    I especially like how you can find broken down versions of the old Genetic Rim production buildings and how they're listed as obsolete. Really made those abandoned lab missions very fun. I don't like how the scaria mad hybrids and paragons in those labs literally just appear out of thin air, especially when one such hybrid just happens to be a fucking Thrumbo hybrid. I had to start equipping my guys with disposable rocket launchers for such an occasion

      Nah, just send in shotgunners and melee specialists with Run and Gun. I literally just bunch up my 9 android officers (the army isn't ready yet) while run and gunning the hybrids to death.
      And thanks to my wonderful TEK-7 dropship (SRTS Expanded), I can carry home all of the steel from the rusted lab equipment which I deconstruct. Don't bother tearing up the walls or floors, they're worth only 1 steel each, waste of time, you can leave them in good conscience.

      @@Castrean You just gotta expect them. I gunned a few of them to death since I installed this mod while barely batting an eye. The monstrosities raid never even got to my walls - they ran into a wall of lead and turned into mush.

      @@mirceazaharia2094 I've been sending in teams of four myself when it comes to abandoned labs. One is armed with a melee weapon, chainsword from the frontier uniforms mod, two are armed with advanced PDWs, and the last one is armed with an advanced shotgun which are both from Thog's weapons. The PDWs are just in case I encounter an animal with some armor.

      @@inyrmind Noice. Small unit tactical combat in this game is great, if you know how to use the mechanics adequately. And yes, rusted versions of the old Genetics Rim lab equipment was a very nice and nostalgic touch.

    Bear-cats, cat-chickens, and chicken-rabbits are the ultimate hybrids, IMO, as long as you make them breedable and high quality.

      @@mirc02345 Each is good for different things. Bear-cats are amazing combat animals who can stun, dodge, move fast, deal high damage, have high HP, and eat relatively little for their stats.
      Cat-chickens are good utility animals (give the nuzzle buff, low filth, provide food, and they're surprisingly good distractions in combat), and chicken-rabbits breed crazy fast and provide tons of food (and since they breed so fast they make a good source of corpses to create more geno-frames).
      Stuff like paragon bears or colossal hybrids will be way more individually impressive, but not necessarily more useful as a class since they tend to be very hungry, filthy, and one-dimensional.

      Just started this mod myself. My first course of action was to check my fridge. Then i decided to make a Bearfallo. (Named Gigi now)
      On to making a second and let them breed. (in hope i get different genders that is...)

    You did forget to mention there's a new event, abomination attack on your colony. Essentially a raid from a bunch of random genetic creations all with greater scaria.
    I havent made it yet, but found a legendary one thanks to the above event. The insectthrumbo, not sure of its specific name. But that things a tank!

      @@l.h.9747 Animals but they have an ability that massively boosts researchers. Couple that with the fact that they also chat giving recreation to colonists and you have an animal you should always have around your labs.
      Once it gets too old, which takes 4 years, you can put it down and cook up another from 2 human genome + an immune booster, which is cheaper than dirt in rimworld.
      The most expensive thing is the frame but a normal or good will be sufficient for this.
      Pro tip for anyone struggling to make legendary genoframes: Breed fertile chicken rabbits, they reproduce like crazy and you'll have more corpses than you know what to do with if you hatch them. 2 females and a male gave me enough corpse-babies for a legendary frame in a little over half a year, which is busted. Make sure to make your rabbit-chickens with fertility boosters enabled and you are golden. (I tried using more females and males breeding but I got framerate drops every time 40+ eggs hatched at once)

    High quality Thrum-Bears that have been further cybernetically modified with the Cyber Fauna mod (painstoppers and subdermal armor). You end up with a walking tank that slices and stuns enemies.

    Oh, I have my very own favorite abomination. During one of my abandoned lab searches, I was attacked by Thrumbo/Lizard hybrid. I was "holy shit" when I saw it. And then I was "HOLY FUCKING SHIT !" when it started to breathe green fire at my pawns like a Godzilla's little brother. I finally managed to kill it but it was a bloody chore. And after that, when I took a deep breath I said to myself "I want one !" I saw a fair share of other bizzare mutants. Like a snake that exploded toxic gas upon death and the most bizarre one, a hybrid of boomalope and cat that...exploded in a shrapnel of ...furballs.

      The Boomsnake is bloody dangerous, since it explodes in a cloud of basically mustard gas. It does the most toxic buildup damage that I have EVER seen, faster than even Necron or Radium weapons from the Mechanicus Armory mod.

    I have not yet actually had a game where I got deep enough in the genetics expanded to try out hybrids, but I wanna try making an Eldritch Wolf in my current playthrough where I have tribals who venerated wolves.

    PSA: with the mod Make Anything Craftable, you can make archotech genome extractors craftable. You can also duplicate them using the item replicator from Terraform RimWorld mod, or the RimWorld of Magic mod - the arcane forge's function of replicating recipes / items.

    This mod is okay to add mid-game

      Not sure it still matters to you or not, but here's a deeper explanation.
      You CANNOT create pawns with this mod. You can create SOME hybrids that do SOME jobs when spliced with human genomes. Like mining, harvesting, hauling, etcetera.
      HOWEVER!
      There's a structure in this mod that allows you to splice animal organs into your pawns to make them better. Like say... wolf legs to make them faster. Or... compound eyes to give them more accuracy with guns. Or... certain skins to make them tougher to kill, more resistant to heat, or more resistant to cold. It's a VERY LARGE list of things you can implant into your pawns.
      In my experience with the mod so far... this is one of the best uses of the mod. Surgeries to make your pawns exceptionally powerful and nearly broken.
      You can also splice your existing creatures with other animal parts too. You know... to make them broken without having that pesky "time limit" on their demise.
      But, breeding pairs of your genetically grown super weapons are quite nice as well.

    One thing i can’t find without testing it ingame myself: Do genoframe quality effect Implants made with them? I know the modifier name comes with them, but i don’t know what it means

      @@SargBjornson I saw a few of them. You are an unholy bastard, but I love this mod. My android commanders thank you, now our airborne strike teams and warcasket mobile infantry will have some monstrous support. Goes perfectly together with Kill For Me.

      It does. Thou since ce rebalances weapon damage and basic armor values, most of the animals that are supposed to be mega tanky arent. Melee damage is still busted and things like insectoid wolfs are absolutely busted

      Then don't pick either genetic ideoligion meme. You can build a perfectly functional, even efficient, monster factory even without them, and thus you sacrifice nothing.
      This mod DOES NOT depend on Ideology being in your mod list. I'm not playing with Ideology, yet I've been raiding abandoned laboratories and recovering materials and lab equipment just fine.
      Haven't gotten to the monster factory part yet, because I want to build myself a platoon of warcasket-equipped minigun-armed androids first. Those will be my "away team" for quests, especially since I have several mini-mods, like Warcaskets Can Work and Warcaskets Expanded.
