      What new King Diamond album? lol. He supposedly signed a deal with Metal Blade at least a few years back but nothing since hearing that announcement. I would have thought he would have released a new album during COVID. I mean, what else can you do as a musician when you cannot tour and you haven't had a new album in over twelve years?

    • @GilaMonster971
      @GilaMonster971 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@richbunnell7426 yep, he use to put out 2 albums with MF and KD about every 1.5 years. Now he can’t get off his decrepit ass...
      Sorry, I love the guy...but if he doesn’t put out something soon he’s going to die on the shitter like Elvis before he even completes a bowel movement.
      At this point I would consider his farts an album.🤘
      And ‘Mascarade of Madness’ is a huge disappointment, that song sucks.

    Andy and Pete's guitar work on 'Them' was probably the best guitar solo album in metal history. Mike and Andy on Abigail a close second. The Possession and Bye Bye Missy were heavy AF songs. What great albums. STAY HEAVY! Andy was one of my biggest influences. My band actually played King Diamond covers in the 80s. I saw em three times in two years on those tours.

      i prefer the denner/laroque combo....denner's old school style meshes soooo good with laroque, after abigail, it was 2 shredders, so the dynamic really changed. pete blakk was definitely a solid addition, but i missed the 70's vibe that denner brought

    If I ever had a chance to spend a day with any living guitarist to jam with and to observe/take mental notes and talk technique and comp. Andy is the first to come to my mind. I'm pretty accomplished myself but my soloing isn't up to Andy's standards. God what I could glean from a few hours with him. Plus he's just cool ASF.Id be happy helping him hang drywall in his house and eating some swedish meatballs.
    Damn it Andy, if you read this I know Gene Hoglan a little bit and I have original material that is in my own style. It would be perfect for your style to mesh with but different enough to be exciting for you. Most of my last 12 or so songs have that acdc big chord progression only I don't play the fast death metal double picking BS. What I take from D Metal is inverse chords, but above all weave into my chord changes classical theory which gives me the ability to use the root notes of the melody you Expect to hear but by using other notes I have put together great rock n roll grooves with harmony that changes the mood and anticipation subtly and of course it resolves like a Mozart piece. The songs are all totally unique to anything I'm aware of but my influence is in the DNA. It's hard to leave no trace with every chord progression and six strings, twelve notes. And Tony Iommi writing most of them heavy building blocks. I'm happy with what I've done. I was playing out in clubs and bigger venues at 16 but my writing didn't take off until many years later. I always had great riffs but I always felt like my riffs were better than writing a chorus, bridge, and verses around. Strange I guess. But it forced me to write whole songs in one piece. Not take this pasta and add this sauce. Then add this basil and then what kind of wine? I instead due to my demand on myself learned to hear the entire composition. Any part removed ruined the songs. Every note and every space is the song. The only variations that could be done are using different over laying tracks. I haven't found a band to play with that is local and can keep up for 20 years. My dream is gone.i now only wish to live to record a few dozen songs for people to listen to, or to play. I've started transcribing them for I have no recording gear.
    I live in PA. Near Lewistown. Everyone I know for decades have almost all said I'm the best they have heard even better than the bands they buy that are multi platinum. I'm bummed. humbled and I'm great in front of crowds but I suck at answering my phone. I like solitude. I need a manger to find me a band and a tour.I will work for ramen noodles until things get weird.
