I LOVE watching these programmes 🤣. But there are things that make me wonder... if someone (such as Hayley) is a complete germaphobe, how is she OK wearing her shoes indoors? And if your floor is cleaned twice a day how is the water physically quite dirty, mine is done once a week (and I have a dog) and the water is much cleaner than hers 🤔. On a side note, that 24 year old boy needs a good shake, lazy lazy lazy boy. Wouldn't even help clean his own home for an hour because he had to get up early 🤬
Exactly. Thank you! I am nowhere near being a germaphobe, but wearing shoes at home is usually a big NO. And that filthy water was quite suprising. It was either just edited this way by the filming crew or she was cleaning something outside or some surface such as bricks... or... you can really bring a lot of filth on your shoes if wearing them inside. My floor is not that dirty either, I clean it once a week as well and I have two small kids. Of course, if they make a mess, spill something etc. I wipe it right away, but I do entire floor just once a week and the water is still cleaner than that.
Yes, have never understood how or why anyone would ever wear shoes indoors - especially on carpets. Even worse when people sit on their beds with shoes on. I really can't get my head around it.
As a person with depression, I know ho overwhelming it can be to start cleaning sometimes and having a person full of energy and motivation coming round really helps. I think this is the big positive of these OCD helpers. Living with someone else can also help, because their well being matters, even when you don't have the will to do it for yourself. Even if I would let myself slip on the cleaning (once a week, like a normal non-OCD person), I can't have my partner come home after work to a disgusting house.
The thing is though, performing compulsions when you have OCD will only make the disorder much worse. And I myself have it, so performing the compulsions themselves is also incredibly stressful. They are done in hopes to reduce distress, but it's a cycle and it's damaging.
@@Chiller-pc1dv thank you, I had not considered the distress for the person suffering OCD having to answer compulsions, only the possible benefits of such a short acquaintance. At the start of the year I moved in with partner and his family that have lived in their house in for 15 years, over time the mess become so out of hand and I couldn’t handle it. My house was never bleach clean but it was never dirty so I became sick for 3 months but when I stated to get better I started doing little things here and there and they honestly didn’t even realise those places/things were dirty. My partner had changed his ways and helps out a lot but his mum had lived like this so long she just doesn’t know how to clean anymore :( . It breaks my heart when I come home from work and the place I’ve just cleaned is already dirty but to be honest i think it’s an illness and denial. Me and my partner are moving out when COVID dies down a little but I dread to see how her house will be once we leave:/
yes, people don't even notice after a while. Eg I have very clear surfaces (I don't have OCD - I just find it easier to dust if there is nothing on the surface) but some houses have things all over the place. I could not live like that. I am sorry they don't realise what you have done - mind you that is like how it is for many parents - the children never notice all you do to clean their toilets etc etc
I have to say most people when they see how the clean people live and the efforts that they make to keep the house clean they judge it and say things like why do you feel the need to be so extreme ect but the first lady who's house was in a mess when she saw Karen's house she was really positive about it and said how beautiful her house was and how it makes her feel calm and tranquil. She was lovely and you could see she really wanted to do the same with hers rather than trying to make Karen feel like she was the odd one for keeping her home in order.
It is very noticeable that people with OCD also take care of themselves and their appearance while hoarders do not. There is a psychological pattern here that says something.
Yes, although some of the people on these shows do live in poverty so cannot afford things like a new pillow the gamer boy needed due to lack of money. Mind you we are loads of jobs these days in the UK for the first in decades so they could probably get second jobs if they wanted.
I loved this show so much. Karen’s place is stunning and it fits her perfectly. And I love how the veteran was given a helping hand, and he deserves a clean bed to sleep in. And if Zorro could talk, he would have a lot of good things to say. He’s I’m sure a happy dog. They all learned something from each other. I got a lot out of it too. And it has inspired me to do better. This is so wonderful your place were just beautiful. Goes to show it doesn’t have to have a lot of expensive stuff in it. It just Hass to be clean.
Doubt it's just me, but alone else get a compulsion to clean your own house watching others dirty houses. I see like 4 dishes and think omg my kitchen looks as bad as theirs... but 10 mind later it's easily done.. just do a little every day. Not clean up 9 years worth in a few days. My mums a hoarder and I think I watch these to know what to expect/ do.
@catnipsenpai Its not a bedroom for a guy. He just has to put up with it. Looks like a bedroom for a fussy women the same age as his mother.Funny that.
I hate how messy people always say clean and minimalistic homes are unhomely, uncomfortable to live in etc. For me its definition of homely because i can rest in a beautiful orderly space and relax, not thinking about cleaning. Home is meant for people to live in, not for piles of objects.
There's a happy medium though. That guys house looks so bare! No pictures of him and his wife/kid, no little trinkets.....makes it look like an unloved house in a weird way. Almost like nobody is allowed to actually "live life" in it.
Oh bless angie she’s so sweet, it really worried me when she used bleach and zoflora together I believe that is a dangerous mixture I can’t remember what it ends up making but I no it’s dangerous to breath in when mixed together

The sons room is beyond disgusting. He has a body imprint on the wall. I have never seen such an nasty house.
It is very noticeable that people with OCD also take care of themselves and their appearance while hoarders do not. There is a psychological pattern here that says something.
+Heathcliff
Hoarding is a type of OCD as well though.
The apple doesn't fall very far from the 🌳. If you are lazy to clean, hire a damn cleaning team!!
Yes, although some of the people on these shows do live in poverty so cannot afford things like a new pillow the gamer boy needed due to lack of money. Mind you we are loads of jobs these days in the UK for the first in decades so they could probably get second jobs if they wanted.
“I would absolutely kill my son”… Love how she wanted to make SURE he understood this by saying it twice!🤣
I love all the older / elderly persons on this show...whether Hoarders or Ocd.....they are more respectful and easy going.....
Very entertaining! I know a ocd person like this. Even if someone burped or farted in her house she’d have to fumigate the place. Sheer craziness !!!
It is mental health struggles. They don´t doing for it to deliperately. Sorry, my answer was to : Jake Bennet.
Where are the bowls of fresh water for the animals ???
Doubt it's just me, but alone else get a compulsion to clean your own house watching others dirty houses. I see like 4 dishes and think omg my kitchen looks as bad as theirs... but 10 mind later it's easily done.. just do a little every day. Not clean up 9 years worth in a few days.
My mums a hoarder and I think I watch these to know what to expect/ do.
I absolutely love Karen's sons bedroom. The bed and the wallpaper, I do love Karen's bedroom
Not a bedroom for a guy tho is it ?
Same I’d move in in a sec
@catnipsenpai Its not a bedroom for a guy. He just has to put up with it. Looks like a bedroom for a fussy women the same age as his mother.Funny that.
Why would you need a bedroom in which you couldn't sleep?
Still here in 2024, rewatching this amazing show ❤
The "halo" of hair grease on the wall where he sleeps.. 🤮
The sweat stains on the walls 🤢
I want to know how did the people with OCD handle it when the corona virus hit them???
looking at matt made me think "shit i gotta get my shit together"
I just couldn’t deal with all that dirt my phobia is hairs I bet there was loads stuck to everything 🤮🤮🤮
8:31 OMG you can tell she’s not kidding 😂 the crazy eyes she pulled killed me
I can smell matt through my screen
That poor guy is only 24 with THAT much hairloss already? Omg
Ikr he looks 65😂😂😂
My poor cousin was almost bald by 18.
A man can begin losing his hair from the age of 20.
He should just cut it off. Looks so greasy and disgusting. His dad has the right idea.
Every-one-of-my-male-cousins-in-one-family-were-bald-by-the-time-they-were-each-24.---Such-hair-loss-is-passed-down-through-the-mother's-genes,-no-matter-how-much-hair-she-has.
Such a lazy people having their best life and then someone coming to clean everything up to do all over again.
Watching these people you can obviously say their big problem it is not in the house, it's in their mind.
THE BOY NEEDS A BED FRAME....HIS MATRESS ON THE FLOOR!!!
If there was a space under his bed, it would be a tip in about a week.
Idk why I think it's so funny when she asks him "are you okay?"
Like, "what's wrong with you?"
I would definitely hire Jamie to clean my house--in the buff, for an extra charge, of course!!!
He's going to be divorced soon. He might be available to earn a bit of extra cash.No wife or child wants to be controlled like that.
Look at the wall behind that ladys son dammmm why whyyyyy.
Is no one going to comment on how bad her excessive amount of bed pillows looked? 😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I love watching episodes of this show for extra motivation when I am cleaning my home. 😆
Awwww, Jamie and Mick were such a great duo. Jamie is a very sweet man, I wish him a lot of peace.
Matt is irritating. He should be helping his mum.
I honestly commend the camera crew for bearing with those disgusting houses
I'm more upset that she called Emperor Zerg DARK vader.. Couldn't even get it wrong right 🤣
She has raised a son that will never leave home, never have healthy relationship and will never have a job. She did well 😂
Not the extra large sweat stain on the wall in Matt's room 🤢🤢🤢
Oooo is that what that stain is. OH MY GOD. HIECANT BE SHOWERING MUCH!!🤮🤮🤮🤮
Poor cat
Her son is something else
I hate how messy people always say clean and minimalistic homes are unhomely, uncomfortable to live in etc. For me its definition of homely because i can rest in a beautiful orderly space and relax, not thinking about cleaning. Home is meant for people to live in, not for piles of objects.
For them it is unhomely. Rather than get upset by it, why not accept that what's true for them isn't true for you. We're all different.
There's a happy medium though. That guys house looks so bare! No pictures of him and his wife/kid, no little trinkets.....makes it look like an unloved house in a weird way. Almost like nobody is allowed to actually "live life" in it.
Flies in the bedroom, I mean how do they manage to be so dirty?
Oh bless angie she’s so sweet, it really worried me when she used bleach and zoflora together I believe that is a dangerous mixture I can’t remember what it ends up making but I no it’s dangerous to breath in when mixed together
I've watched a few of these shows, and all I can say is thank god I'm from a military family who knewhow to clean. We aren't obsessive germophophes , but we do clean and everything has a place to go. I'd never be embarrassed by someone turning up unexpectedly as I keep the house clean. I'm finished my housework by 9 in the morning.
That toilet! How could one leave the toilet to be so dirty? Yuck...
That poor sweet old man need help not criticism. Are there no services that take care of people like him. He’s served his country, now his country should help him. It’s cruel
Carens house is so classy and beautiful same with her sons room she’s such a lovely lady she goes to work and keeps her house is immaculate thanks for helping those two some people just live in absolute denial I think the the ocd people are just amazing and adorable to help these people the ones who are not clean and who are living in denial and are filthy come up with all these excuses and even complain and lazy about I ove the ocd ladies and guys they are absolutely amazing adorable and clean they take their energy and time to help these others many blessings to them they do such an amazing job 😱🤯🤢🤮🌸😘💕
Caren was vile. A case of all surface, no depth.
'They should have swabbed Angie's toilet before she demonstrated her cleaning routine? They were just swabbing the bleach and disinfectant?
It's to see how affective the cleaning routine is so they do it and if it's a low reading the cleaning is working, if it's a high reading they need to adjust it
That's literally the whole point to see if the excessive cleaning is needed x
The dog rolling on tge bed was absolutely beautiful to watch...Mick's a great bloke helping him clean
I've got OCD..... Check things repeatedly & am scared of germs.
I don't like odd numbers; If I turn the volume of the T V down it has to be turned down to say 20 not 21. You're not alone.
The stain on the wall...wtf! 43:54
