Slipped a synthetic absorbent oil diaper under the filter and no oil got on the harness. Clean operation. The vacuum trick for changing the hydraulic filter is stellar! I set the vac hose over the fill hole but sipped a large screwdriver in the opening on an angle to make a less than tight fit. Dipped maybe a ¼ cup at most. Quality instructional video so you know what you're going to see. Even experienced hands appreciated this quick look.
Just completed my first 50 hour service today, I was glad this video existing I remember watching it when it first came out and immediately came to mind to re-watch before tackling mine today, went great, I have a mid mount mower that has a linkage that blocks the suction filter (The gusher) which i removed before doing the filter, wife "Vaccume tricked" it for me, didn't loose a drop.

Thanks for a great video. I'm only at about 15 hours on my 2610. I just bought it and it had about 14 hours on it. I just took the mid mower deck off last Sunday and then played around with the loader a bit, as well as the back blade. I can't wait to start using it, but first I've got to get through deer season. I was nervous about that second hydro filter dumping all over when I did my 50 hour on my 2650. I did see a trick using a shop vac to partially cover the open fill plug at the rear of the machine. I had my wife hold the vac over the fill hole, not completely covering it, and I probably only lost 3-4 oz of hydro fluid. It is a job that requires 4 hands though, so if you were alone, it may not be an option. Look forward to your videos and enjoy them tremendously. Cheers from the South shore of Lake Erie!
Thanks for this video Gord, Great info that I used. As I mentioned I took delivery of my LX2610 in March and I just did my 50 hour yesterday. Up here in Northern Ontario we still have a fair amount of snow and the lake is still froze over. Cheers!

I forgot to mention, I saw on a you tube video that you can put a shop vac hose over the transmission fill hole (take the cap off), and turn the shop vac on. That will cause a vacuum in the transmission case and reduce the amount of oil you loose changing the HST and HYDRAULIC filters. I did that, and it worked great. Good luck.
The use of a vacuum on the Oil Inlet no doubt works well. Another thought is before removing the Oil Inlet rubber cap would be to grab the Breather tube next to it and suck a bit of vacuum on it then pinch it off with a clamp. Then go remove the Hydraulic HST filter and likely the loss of fluid would be minimal then too.
Great review and very timely. Just bought a new LX2610 yesterday. All maintenance items and check points duly noted along with precautions that I have practiced on all my "rolling stock" for decades! Thanks for the video.

On my 50 hour service I changed the hydraulic fluid for 2 reasons. First, I knew I would lose some, like you did. Second, I heard that changing the fluid helped reduce the whine from the hydraulic system. It did!!!! It is not silent, but in the cab that difference was very noticeable. To me the cost to do a complete fluid change was not that much more. now I know I have new fluid in all my needed places.

GP, just did my 50 hr service. I got a tip from a service guy on how to minimize fluid loss on hydro filter changes. if you block the hydro vent by the fill cap the loss is minimal. I only lost 1 qt of hydro fluid all together.
Thank you for the great video on the 50 hour service check. The secret to a long life on machines is regular maintenance, be it airplanes, cars, or tractors. Oil and filters are cheap compared to major engine problems. Also, keeping the machine clean helps find problems when they happen. Glad you are loving your tractor and cab. Can't wait for your first snow removal video. Thanks for sending rain to Southern Maine! We also had some snow, but it is back to 60 degrees.
GP, great video thanks. Just completed my first service and have 2 tips for others. First - drain and save your transmission fluid into a clean container. You can easily lose a gallon or two of $25/gal UDT2 fluid into your waste oil. Return the captured fluid back into the fill. 2nd - there is a stiff coolant hose above the oil filter. I used a pair of long nose vice grips to clamp it out of the way. There is a metal bracket available to clamp it to. Worked very well and avoided wrestling with the oil filter wrench. Cheers

Great vid, we just purchased a new LX2610 Deluxe kubota with land pride forks, land pride 6' scraper blade ,Q-15 land pride speed hitch . loaded R4 tires skidsteer quick tach on the loader and a bucket with a bolt on cutting edge and we have a 5' woods PRD finish mower for it.we also have a JD 4052 R cab we just bought last year
Good stuff and good luck! Cheers! When you get your parts at your dealer, you may want to ask them if they have "Super UDT2" transmission fluid. When you look in the back maintenance section of the manual you will see it recommends it. On the next page it also says that regular UDT is also safe to use. Take care!
Gord, Super important video, thank you for sharing. If I could make one suggestion- prime the engine oil filter before installing. Fill 3/4 or so full of engine oil, before you install it. It really helps to get oil flowing much quicker than empty oil filter. Foil tent over wiring harness is great to protect oil drips both for filter off and on. I enjoy your content!!!
Good maintenance you was right you do have to be fast with that bottom hydraulic filter I would probably have to add more than 3 litres if I was doing little slow but you did well there is times when the cab can make thing a little awkward but the good will out way the bad thanks for sharing have a great day
Good job GP. I done mine earlier in March of thi year. I did exactly what you done. Some folks use a filter wrench to tighten the new filter, i disagree with this method. Hand tight has always worked best for me. That cab is great. Makes me want one😊
Hey GP, just like everyone else I must say it is hard to believe it has already been 50 hours! For protecting that wiring harness I've always used a product called "form-a-funnel", it is fantastic to protect about anything anywhere from oil and readily available on amazon. As far as the coolant goes I can vouch for new cars coming in for their first oil change they were almost always just below the cold fill mark. As everything works it's way around, goes through a few heat cycles, and all the tiny little fine air bubbles work their way out the radiator sips what it needs to take up that area out of the overflow. Nothing to worry about and I doubt you'll have to top it off again anytime soon. Very happy to see you out of the elements this winter even if it is only while in the operator's station! You have certainly earned some comfort while battling old man winter. All the best, cheers!

I use a 1gal milk jug to keep oil filters from dripping all over. Cut off half of the jug , opposite of the handle, and DON'T cut off the lid. You may have to trim to the contour of the tractor, but then you can catch the oil in the jug and later drain it into your pan. I use the same jug for my Generac filter as well.
Hi Matt - that's another great idea! Thanks for sharing. I've picked up two ideas that are far better than the typical "unavoidable mess" I usually encounter. Glad there's lots of people out there thinking AND sharing their ideas!
I use aluminum foil in one of two ways. If the filter housing sticks out from the block, I make a half circle of the foil and put it under the filter and up tight to the block and make sure its tipped down a little so when the filter is loosened the oil runs down the foil and into an oil pan. If you can't do that then wrap the foil around the wiring harness. Love your channel!

I have same tractor and cab. Cab will fog up in winter. Make sure vents are pointed in correct directions and your air recirculation is not on. Keep up the great work!
@@GPOutdoors Remember the rear window has defrost heater elements as well. I was driving around with the rear window cracked open until I figured out how to turn on the defrost.
Great video, so glad I watched before I did my 50 hour. Perhaps some help, I found the wire harness under the oil filter is held by a removable zip tie. I opened that up and there is enough slack to move the wires above the oil filter. Maybe that will work for you next time. Thanks again!
Hi G.P. great job I like working on my tractor as much as working with my tractor. One thing I've noticed. It's almost the same price to use oem parts as to use aftermarket parts. To help your engine fill your oil filter with oil before you put it on and the engine will get oil quicker to its moving parts, which is less wear. Got that trick from Paul Short. Go look at his channel for maintenance and he is now building custom mods for kubota's.
I take it back. It'd be nice to have a little tractor to putter around with. Be nice to get outside and do something. I used to love mowing and snow removal. 🙃🙃🙃

Before you change oil the next time pick up what's called a Form-A-Funnel. They are inexpensive and come in different sizes. It's a thick rubber sheet with malleable material inside that allows you to bend and form it into any shape you need. I stick the edge back under the lip of the engine oil filter and then bend the other end to form a "V" so it directs all the leaking oil into the drain pan and keeps the drippings off the engine, wires and frame. When finished just wipe it clean. I've used it for draining all types of fluids when they want to run the wrong way and make a mess. I have a small and large version which fits most any job.

Great! I’m glad it’s being used. I put 80 in mine in just a few months working over our property before building our house and for firewood work. Only 3 hours in the last couple months, but pretty soon our house will be done and she’ll be back to maintaining things!
A hint when you change a filter that goes in sideways. Fill it up with oil and let it set for a few seconds to get the element soaked with oil and dump it back into container. You will be surprised how long this takes with some really good filters to soak in. This will decrease the time the filter gets activated so your engine isn't going without oil as long. Trust me this can make a huge difference for your engine. If you use a syn. oil not quite as important but I still do it.

Enjoyed as always! I did mine for the first time on the B2650 with the camera rolling. I know just how hard that hydro comes gushing out and you just have to roll with it and not panic. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought but I did chuckle hearing the tension in your voice when you were about to do it. Cheers and great job!
I also have a B2650 - next time take your cap off at the rear transmission fill hole and stick in a shop vac hose and turn it on. Won't pull up any fluids into the vac but stops your hydraulic fluid from pouring out when removing the filter like in the video. Really works!
@@BeginnerforBSeries I do the service myself also but using this technique mentioned - I do not loose any :) I just turn on the vac and swap filters - no loss of any fluid.

Gord does the Kub take a while to get an accurate reading on the hydro fluid level? All of the tractors I have owned always took a while to register the correct fluid level but I have never owned a Kub. That is nice you don't have a strainer to clean at 50 hours. I also go around the entire tractor every 50 hours and tighten all the frame and ROPs bolts. Amazing how loose they get sometimes or how loose they are from the factory. 🙂
GP, I have the same tractor, just an open station. I have seen videos of guys using shop vacuums on the top of the hydraulic fill to create a vacuum when they change the "gusher" filter. I love watching your videos, keep them coming. :)
13:45 LOL, nothing like a nice warm cab on a day like that. I gotta ask, for spending that much money on a tractor, you'd think the first 50-hour service would be complimentary. Also what I do sometimes is to take a piece of cardboard, crease it in the middle, and tape it to the general area I'm draining with gorilla tape. That way your fluids run down the crease and into your collection vessel versus just oozing down all over the place. I'm assuming the electrical cord I saw is for some sort of engine block heater? On my massey ferguson 1723e, you have to change the front differential and transmission fluid along with the filters. Wish I didn't have to change it all.

Hey congratulations! You sure are, Brad LOL! It does indeed- just leave the fresh air vent open. And use the air conditioning :)) Radio is good but static - y sometimes - I think it is because i am in or surrounded by the forest. It will bluetooth for phone calls - but it won't bluetooth music or podcasts from your phone though - just calls. Congrats again - let me know how it goes!
The 'rule of thumb' is to add one pound of torque for each inch of the extension you use. So if you use a 6" extension, add 6 pounds of torque to your wrench. That makes up for the flex in the extension.
@Fred Wills well than you’d best tell the instructors for Mr. Goodwrench certification school. That is what they said 30 years ago when I got certified.
I suppose it would depend on the rigidity of the extension. The difference between a 3/8" and a 1/2" would be significant. BTW this extension flex is the principle behind torque extensions that you can use in lieu of a torque wrench.

@Fred Wills Well I have to admit I was wrong.After your post I did more research. Most say what you do, that an extension makes no difference. Sad that I was taught wrong so many years ago...I've used wrong information building engines, setting bearing load, and much more. As far as I know, I've never had a failure adding a few pounds here or there on my torque, but I will rethink. Now that I'm retired from machanical work it probably won't help me much now....
GP when you check you hydro fluid did you have to lower your 3 point in rear and bucket to ground to get accurate reading. Just getting ready to do my 50 hr on the B2650, it is almost same as yours with cab. I love how you take your time and explain things, much appreciated. Don
Gordy- Next time you change oils filter place a ziplock plastic bag or a plastic grocery bag around the oil filter before you remove it. As you unscrew it it should just drop in bag and keep your mess to a minimum. Cheers

GP, I’ve been bedeviled by steaming up of my glass inside just like yourself in my B2650. I’ve used RainX glass treatment inside with partial success. One of our Kubota buddies has mentioned using the AC in winter to dehydrate the air circulating to the inside of the cab. I’ve tried it but that hasn’t worked to well for me either. Anyways, I would appreciate it if you could give an occasional update over the winter on your experiences, please. The only other hysterical issue I have is that I find that my AC in the summer works far, far better than the heater in the winter! I’ve had it checked out at my dealer and they cannot find any anomaly. I live in more moderate winter temperatures than you most likely. Again, I would love to hear about your experiences over the course of your first winter with your most beautiful new tractor! Take care and stay safe.

I’ve worked out a ‘summer’ configuration and a ‘winter’ configuration, the latter works much of the time. However, with the enormous amount of glass relative to the number, position, and heat transfer rate from the engine to the cab, I concur with your position that it is a little weak. What are the other 2 filters on the table, on the left hand side, near the grease gun? Are those required for the 50 hour service too? I will be doing this service on mine soon. It has about 44 hours currently.

extensions do not affect torque, an extension may twist, but its not robbing any torque. Adapters like crows feet that change the effective length of a torque wrench do change the torque.

Good day David! I run mine full out most of the time. On my old B2601 I could run it at about 2/3 full RPM but this one , I find I need to run it full or very close to full out or it feels like it is labouring sometimes ( it whines more - LOL). Cheers!

I'm not trying to be a know it all ,but. the filter was so tight and hard to get off because the factory did not lube the gasket on the oil filter. A light coat on the gasket will save you a lot of aggravation later. Thanks for the entertainment Gord
I was surprised to see that you were able to remove your hydraulic filter without a hammer and chisel. They are painted gray with the frame at the factory and the paint creates an immovable object. My Kubota dealer warned me so I expected it on my L6060 but it was a ridiculous struggle at the first service.
I too do my own service work, along with whatever else I can regarding maintenance, repairs, and modifications on my tractor. I have a B2650 Cab model tractor. I notice you do not wear hearing protection inside your cab. I find my cab too loud, not from the engine noise but from the hydrostatic whine, at least for me. I installed a headphone jack so I can plug in my 3M Work Tunes head phones. That is not a real simple endeavor, but it is doable. I am curious if you happen to have an idea if the new 2610 model tractors have improved sound proofing / design in the cab over the B2650. I do not have a decibel reading from inside my cab to compare anything to, but just am curious if KUBOTA has addressed this in the new model tractor. George, when I was asking a dealer the differences between the B2650 and the LX2610 he mentioned it was a slightly quieter cab. I haven’t seen any literature or heard it mentioned again so take it with a grain of salt!?

I noticed in gp's video that as he was heading home from doing the service work, as I think he engaged the cruise control lever, there was an increase in whine. I do road my tractor and that is what I experience too. It would be interesting to know what "difference" was made between models. Thanks again for your input.
@@georgemessner3171 I did some searching and found many people said changing the hydraulic fluid on the 50 hour service made a difference. As I posted, I did this on my 2650 cab and it was noticeable. I still wear my 3M Work Tunes headphones. I use the Bluetooth or radio functions. Using a cord, I know I will forget it and jump out of the cab and cause some damage to something.

There is a switch on the park brake lever, accessible under the dash cowling that I took power from on the outlet side. I powered two LED lights I got on AMAZON, one flashes the other is a park indicator. Works great! Just an FYI if you have trouble remembering the park brake is on like I do. @@georgemessner3171 I used the same switch for my parking brake lights. I put one on each side of the dash, by the glass. They have changeable patterns and can be sinked. Makes a difference.
@@GPOutdoors I live in dusty conditions. My cab filter (outside, in the back, up top behind the cab) was quite dusty. Easy to get to, with just some quick thumb screws. Thanks for the videos. The shop vac trick works great BTW. I did my 50hr earlier this year.

thats the same 10w 30 oil i bought for my new 14.5hp 27'' snowblower and my 22'' mower wich i enjoy using kubota oil in gas machines

Another thought is before removing the Oil Inlet rubber cap would be to grab the Breather tube next to it and suck a bit of vacuum on it then pinch it off with a clamp. Then go remove the Hydraulic HST filter and likely the loss of fluid would be minimal then too.

On my 50 hour service I changed the hydraulic fluid for 2 reasons.
First, I knew I would lose some, like you did.
Second, I heard that changing the fluid helped reduce the whine from the hydraulic system. It did!!!!
It is not silent, but in the cab that difference was very noticeable.
To me the cost to do a complete fluid change was not that much more. now I know I have new fluid in all my needed places.

GP, just did my 50 hr service. I got a tip from a service guy on how to minimize fluid loss on hydro filter changes. if you block the hydro vent by the fill cap the loss is minimal. I only lost 1 qt of hydro fluid all together.
Thank you for the great video on the 50 hour service check. The secret to a long life on machines is regular maintenance, be it airplanes, cars, or tractors. Oil and filters are cheap compared to major engine problems. Also, keeping the machine clean helps find problems when they happen. Glad you are loving your tractor and cab. GP, great video thanks. Just completed my first service and have 2 tips for others. First - drain and save your transmission fluid into a clean container. You can easily lose a gallon or two of $25/gal UDT2 fluid into your waste oil. Return the captured fluid back into the fill. 2nd - there is a stiff coolant hose above the oil filter. I used a pair of long nose vice grips to clamp it out of the way. There is a metal bracket available to clamp it to. Worked very well and avoided wrestling with the oil filter wrench. Cheers

Great vid, we just purchased a new LX2610 Deluxe kubota with land pride forks, land pride 6' scraper blade ,Q-15 land pride speed hitch . loaded R4 tires skidsteer quick tach on the loader and a bucket with a bolt on cutting edge and we have a 5' woods PRD finish mower for it.we also have a JD 4052 R cab we just bought last year

Good stuff and good luck! Cheers! When you get your parts at your dealer, you may want to ask them if they have "Super UDT2" transmission fluid. When you look in the back maintenance section of the manual you will see it recommends it. On the next page it also says that regular UDT is also safe to use. Take care!

If I could make one suggestion- prime the engine oil filter before installing. Fill 3/4 or so full of engine oil, before you install it. It really helps to get oil flowing much quicker than empty oil filter. Foil tent over wiring harness is great to protect oil drips both for filter off and on.

Good maintenance you was right you do have to be fast with that bottom hydraulic filter I would probably have to add more than 3 litres if I was doing little slow but you did well there is times when the cab can make thing a little awkward but the good will out way the bad thanks for sharing have a great day

Good job GP. I done mine earlier in March of thi year. I did exactly what you done. Some folks use a filter wrench to tighten the new filter, i disagree with this method. Hand tight has always worked best for me. That cab is great. Makes me want one😊

Hey GP, just like everyone else I must say it is hard to believe it has already been 50 hours! For protecting that wiring harness I've always used a product called "form-a-funnel", it is fantastic to protect about anything anywhere from oil and readily available on amazon. As far as the coolant goes I can vouch for new cars coming in for their first oil change they were almost always just below the cold fill mark. As everything works it's way around, goes through a few heat cycles, and all the tiny little fine air bubbles work their way out the radiator sips what it needs to take up that area out of the overflow. Nothing to worry about and I doubt you'll have to top it off again anytime soon. Very happy to see you out of the elements this winter even if it is only while in the operator's station! You have certainly earned some comfort while battling old man winter. All the best, cheers!

@@GPOutdoors Be cautious of the Form a Funnel copies out there. If you get one, the real ones cost around $40US.
I use a 1gal milk jug to keep oil filters from dripping all over. Cut off half of the jug , opposite of the handle, and DON'T cut off the lid. You may have to trim to the contour of the tractor, but then you can catch the oil in the jug and later drain it into your pan. I use the same jug for my Generac filter as well.
Hi Matt - that's another great idea! Thanks for sharing. I've picked up two ideas that are far better than the typical "unavoidable mess" I usually encounter. Glad there's lots of people out there thinking AND sharing their ideas!
I use aluminum foil in one of two ways. If the filter housing sticks out from the block, I make a half circle of the foil and put it under the filter and up tight to the block and make sure its tipped down a little so when the filter is loosened the oil runs down the foil and into an oil pan. If you can't do that then wrap the foil around the wiring harness. Love your channel!

I have same tractor and cab. Cab will fog up in winter. Make sure vents are pointed in correct directions and your air recirculation is not on. Keep up the great work!

@@GPOutdoors Remember the rear window has defrost heater elements as well. I was driving around with the rear window cracked open until I figured out how to turn on the defrost.
Great video, so glad I watched before I did my 50 hour. Perhaps some help, I found the wire harness under the oil filter is held by a removable zip tie. I opened that up and there is enough slack to move the wires above the oil filter. Maybe that will work for you next time. Thanks again!

Nice one GP, although I’m surprised Guy actually let you out of the garage.. This was his chance to commandeer that cab off yours.
To help your engine fill your oil filter with oil before you put it on and the engine will get oil quicker to its moving parts, which is less wear. Got that trick from Paul Short. Go look at his channel for maintenance and he is now building custom mods for kubota's.
Yes, that is a great idea, but when there is oil in the filter and you are trying not to spill it on the wiring harness you decide to forgo that step.
I take it back. It'd be nice to have a little tractor to putter around with. Be nice to get outside and do something. I used to love mowing and snow removal. 🙃🙃🙃

Before you change oil the next time pick up what's called a Form-A-Funnel. They are inexpensive and come in different sizes. It's a thick rubber sheet with malleable material inside that allows you to bend and form it into any shape you need. I stick the edge back under the lip of the engine oil filter and then bend the other end to form a "V" so it directs all the leaking oil into the drain pan and keeps the drippings off the engine, wires and frame. When finished just wipe it clean. I've used it for draining all types of fluids when they want to run the wrong way and make a mess. I have a small and large version which fits most any job.

Great! I’m glad it’s being used. I put 80 in mine in just a few months working over our property before building our house and for firewood work. Only 3 hours in the last couple months, but pretty soon our house will be done and she’ll be back to maintaining things!
A hint when you change a filter that goes in sideways. Fill it up with oil and let it set for a few seconds to get the element soaked with oil and dump it back into container. You will be surprised how long this takes with some really good filters to soak in. This will decrease the time the filter gets activated so your engine isn't going without oil as long. Trust me this can make a huge difference for your engine. If you use a syn. oil not quite as important but I still do it.

I also have a B2650 - next time take your cap off at the rear transmission fill hole and stick in a shop vac hose and turn it on. Won't pull up any fluids into the vac but stops your hydraulic fluid from pouring out when removing the filter like in the video. Really works!

Gord does the Kub take a while to get an accurate reading on the hydro fluid level? All of the tractors I have owned always took a while to register the correct fluid level but I have never owned a Kub.
That is nice you don't have a strainer to clean at 50 hours. I also go around the entire tractor every 50 hours and tighten all the frame and ROPs bolts. Amazing how loose they get sometimes or how loose they are from the factory. 🙂
GP, no torque recalculation is needed when your torque wrench and extension form a 90-degree angle. Great job!
I have found that it is wise to also check the torque on the loader main frame. I have found loose bolts.
GP, I have the same tractor, just an open station. I have seen videos of guys using shop vacuums on the top of the hydraulic fill to create a vacuum when they change the "gusher" filter.

Also what I do sometimes is to take a piece of cardboard, crease it in the middle, and tape it to the general area I'm draining with gorilla tape. That way your fluids run down the crease and into your collection vessel versus just oozing down all over the place. I'm assuming the electrical cord I saw is for some sort of engine block heater? On my massey ferguson 1723e, you have to change the front differential and transmission fluid along with the filters. Wish I didn't have to change it all.

Hey congratulations! You sure are, Brad LOL! It does indeed- just leave the fresh air vent open. And use the air conditioning :)) Radio is good but static - y sometimes - I think it is because i am in or surrounded by the forest. It will bluetooth for phone calls - but it won't bluetooth music or podcasts from your phone though - just calls. Congrats again - let me know how it goes!

The 'rule of thumb' is to add one pound of torque for each inch of the extension you use. So if you use a 6" extension, add 6 pounds of torque to your wrench. That makes up for the flex in the extension.
@Fred Wills well than you’d best tell the instructors for Mr. Goodwrench certification school. That is what they said 30 years ago when I got certified.
I suppose it would depend on the rigidity of the extension. The difference between a 3/8" and a 1/2" would be significant. BTW this extension flex is the principle behind torque extensions that you can use in lieu of a torque wrench.

My understanding is the material the bolt is made of can also impact torque specifications as well.
@Fred Wills Well I have to admit I was wrong.After your post I did more research. Most say what you do, that an extension makes no difference. Sad that I was taught wrong so many years ago...I've used wrong information building engines, setting bearing load, and much more. As far as I know, I've never had a failure adding a few pounds here or there on my torque, but I will rethink. Now that I'm retired from machanical work it probably won't help me much now....
Did you have any trouble with your front tire clearance? Our new 2610 won’t let you turn sharp because the tires jam up against the loader frame.
GP when you check you hydro fluid did you have to lower your 3 point in rear and bucket to ground to get accurate reading. Just getting ready to do my 50 hr on the B2650, it is almost same as yours with cab. I love how you take your time and explain things, much appreciated.

Next time you change oils filter place a ziplock plastic bag or a plastic grocery bag around the oil filter before you remove it. As you unscrew it it should just drop in bag and keep your mess to a minimum. Cheers

GP, I’ve been bedeviled by steaming up of my glass inside just like yourself in my B2650. I’ve used RainX glass treatment inside with partial success. One of our Kubota buddies has mentioned using the AC in winter to dehydrate the air circulating to the inside of the cab. I’ve tried it but that hasn’t worked to well for me either. Anyways, I would appreciate it if you could give an occasional update over the winter on your experiences, please. The only other hysterical issue I have is that I find that my AC in the summer works far, far better than the heater in the winter! I’ve had it checked out at my dealer and they cannot find any anomaly. I live in more moderate winter temperatures than you most likely. Again, I would love to hear about your experiences over the course of your first winter with your most beautiful new tractor! Take care and stay safe.
There is a defrost setting on the controls.
It is not very good at doing its job and I think that is due to the design of the airflow. It seems weak.

I’ve worked out a ‘summer’ configuration and a ‘winter’ configuration, the latter works much of the time. However, with the enormous amount of glass relative to the number, position, and heat transfer rate from the engine to the cab, I concur with your position that it is a little weak. What are the other 2 filters on the table, on the left hand side, near the grease gun? Are those required for the 50 hour service too? I will be doing this service on mine soon. It has about 44 hours currently.

extensions do not affect torque, an extension may twist, but its not robbing any torque. Adapters like crows feet that change the effective length of a torque wrench do change the torque.

Good day David! I run mine full out most of the time. On my old B2601 I could run it at about 2/3 full RPM but this one , I find I need to run it full or very close to full out or it feels like it is labouring sometimes ( it whines more - LOL). Cheers!

I'm not trying to be a know it all ,but. the filter was so tight and hard to get off because the factory did not lube the gasket on the oil filter. A light coat on the gasket will save you a lot of aggravation later. Thanks for the entertainment Gord

I was surprised to see that you were able to remove your hydraulic filter without a hammer and chisel. They are painted gray with the frame at the factory and the paint creates an immovable object. My Kubota dealer warned me so I expected it on my L6060 but it was a ridiculous struggle at the first service.

I too do my own service work, along with whatever else I can regarding maintenance, repairs, and modifications on my tractor. I have a B2650 Cab model tractor. I notice you do not wear hearing protection inside your cab. I find my cab too loud, not from the engine noise but from the hydrostatic whine, at least for me. I installed a headphone jack so I can plug in my 3M Work Tunes head phones. That is not a real simple endeavor, but it is doable. I am curious if you happen to have an idea if the new 2610 model tractors have improved sound proofing / design in the cab over the B2650. I do not have a decibel reading from inside my cab to compare anything to, but just am curious if KUBOTA has addressed this in the new model tractor. George, when I was asking a dealer the differences between the B2650 and the LX2610 he mentioned it was a slightly quieter cab. I haven’t seen any literature or heard it mentioned again so take it with a grain of salt!?

I did some searching and found many people said changing the hydraulic fluid on the 50 hour service made a difference.
As I posted, I did this on my 2650 cab and it was noticeable.
I still wear my 3M Work Tunes headphones. I use the Bluetooth or radio functions.
Using a cord, I know I will forget it and jump out of the cab and cause some damage to something.

There is a switch on the park brake lever, accessible under the dash cowling that I took power from on the outlet side. I powered two LED lights I got on AMAZON, one flashes the other is a park indicator. Works great! Just an FYI if you have trouble remembering the park brake is on like I do. I put one on each side of the dash, by the glass. They have changeable patterns and can be sinked.
