*NEW CHAR* Daggerfall Unity - Pure Mage 2.0, Magic Only! No Armor or Weapons allowed Part 1

- My first Pure Mage build "skipped" the first dungeon because of an option I checked in Unity Mod. I felt a bit guilty about it, so I decided to go a bit Old School and begin a new character proper, this time starting where all new and eager Daggerfall characters SHOULD start - Privateers Hold.
By the latter half of this video, I return to Privateers Hold with a vengeance

Keep up the content! Most in-depth character creation I've seen. I think it would be cool of you uploaded edited build guides, you sound like you know a lot about the game.

@@zimmicks3170 I just found your channel. I concur good build. My only uh suggestion is turn your volume up a tad. Kinda hard to always make out what you are saying? Otherwise nice to find another DF playthrough
Thanks for the additional 'tutorializing' regarding character build, stats and optimal skill levels. I'm not sure I ever fully grasped the 'quirks' of Daggerfall even back in the day.

Yo Zimmicks, never heard of you before but I've been trying to find Elder Scrolls challenge content especially with the older games because they are still absolutely amazing no matter how old and outdated they may seem, and you were the first that I could find so thank you.
Elder Scrolls=Best Game Series that ever had and will exist (except for Online great idea and concept but I don't think the execution was all there can get quite a bit confusing with objectives at time especially when you're early or maybe I'm just dumb)
Anyways continuing the first thing I was talking about back in that first paragraph, I started typing this like right when the video loaded and it's only like 3 minutes in (as of when I typed 'minutes') and I'm already gonna sub. I have no idea what your other content is or even if this is your only video that I'll watch because nothing else appeals to me but either way you're getting a subscriber for this video. Once again thank you for this video also it's more of 8 minutes in by now rather than the 3 it was earlier. One very last thing sorry if this seemed like jumpy from one thing to another and like a rant, I REALLY struggle with keeping the stuff I say quick and not going on rants even when I'm typing a comment, email, reply or whatever like this one..

How does spell absorbtion work with breton? For example, if a spell costs 20, does it only absorb 10 points as it negates half? Im curious because i'm wondering how the mechanics work with intentionally damaging yourself with an aoe spell like fireball to basically get unlimited mana.

Thanks, this was back when I still hadn't tweaked the audio levels properly. Later videos the sound is much clearer.

I have a question about the bank loan part if someone could please answer. So I am playing DF Unity version, I am level 2 just like James, I have copied his build exactly and followed all the steps besides doing the quests in a different region. However, when I go to take out the bank loan of 100,000gold they say the max I can take out is 20,000gold due to my standing. I have not commited any crimes besides perhaps a little vagrancy so I am a bit confused. I am the same level as James too so I am not sure if this is a difference in Unity or I made a mistake. I tried checking the wiki but I don't see what I could have done wrong. Thanks for any response.
Hello! This playthrough is from an outdated version of DF Unity. The Official Release version may be the one you have if you got it recently. Although this should not change the Classic DF rules about loans. Its 50k gold per level so at level 2 should be 100k. Not sure if vagrancy is issue, try another Region you never been to yet?
@@zimmicks3170 i'm really sorry James there was a setting an obscure mod that changes the bank loan amount per level. I have no idea how I didn't spot this, please ignore what I said above. Thanks again for your reply though! I will restart my character and change this setting! The mod was called Roleplay Realism and its in the top right corner of the mod settings, not listed on the left with the rest of the changes if anyone else wonders.
