"Nice deal" seems an understatement. Small lot but nicely sheltered. I believe I could have talked my husband into this one. It'd go nicely with a 3 season cabin, don't you think. Hope it sells quickly , tempting.
Had one beautiful spring and a long, dry, warm summer. Maine temps and snow fall not what I remember as a kid. Something is messing with the weather everywhere.
@@AndrewMooersmainerealestate I hear you and I am just kind of giving you a hard time. I went back and checked Houlton's May weather...somewhat springlike...I stand corrected THIS YEAR. But also, THIS YEAR, in march and april...most people consider that spring...Houlton had zero days in March where it reached 60 degrees. With all due respect, that is what I am talking about. Much of the country considers March part of spring...in Maine it is not. Also, April in Houlton this year reached 60 degrees three times, not ever topping 63. Again, that is not spring weather. I know I don't sound like the spokesperson for the Houlton chamber of commerce, but I do really love Maine and I am currently, at age 50, looking to buy a place there. I am traveling to Bangor (grew up in Old Town) today to go look at places in Maine this week. I love your channel, too, so please don't take my clarification of seasons as anything other than good-humored jokes. I'd argue Andy is the best realtor in Maine and I know dozens.

Hi Andrew I have a question unrelated to this exact property; but with Aroostoock County. I was wondering what the deal is with land use zoning and building codes. I've heard many places in Maine have no building codes, is this generally all over the north county or is it more of a town-by-town thing? I ask this in the interest of building a home off grid without the prying eyes of code enforcement and needing building permits to improve my property. And what is up with land zoning; are these rural lots you showcase usually zoned for residential use? If a lot isn't zoned for residential, is it easy to have the local municipality rezone for you? I'm building a 5-ish year plan to likely make a move into norther maine, most likely in the area you tend to have listing in, and I'm trying to get a better idea of what buying land is like as a first timer.
