried sand piper
Frigging love it! How you doing brother? Maybe call ya this week if you aren't doing anything

Talking of different packaging, my Varen soap is in a clear tub.
When did you get that? Pandemic time maybe?
@@Tobins_throwbacks yes, during the pandemic.
Is there a connection between the name "Sandpiper" and the scent? Expectation based on that name was salty aquatic.
I don't believe there is any connection. The notes are Cardamom, Bergamot, Cedar, Lavender, Vetiver, and Caraway. It's sophisticated and crisp and very masculine.
