Just a really poorly run football club. If they aren't offering terrible contracts to players like Hill and Hanneberry, they are knocking back free offers of help from one of the greatest kicks for goal of all time.
That was the worst display of goal kicking from the simplest of positions I can remember seeing. Missing the whole lot with outright hooks and shanks was amateur hour. If the Saints think they have the expertise in house they have to sack that person, because he has failed Max and the club which has now cost the Saints possible finals football. Very generous of Lloyd to offer his services for free. Most ex-players charge considerable 'consulting' fees to provide specialist training sessions.
Jarryd Roughead used to do exactly the same thing that Max King does whenever he was having shots for goal during his playing days. He was never a reliable set shot kick for goal. You can see where Max King gets it from. Roughead is the problem, the Saints ought to sack him, but they are too arrogant and stubborn to do so.

Wait if I'm not mistaken M Lloyd worked with Levi Casbolt a little time ago when he was also struggling with set shots goal kicking at Carlton? Now Levi is an improved goal kicker

I do like how they praised King for seeing the problem and seeking help, which is exactly what anyone should do in that position. I also appreciate how they basically gave a basic lesson free on air for King to watch without anyone from the Saints club being able to say anything about it.
Max King has a very bad technique when you compare it to key forwards both in the past and present. He needs to change his technique, or else they'll go nowhere. If Roughead is in fact in charge of keeping Max King in check, then he needs to go. King has been plagued with poor kicking all season, if he kicked straight he'd win the Coleman by a mile. King clearly has talent, but his confidence is shot, and a poor technique will keep this St Kilda side from ever going anywhere, no matter what they do in the offseason. On a side note sheer arrogance again from Ratten. Has his favorites, and never challenges players besides a certain few. I honestly have no idea why they resigned him, funny how after he was resigned they've gone backward. If you can't accept criticism or feedback in the AFL as a coach or player you're not going to ever win a flag in my opinion.

Darcy Fogarty might need to give King a few lessons in goal kicking. He's at a similar point in his career and already top 5 all time for goal kicking accuracy.

I don’t understand how AFL forwards can’t kick straight in set shots. You look back over the years, some of the greats like Lockett, Dunstall, Fevola and of course Lloyd, were flawless. In one game Lockett locked 16 straight!!! As a forward it’s your job to kick goals and make that huge impact. Now days these pretenders are getting paid triple the money and feel they need to have a snap shot, from a set shot mind you, from 20 metres out. What’s happened to the game? It’s simple, players play for money not for the love of the game.

While it's stupid to not allow Lloyd to coach king, I get it wanting to keep it internal but why not go approach someone like Nick Riewoldt and get him the help he needs. I am not a saints supporter but the club is jeopardizing themselves and this kids career and it is shocking to watch.

He was helping Daniher for free too, but Daniher rocked up late to the first session then not at all to the second one so Lloyd gave up
Loyd was the coach of King’s high school footy team, so they are mates. Just a favour

Doesn't matter what team you go for or what you think of Lloyd. But for any young player. That is easy, simple advise right there to follow..

It’s easy. Players never miss passes by that much. You just have to kick it like you’re passing it to someone behind the goal.
I'm not a Saints supporter so I'm happy with his kicking style. Not being able to kick goals is great for the opposition.
