It's very easy for some to develop a complex when they feel the don't meet the "Standards" of the one they like, even when said "standards" don't actually exist. Shion thought he HAD to be taller to get Nene's attention, when in reality, she already liked him all along. But you can't blame him after hearing that conversation. Still, it all worked out in the end, thanks to an unexpected accident. At least when the moment came, he didn't back down, and admitted his feelings when he realized she liked him as well. Also, it's pretty clear to see who's wearing the pants in this relationship, lol.
Shout-out to my Co-star, Rebecca Danae, who performed perfectly on this one, making Nene sound cute, but assertive when needed. Great work!

@@pannkeki8940 Thanks! While I enjoy doing the more fun voices, I always look at the context of the story, and if it needs to be Serious or silly.
For a Story like this, It makes more sense to take things seriously. And since I didn't have to voice too many characters, I was easier to avoid falling back into my sillier voices as well. At most I used a slightly higher pitch since he was short. I probably didn't NEED to go deeper at the end, since it was only a year or so later, but I felt it made sense to represent his growth, both physically and mentally, to mature a little in that moment.
Great job with the difference in voice after his growth spurt. Very realistic change. Definitely helped make the story. Too bad he never got his wish of being taller than Nene.
Great job on the voice overs, hey have you ever tried asking the people who make this videos if they can do a series, like a romance story manga but with multiple episodes on the same story with obvious the same characters... no other channel is doing it 😢 I think it be a hit
@@lt_trenchsweeper3174 The Company I work with, Lab316, only Licenses and Dubs these videos for other languages. They don't make any original content.
That said, we did have one channel the originally was supposed to be an ongoing series with the same cast, Ayasaki-San. But the original channel ran into trouble with TH-cam, so Lab had to use other content to keep the EN Channel running.
That ending with him hiding his "excitement" with the backpack was funny. My wife teases me like that to but I tease her too.

As a guy about 4 inches (10 cm) shorter than my wife, I get this story, even though I'm less self-conscious about my height than Shion. Once Shion gets a bit more confident in Nene's love, they will start simply learning how to take advantage of their difference and become a strong team in facing life's adventure together! BTW - my wife and I have been married for 38 years - it is all about intentional relationship and mutual love, respect, and time spent finding and filling each other's needs and (where possible) desires - height just isn't on that list!

@@BraveFrost Nothing particularly unusual - I like romantic stories, and I like anime/manga - and have since Speed Racer, Kimba, and Voltron were first broadcast in the US. Manga came later, of course, and I still depend on dubs, as I haven't taken the time to learn Japanese in any useful sense, but that aside, I generally enjoy watching these stories, and that's enough :-)

I taught High School for 35 years. Having some young women being taller than some 9th grade boys was not uncommon

Yep. As a guy, I only stopped getting taller (and broader) at *22.* I easily grew 7-8" from where I was at in 8th to 9th grades.
I was the tallest 9th grader in my year and the tallest 9th grader ever to be in the school.
I was 6'2" in 9th grade. I am in 11th grade now and in 6'5" currently. My dad is about 7'1", and the rest of the men in my family are over 6 ft.
I was popular because of my height. Especially with the girls 😂
Girls in my generation like tall boys or maybe that's with all girls or most girls I don't know.

Even after finally having a massive growth spurt, Shion is still shorter than Nene.
