Welcome to the Urban Survivor channel and in this video we’re going to looking at the LE rechargeable camping lantern which has received over 11 thousand ratings on amazon with an average 4.7 our of 5 stars. This micro usb rechargeable dimmable lantern can produce cool, warm and neutral light, has a max output of 1000 lumens and you can even use it as a power bank to charge your phone in case of an emergency. If you are in the market for a reasonably priced rechargeable lantern to buy on Amazon this is one you should definitely consider.
Alright so let’s dive in and take a look at this lantern. There’s a metal loop on top with a nice rubber grip which you can use to carry the lantern or hang it. It has a frosted white semi transparent diffuser and beneath that there's a charging indicator light and a power button which you can use to turn the lantern off and cycle through the different modes. On the Back of the Lantern there's a small rubber cover which houses a micro usb input for charging the lantern and a usb output for charging other devices. This lantern has a built in 4400 mAh battery which should charge a smart phone about 1 time. Finally on the base of the lantern there's a small d-ring which you can use to hang the lantern upside down.
To use the lantern as a battery bank and charge your other devices, all you need to do is remove the charging port cover on the back of the lantern and plug in the device you want to charge and it will start charging.
Here’s a shot comparing the different color temperature settings of this lantern in a small outdoor space and also inside of a room. The lantern is set to its 1000 lumen output mode. The images on the far left are of the Warm white 3000k temperature, in the middle is a combination of the 3000k and 6000k for more of a natural white light and finally on the right we have the 6000k light.
This is a quick demonstration of the LEs dimmer. To dim the light. All you have to do is hold the power button down and it will slowly decrease or increase in output. It doesn’t seem like there’s too much of a difference between the highest and lowest settings but if you are trying to conserve the battery life it would help to dim it down as low as possible.
Here’s a shot comparing the LE against 3 other popular rechargeable camping lanterns and if you want to learn more about those lanterns there’s links to my reviews in the description below.
Overall the LE rechargeable is a great lantern and it’s reasonably priced and I can see why so many people rated it so highly on Amazon. Its nice that the lantern is dimmable and also that you can select different color temperatures. It’s also great that you can charge it via micro usb so you can easily charge it from home or in the car if needed. In my opinion the only downside is the manufacturer stated max runtime is only about 12 hours which is something that should be improved upon, especially if it’s going to be used as an emergency lantern.

for its weight and size and lumens is a good win but i think the charge time and run time is why it isn't the best personally the one i like the most was the one you featured a bit back with a 2 week run time sure you lost some lumens there but it was all worth it

What we forget that Texas now knows, if there is a real and major power outage, for multiple days, then this light, and all lights with rechargeable batt. will die. So we should have a light that can also use replaceable batts. My hand heldd flashlights are rechargeable but also take 123a's. I have 75 123a's in the safe. Just me.

Yeah lights with replaceable batteries have their place thats for sure. Good to keep a few boxes of Aa and Aaa batteries around they have about a 10 year shelf life. A small solar charger is not bad to have around either.

@@songchild123 I have 2 main lights that are both rechargeable, and use cr123a batts. Wowtac A 4 V 2, has a very tight beam, with I think 1800 L. Also a wide beam is from Thrunite TC 20. I also want a fire fly mode for night use that is very low, 1/2 L or so. Conserves power but still usable. These can be carried but have 2” heads.
