I know a short asian kid in freshmen year highschool... I saw him walking around with a book in his arm labeled, "How to study for geometry." and another one, "Best note taking tips for math."
Currently a freshman at a community college, I want to become a dermatologist but I know even if it doesn't work out, embracing habits of med students is something that will make me better.
as a straight a student since seventh grade (at a decently difficult school), i do want to warn people that sometimes it isn’t worth it, as you tend to burn yourself out easily if you want to maintain your “smart reputation” please don’t push yourself too much just to attain a 4.0- your mental health and well being should always be prioritized over a good grade
As someone with a 4.0 GPA in college, I want to point out that I study VERY little. The critical thinking portion of the video, however, is very true. You must make a hard effort to do all the work for the week (don't fall behind and slack) and work hard to actually fully understand what you're taught. When you fully understand subjects, studying becomes less useful because you should already remember it quite well.
I study little for an engineering student. However I think I’m worthless cuz the university I’m studying in isn’t famous. I always feel jealous towards those who are in famous institutions hence my 4.0 is useless
@@I_am_FRANCO Who cares about famous institutions? You should be pursuing your education for yourself and your future career. Be the best version you can be 👊👏👏
@@audiomac okay but would an employer/any random person rather choose the 2.8-3.0 student from a very prestigious university or a 3.8-4.0 from an unknown institution
@@I_am_FRANCO as long as your institution is an accredited university you are fine-the most important thing, especially for engineering students, is projects, relevant experience. employers would much rather see a student from a not as well known institution be a leader and gain lots of experience than some random student from a prestigious
As a straight A student, I can affirm that I am not smart, just hard working. I personally think that many people can be top 1 only if they exerted enough effort on their exams and activities. Be warned that maintaining these grades is twice as hard than when you get it the first time. I had experienced dozens of burn-outs from the schoolworks since I'm always the leader every group projects (which i hate the most 💀 i personally prefer individual projects) and it's really frustrating and will make you lose motivation in achieving good grades if your groupmates don't share the same mindset as you. Remember, don't be afraid of opponents like gods, but be afraid of having teammates like pigs. If you want to maintain your grade, then be ready to carry a heavy baggage.
Same!! I am not smart, just hard working. But I found that despite carrying a heavy baggage I still have the desire to get a good grade, so I push my teammates when the deadline of the project is closer.
I'm a straight A student studying radiography. Currently my GPA is 3.8. My highschool GPA was 2.2 and I missed 2 and a half years of highschool, only had a GED, and missed 3 years of middle school. I have never been a 'star student.' Just because you didn't do well in the past doesn't mean you can't do well in the future. Knowing how to study something is very important. Take for example medical terminology. A person may try to memorise 3000+ illness and diseases and different terms. It's incredibly inefficient. However, if you take a different perspective you can see that about 2500 of those terms are all built using around 200 words 'parts.' If you memorise the parts, you can build the words so instead of 3000+ terms, you memorise about 700 instead. Which yes on the surface is a lot still but you don't need to know every single one of those. In terms of anatomy and physiology, you can memorise every bone and muscle or you can memorise how they're named. Take for example the "Iliotibial band" You can just memorise it as its location or you can take a moment to focus on how its named. Ilio-tibial. Tibial / tibia. It's connected to the tibia. Same goes for the sternocleidomastoid. Sternum, cleido (collarbone) tells you roughly where it connects. For me, a huge part of doing well in college is just learning how to learn the content. My first exams I take of any semester I do poorly on and I tend not to care. Then I look back and see what are the exams quizzing me on. Do I need to pay more attention to the theory? To the people who developed the theories? To the statistics shown? to hypothetical situations? Considering all of these helps me consolidate where my focus should be. Many classes also have a "competencies" list that tells you what the unit focuses on. Keep those aspects in mind while you're studying. If it says analyzing data as a competency, you'll be paying more attention to the statistics in the content. If it says critical thinking, you'll be focusing on a lot of open ended hypothetical questions. Learning how to learn is very essential. If you're struggling with learning, take a moment and figure out how your class is structured, the units you're going through, how it's put together, and how your unit you're working on is structured. Being organised in your approach is essential.
You're not a straight A student because you don't put in the work. You don't get grades by being smart or dumb, you get grades by doing the work. Grades indicate how well you perform, not how smart or dumb you are. You can still be smart and get bad grades, if you don't put in the work.
@@rose-blossoms I think how well you do on your test can tell if you're a good student or not. Personally I don't put in the work, I don't study that's why I can't achieve results like straight A students. And most straight a student always do great in exams
I disagree heavily with this. People who put in the time to do their work and study for long periods can struggle even more than someone who learned something in one lesson.
That's true! Intelligence doesn’t comes from your grades I've seen many smart people who have bad grades, sometimes its just about the effort Remember small progress is still progress, dont give up!
Sleep is so important! Just yesterday I decided to catch up and watch my lectures and write down notes, i slept for a good 9H and I remembered like 45% of my notes that I didn’t try to memorize
I watched all of these videos you've put out for studying before I went back to school. I started at 26 and now I'm a 28 year old. I study less and retain more thanks to what you're teaching. I've learned that I passively learn but I don't truly grasp the content until I Can educate someone on what I learn. I've made study groups solely for my benefit. I know that sounds selfish, but at the same time, it helps them too. I always preach on not burning out and sleeping enough otherwise we won't process the information properly.
Something else that is worth noting: lack of sleep, especially if one is in their fifties and sixties, correlates with greater risk of dementia and Alzheimers disease later in life. Medical residents don't get enough sleep. That's why I now try to get as much sleep as I can, although I do work the night shift one night per week.
@@citra3325 they say 8-10hrs for teens and 8hrs for adults but everyone is different. I know a friend who sleeps 6hrs and he wakes up refreshed and always performs well in whatever he does
This is so true. The reason why i always get perfect or 1 mistake even though i didnt study beforehand is because of this. I didnt even know before that this was so called a technique. Before test, 10 mins or 20 mins before i would read the 120 slides and go through it. On the first 3 slides, i would recall what i remember and then go on to the next slide. Im both visual and auditory learner but when im in a hurry, id prefer to picture those slides with my eyes and read them through my mind.
the 5th point of growth mindset is so true. speaking from recent experience, it does a lot of harm to identify with some type of knowledge and prejudice yourself against others. interest, talent or whatever you would like to call it counts but knowledge is knowledge and if you take the time to discern it you certainly will understand it. of course some learning will take longer but it's all about growth
I Just wanna share my experience. Since elementary to grade I always have an average of 80's and I think of myself not good and smart enough, and totally content with it but this year (22-23) I set a goal to myself to do my best to study well try to be in honor. And was totally surprise that I managed to average 95 this year a top 3 not just in our section but our in our batch. My only tips I can give based on my experience is to have a GOAL. Having a goal keeps me in the line whenever I was about to give up.
7:06 dose he know me or something? that was a real slap in the face! Im struggling in school but im willing to do better and I will let you know how this year and my GCSE's go.
Sleep deprivation makes memory retention worse yet schools, university and work seem to be set on starting classes so early lol, one simple solution would be to have a more sensible time like noon to 8pm rather than starting at like 9am
About the identity part, it's so true. To me and everyone else around me, like my classmates for example. They've given up trying to get A for Chemistry because they're not good at it. I still try, but it's so hard.
I always see my classmates working way harder, rather than smarter. If you're learning about a topic, ask questions and if you are able to answer all of them AND answer teacher's questions, you've learned it. Some questions I ask: where do I use this? How does it work/main principles, can I invert it/reverse it?, what is a base and what factors are interchangeable? What is the most simple explanation for this phenomena? and etc.
Thank you for the video! I just started med school on Monday and the studying aspect is absolutely no joke😂. I want to figure out the best possible studying method going forward, because I can't afford to repeat a year, and as you said, retaining information is mandatory😣.
Getting a straight A is nice, but in the end you will know that all the straight A’s don’t mean much after the first job. I suggest that while you still have time in college, you should try to learn other things outside of your main subjects as well, maybe another language.
I really appreciate for this video, it really realize a lot of issues I have, I'm working on it,I came back to say thank you so much. I deeply appreciate
My first semester GPA was 2.4 and my 4th semester GPA was 3.82. I hope I graduate with high honors (3.6) PS. My cumulative GPA now is 3.34 but it’s so hard to make it go up noticeably and courses are getting harder by time
Although your gpa may not look the best, you still achieved an amazing recovering. Most people who were in your shoes would’ve simply given up, but you pushed through it. Idk if you’re in high school or not but if you are this is a huge + for admissions officers because it shows that you have the dedication and mental fortitude to recover from a bad position. To be honest, this is probably much more impressive than simply maintaining a 3.9 throughout high school
@@lqtor5950 Thank you so much! You words and appreciation means a lot 🙏🏻 That’s my GPA in pharmacy school not high school 😅 I’m a third year student now.
Same. I did well at community college with 4.0 then my first semester at the university, I got a 2.8 gpa. I managed my time better and got 4.0 the last two semesters. I did my work earlier and am communicating with my instructors more if I am struggling.
There’s a reason why many exam questions look intimidating -- they are meant for improving your critical thinking by forcing you to develop your own ideas before you compare your results to the answers. They are also usually timed, which allows stress buildup. Stress is actually a key component for better performance, as they force you to become more efficient in thinking. Remember, studying is not meant to be relaxed.
It's good to know that I'm not the only one who struggled with school, however I still have a lot of problems due to not getting high grades in exams, so It would be better if I slept early then I could easily focus and concentrate on what I’m doing
Thank you for this advice. Indeed I saw my study mistakes such as learning for too much hour for a test the next day and sleep for a short time. I'm having my Igcse in february 2023 so want to study earlier effectively. Note: second!! First time I'm early to your videos
I am always procrastinating when studying.. even though I really want to study for my dream to achieve, i guess stress is gonna be my friend for awhile.
I'm an average student and i don't have a clue how i have an average of 91 🗿 I study base on my mood its more like sudden boost of energy. All i can say is have enough sleep and don't push yourself too much.I have a friend who is a high achiever and she also doesn't really know how she have honors all she did was study when you wanted, have self control, remind yourself about deadlines, track your grades and your academic performance.
After the first semester exams in University, all the students in my class were asking how did I get good grades. I told them that they should walk in a circle 3 times around the room while praying and then crush their head to the wall. They started laughing. Then I said to them it is not a magical way. Instead after coming from school eat, rest for 30 minutes. Then go into an empty room, turn off all the devices, and start to study or like we say in my country throw your brain into the books. You can't get good grades by playing video games or going out in clubs all night. I am not intelligent (unlike my sister) but I force myself to study even unwillingly. No one is stuping but only without the desire to learn.
the information in this video is a summary but it's all legit and accurate. it's everything i came to understand when i started improving my grades. well done 👍
That's great to hear you found the video helpful and accurate! 🌟 Understanding the key points can really make a difference in improving your grades. What's the next step in your study plan now that you've got a good grasp on things? 📖💡
I have always been straight A+ student in my school and college and I was topper in my college with 96% aggregate and I have got admission in my favorite medical university. I am first year medical student but I fear one thing "what if my strategy is not good and I don't get good grades like I used to" ...I have got good grades in my life by sacrificing most of my eye sight, my eyesight is -7.00 weak and I was always indulged myself in studies most of my time i never got any chance to play sports or to be good in any physical activity, I haven't explored any talent in me except studying and I don't want to be like this anymore....in few years I will be a doctor and of course my patients won't ask me my GPA, they will trust me with their lives ....I want to be good at communicating and learning ...it's getting difficult for me to maintain my schedule ...you know getting home at 4pm from university and sleeping early to wake up early for university..I hope I will be able to manage
❤that's inspiring however I think you will do great. Maybe you should try attending social engagements for things you enjoy outside of work to help enhance your social skills as it pertains to the patients
i have been a top student since the beginning until grade 11 where I started taking advanced courses, where is it hard to focus on one heavy subject and the rest of the subjects at once, mainting your time on how to distribute your study schedule is important in terms of distributing subjects may be one of the hardest challenges especially when you have high dreams and high minimum goals. at this point even you may not be able to study regularly on usually basis and you will experience some draw backs. take care from such threats, but something that you may not relise is that usually taking breaks while studying by looking for other useful yet entertaining resources may come in handy as it will give you a wide library to base answers on and maybe by chance you may even take these resources academically later on if they are related to the topic. knowledge is never a waste.
This was really helpful fr, i learnt so much in this , especially the growth mindset thing, which i was surprised to see that THATS what you're supposed to do.
The last one I swear it applies to me 😂 whenever I am about to do science test or exams I am like I know I will not pass let me just study but I will fail 😢
As a straight A student in high school, I can confirm that I am hardworking but I am also smart. I don’t have to work hard in Highschool to get A’s in my classes but I do because I want to be a doctor so I have 8 years of school after Highschool and in those courses, being smart isn’t enough. It’s so important to develop good study habits and learn to grind. For me, sports like football and wrestling teach me to work harder.
School is just not for me. It's making me feel useless. All of my "efforts" in studying nonstop does NOT help. It's making me feel stupid. I'm just not smart enough and I wish I was so that my parents could be proud of me. But unfortunately I have to be the dumbest one in every class. I always feel like I'm not cut out to be with my smart, rich, beautiful and kind friends. Hanging out with them definitely help me have at least some "decent" grades but it also hurts the way I'm just standing there while they were talking abt classes that I could never take because it's only for smart ppl. I have no choice but to just pretend to be happy and nothing's bothering me, I'll fake my smile and laugh so that they won't be worried and concerned. Also, I'm such a bad friend from blaming them for being perfect. Even tho it's all my fault.
I got a 3.95 GPA. But I highly recommend anyone to take care of themselves & be happy first before chasing after a high GPA. GPA only matters for graduate education after your bachelor's degree. Out in the real career world, no one cares about your GPA. I wish I spent my time being more happy, relaxed, & having a better balance, rather than chasing after a high GPA.
I’m taking advanced gen chem 1 and neuroscience for my stem classes at BU and they are challenging. However I am doing my best to implement these strategies into my work.
As an 8th grader, I have straight A's and finishing middle school off with a 4.5 GPA thanks to IBMYP Courses. This is great and may give me opportunities. But remember, its a lot of stress, and there have been many times when I felt overwhelmed and just wanted to take a break but couldn't. Remember to not push yourself too hard and focus on your mental well being too. Otherwise, this video is great to learn how to get your grades up and stay caught up.
8th? For top unversities/ ivy leagues you only need an 85% average out of your 8 classes in highschool (In the Us) In canada it's 11th-12th (Or sometimes one) In the uk similiar system
Congratulations on your amazing achievement in middle school! 🎉 It's fantastic that you've maintained straight A's and a high GPA with IBMYP Courses. Balancing academics with self-care is so important, and it sounds like you've learned that balance well. What's your secret to managing stress and staying on top of your studies? 🌟💪
Make sure that you are value to any company. Take care of your health and beliefs system. Survive in college and make sure you do something with education more preferably than GPA.
No matter how smart you are , no matter how talented you are , even if you are a born genius. If you don't work then you won't become successful. The key to success is managing time and working without wasting time. Genius can be born and made but the truth is each people who got top grades worked hard for it. Smartness doesn't come from genetics and its a myth. Smartness comes the way you work out . All the best
Absolutely! Success is all about dedication and effective time management. 🕒 Even the most talented individuals need to put in hard work to reach their goals. What strategies do you use to stay focused and productive?
I'm not in medical school, yet, but I am in school (again). Getting mostly A's but I've also gotten some recent B's. Part of my problem is that I also work more than full-time in healthcare. Work takes time, which is tme NOT spent studying and sleeping. Sometimes I come home so tired, that I cannot study much before falling asleep. I once bombed a final exam in a science course because I went into the exam without any sleep, staying up all night studying after having worked the previous day. That bomb also ruined my grade in the class (I got a B). I have tried using Anki's and flashcards to study, but it takes a long time to turn material from textbooks, lectures, and slides into questions. And then, how do I know if I am creating the right or proper questions, i.e. how do I know how to write the flashcards correctly with the correct wording? Another issue is sleep. I agree that sleep is needed to consolidate learning and memory, getting sleep takes time away from making learning tools.
I think the slotution for your problem is, when you come home tired it's ok to rest & maybe take a nap, you can also sleep super early like 8pm & wake up super early to study.
Ay, this is a medschool channel. I failed most of my highschool and kinda got bare minimum to be able to apply for collage afterwards. Doing pretty great, sitting my degree in networking. Going to get into cloud and ai soon enough. You'll get through even with terrible grades like mine. Like I didn't have a single A but yeee something will work out
If you’re not getting straight A’s, GOOD! Being that 100% “perfect” student is terrible because you throw away your life to get those scores, and they genuinely mean nothing. I got an A in engineering yet I don’t know a dang thing about it- I got a C in English and I love to write. Don’t focus too much on grades, your GPA is pointless and stupid, a number or letter will never determine your intelligence and how good you are at something. I am one of the best workers at my job, because I know what I’m doing? No. Because I’m fast? No. Because I show up and try my absolute best? Yes! Just try, don’t sweat the small stuff like grades or GPA. Is getting an A nice? Ye, but it’s not everything- remember to have fun and be yourself
1:23 - You're approaching studying wrong." 4:33 - "Your critical thinking is underdeveloped." 3:11 - You're not optimizing for memory consolidation." 6:10 - You're not studying at the optimical time." 7:07 - You've taken on an identity. If you have these problems still, watch 15 ways to train your brain like a genius or 5 habits that'll make you a better student, A+. Don't worry I have these problems too!! Lol!!
Rate my old study habit: this was for math and I’m trying to get this habit back. But I used to get a textbook from my school, look at a practice problem, see the answer, then they to get the answer without looking at the textbook. If o don’t get it, I look at the textbook and follow step by step. Once I get the answer, I repeat the same question at least 5 times.
I have definitely improved my scores even with a mental disorder however I have extreme gaps in my knowledge. Catching up is challenging when you work 80 hours a week.
I’m in the 7th grade and my first senses get just ended with a 2.5 GPA. I’ve never felt this level probably disappoint in my life. It’s semester 2, and I’m ready to be more disciplined and focused on what I have to do
middle school important. still pay attention in class but as long as u don't fail you'll be fine. In High School try your best if you are going to college. Because GPA will actually affect your future of Education.
Middle school doesn’t matter, hs doesn’t matter, it only matters if you want to go to a reputable college. What matters is that you grow some balls and get good grades when u get to college. Don’t stress your young. You’ll be stressing enough once you get to college
Don't feel so bad. Just get back up and try again. I remember I failed my first math class in college. And that was my strongest subject. I changed the way I studied and did great. Remember failing is part of life. Don't give up. Best luck
School as it was designed hundreds of years ago recognises that its grading system is not based on intelligence, knowledge or competence, but it is intended to grade performance level fit for companies that require jobs with people skilled enough to replicate and repeat certain tasks over and over and maintain its perfection up to its standards.
The very last reason has to be the reason why I was struggling harder with math in high school than I was in middle school. I got to high school and instantly developed this mentality that I was going to fail math anyway, so I shouldn't even feel bad whenever I saw my progress report. I'm now a college student, and I'm supposed to be taking a math course very soon. I'm hoping that I put forth the effort to passing the class as I've tried my best with previous classes I thought I was gonna bomb.
Im in 10th grade and the first marking period i did well but the previous 2 marking periods I dropped 6 points in my average so I have a B average for the semester. I usually do well but i have been so ineffiecient with my studying and the pressure and the constant tests have been strressing me out and i ended up telling myself to give up. This semester im planning to try new study habits as soon as possible because this is a crucial year and i really dont want to mess this up even more. I wanted to go to Colombia but now i dont even think thats possible; ill still try to do better even if it doesnt happen
As a person who has always had straight a's, its not worth it bro. I swear to god, like the only time it is acceptable to have a lower grade when compared to last year, is if there is a change in the environment. For example, you change schools, or you kept getting sick. Otherwise you have to be able to either get the same score as last year or higher. So like your score should never go down and when it goes up it stays that way. I'm Asian, and I do not know much of American culture but there is this thing called tutors after school. I don't know how common it is in other states, but its pretty common in my school, and I have been begging my mom for a tutor since grade 7, but she insisted I didn't need it. My average grade is 95, its an A but its not accomplishing enough.
I'm so stressed that this had me laughing like some madman. I got a good grade in highschool, I did the test pretty well, did all my homework but dam in college that doesn't matter for nothing! Homework is just problems that won't end up being on the exam. I just want to end myself. My minds lost on why I live. Why I am even in college when I don't even know what I want when I'll I've done is follow the rules of doing homework and going to school.
I feel the same. But your life is worth it to keep going. Everyone finds their path eventually and it’s cliche to say but it wouldn’t be cliche if it wasn’t true. Just keep your head high, buckle down on class work and studying, go about your day and try to make everyday seem fulfilling. Make new friends, join a club, go to a party, learn a new sport, and dominate EVERY SINGLE DAY. Be a weapon that is indestructible. Your mind likes to constantly pump negative energy into your thoughts and on top of everything else shitty that’s happening, that’s too much to bare. So be the change, be the spark, be the animal that wants to let loose and WIN every day.
I am also experiencing the same feeling: I’ve gotten so frustrated with schoolwork I want to scream like some madman which. This has been occurring in a draining cycle for the past few weeks which has even got me questioning my own purpose. And although I am aware I shouldn’t identify with my negative emotions, I can’t help but feel like something is “wrong” with me.
@@illchangethislater7936 Same here. I hate it but sadly I can't seem to do nothing about it. No matter how much I try to change it, it's sadly the same results over and over again. I hate my life. It's so annoying! As of today I worked my best on Calculs homework that I hardly get and tomorrow the darn cycle will repeat again where I'll just go to college again, take notes, do problems the teacher didn't show so I struggle to figure it out, they don't show up on the exam, and I fail. Like it keeps going this way all the time but I don't know what to do about it. I'm being forced to take in all this information and for what! I doubt I'll be using dERivAtiVes when older. Ugh anyways it's night so I'll be trying to sleep. I hope you manage to get out of those bath negative emotions unlike me who I feel I'm imprisoned in
You are only in prison when you accept to be in a prison, life is worth more then an endless disaster success comes with change so make the change before you regret it may Allah guide us all
Well, I do have straight A's... but i slowly find myself not being too disciplined and motivated to do anything. Sometimes I just ended up procrastinating the whole day.
I've been watching tons of videos in TH-cam about all of things to do to be a lot more motivated and dedicated to do ANYTHING. But it's still not working, I'm trying my best to think positive though...
School becomes so much easier if you just start a week early. Instead of going to class each week to learn the material, you use that time to clarify and enhance what you already learned on your own. Each week you learn on your own what you will be learning the next week in class.
Certainly everything he said is undoubtedly true but talent is also at play here, as a straight A student athlete who sleeps on average about 6 -7 hours of sleep in high school, I'm doing pretty good for myself. I wouldn't go as far as to say that I'm anything special as my teammates do just as well on lower hours of sleep and in Ap courses. Of course, seeing as my team and I are extremely dedicated and persistent, attributes of character are also very important. People who easily tend to give up or find hidden meanings in studying are less likely to be efficient or productive in their learning. But in my opinion, using what this video prescribed with some mental will exercise will change your approach to education. What works for me are cold showers, exercise, and miles of running. Just doing cold immersion therapy is enough to make a mentality where if you want to do something, you'll do it without any mental obstacle because what's worse than willingly hopping into cold water? This helped me in my Junior year with my SAT where I got a 1550 score through sheer, constant studying. And I'm not in any way a smart person as I need to study even the simplest of things just to be caught up with my class, so anyone can do it.
I had the best grade of my generation, graduated top of the class, but now in medical school I feel that I am not enough. It's not that I'm doing badly, but I thought I could maintain my performance the same as I did in high school. I feel like i'm doing something wrong.

If you took biology, do you have an any tips on how you studied?? And understood
This motivates me:)
What in the hell? Of course you are smart !🤓 but the thing that matters is that you are hard working. It always comes down to that.
Being organised in your approach is essential.
guys what r u doing to get these grade pls help
You're not a straight A student because you don't put in the work. You don't get grades by being smart or dumb, you get grades by doing the work. Grades indicate how well you perform, not how smart or dumb you are. You can still be smart and get bad grades, if you don't put in the work.
that's not how it always works...
Intelligence doesn’t comes from your grades
I've seen many smart people who have bad grades, sometimes its just about the effort

Sleep is so important! Just yesterday I decided to catch up and watch my lectures and write down notes, i slept for a good 9H and I remembered like 45% of my notes that I didn’t try to memorize
Agree. Most people don't prioritize sleep come from myself as sleep is for weakness mindset.
@@mechamicro Because school interrupts their internal clock.
According to my professor, teaching others makes you retain 95% of what you learned. The rest is through study guides, slides, and textbook reading.
Most top students teach others. Hence why they continue to be top students. 😂

Good Luck
Study groups or reteaching does a great job on this. We perform better when study as a group during exam weeks

Active recall, spaced repetition, Feynman technique, practice questions
Something else that is worth noting: lack of sleep, especially if one is in their fifties and sixties, correlates with greater risk of dementia and Alzheimers disease later in life. Medical residents don't get enough sleep. That's why I now try to get as much sleep as I can, although I do work the night shift one night per week.
How much is good amount of sleep vs how much is a bad amount?

This is so true. The reason why i always get perfect or 1 mistake even though i didnt study beforehand is because of this. I didnt even know before that this was so called a technique. Before test, 10 mins or 20 mins before i would read the 120 slides and go through it. On the first 3 slides, i would recall what i remember and then go on to the next slide. Im both visual and auditory learner but when im in a hurry, id prefer to picture those slides with my eyes and read them through my mind.

It’ actually pretty enjoyable when my brain hurts
I have to study so many different things about maths chemistry physics that I forget everything at the end
the 5th point of growth mindset is so true. speaking from recent experience, it does a lot of harm to identify with some type of knowledge and prejudice yourself against others. interest, talent or whatever you would like to call it counts but knowledge is knowledge and if you take the time to discern it you certainly will understand it. of course some learning will take longer but it's all about growth
You people are amazing, make very engaging animation, address the most frustrating topics, and deliver it in a concise manner.

Sleep deprivation makes memory retention worse yet schools, university and work seem to be set on starting classes so early lol, one simple solution would be to have a more sensible time like noon to 8pm rather than starting at like 9am

What is the most simple explanation for this phenomena? and etc.
As someone in cs (software engineering), I thank you for this video, I really need to prioritize my sleep and well-being all over.

Getting a straight A is nice, but in the end you will know that all the straight A’s don’t mean much after the first job. I suggest that while you still have time in college, you should try to learn other things outside of your main subjects as well, maybe another language.
It does for the quality of the program you plan to transfer. Thus, being more prepared and higher chances to obtain a job.

My Gpa was straight 3.6 last year But now it is 3.8 and 3.9 I am almost near 4. Thank you for this video
No one is stuping but only without the desire to learn.
the information in this video is a summary but it's all legit and accurate. it's everything i came to understand when i started improving my grades. well done 👍

I have always been straight A+ student in my school and college and I was topper in my college with 96% aggregate and I have got admission in my favorite medical university. I am first year medical student but I fear one thing "what if my strategy is not good and I don't get good grades like I used to" ...I have got good grades in my life by sacrificing most of my eye sight, my eyesight is -7.00 weak and I was always indulged myself in studies most of my time i never got any chance to play sports or to be good in any physical activity, I haven't explored any talent in me except studying and I don't want to be like this anymore....in few years I will be a doctor and of course my patients won't ask me my GPA, they will trust me with their lives ....I want to be good at communicating and learning ...it's getting difficult for me to maintain my schedule ...you know getting home at 4pm from university and sleeping early to wake up early for university..I hope I will be able to manage

i have been a top student since the beginning until grade 11 where I started taking advanced courses, where is it hard to focus on one heavy subject and the rest of the subjects at once, mainting your time on how to distribute your study schedule is important in terms of distributing subjects may be one of the hardest challenges especially when you have high dreams and high minimum goals. at this point even you may not be able to study regularly on usually basis and you will experience some draw backs. take care from such threats, but something that you may not relise is that usually taking breaks while studying by looking for other useful yet entertaining resources may come in handy as it will give you a wide library to base answers on and maybe by chance you may even take these resources academically later on if they are related to the topic. knowledge is never a waste.
Thanks man I’ll apply this strategy

Thanks for sharing with our community. Keep up those healthy habits and the momentum you're building.
Life is not all about school you will find something that you are good at

I got a 3.95 GPA. But I highly recommend anyone to take care of themselves & be happy first before chasing after a high GPA. GPA only matters for graduate education after your bachelor's degree. Out in the real career world, no one cares about your GPA. I wish I spent my time being more happy, relaxed, & having a better balance, rather than chasing after a high GPA.

Ye, but it’s not everything- remember to have fun and be yourself

middle school important. still pay attention in class but as long as u don't fail you'll be fine.

School as it was designed hundreds of years ago recognises that its grading system is not based on intelligence, knowledge or competence, but it is intended to grade performance level fit for companies that require jobs with people skilled enough to replicate and repeat certain tasks over and over and maintain its perfection up to its standards.
Our current education system is absolutely outdated and in need of improvement!
About to take a Exam for my Job Promotion at work later this week. Hope this video strategy works for me.

Yes be a good machine

As a student with a high GPA, it’s also about the classes that students take and how invested a student is taking a class.
I invested daily about 8-12 hours studying for my trigonometry class, yet I got a C. Tell me, where did I go wrong? Why couldn't I obtain the A?
@@oj214it’s probably the fact you don’t know what “invested” means
what you says makes sense sir thank you very much
Who is watching this one week before the exam?
The self identified weaknesses and strengths was for me lol.
I had the best grade of my generation, graduated top of the class, but now in medical school I feel that I am not enough.
It's not that I'm doing badly, but I thought I could maintain my performance the same as I did in high school.
I feel like i'm doing something wrong.
This is excellent 👌
