Something I've noticed that loid does, that he probably doesn't even realize he is doing, is he actually ends up telling Yor a lot of real personal information when he lets his guard down. I don't think he has ever done that on other missions. Also, when he goes into "twilight" mode with her, it never works out. She is always much more responsive to the actual loid than his work persona.

100%, and when it comes to being a Spy revealing any personal details could be very dangerous yet he has no problems telling Yor. Even if he doesn't have feelings for her yet, that breach of opsec shows that Loid thinks Yor is a totally normal (besides her strength) civilian woman. In this episode and episode 1 we see Loid sleep next to both Anya and Yor, commenting that he "can't believe he let his guard down" afterwards - this demonstrates that Loid is truly comfortable being around those two.
Loid gave us a genuine response for about 0.1 second: He correctly deduced that there was more to Yors behaviour than simply being afraid of loosing her "cover/camouflage" and that she indeed feels jealous because she has romantic feelings for him. His response to this was the "Wait...what!?" that we saw, then he panicked, went into Twilight-mode (never do that with Yor) and the whole situation blew up gloriously in his face.

To me, I think Twilight doesn’t realize he does have feelings for Yor so when he was surprised, /Shocked/, that Yor may have feelings for /him/, when he wasn’t even trying to to gain that sort of goal with her, he resorted to the only methods he knows: twilight spy mode
There’s literally /no reason/ for him to take advantage of Yor’s feelings because as far as the public is concerned: they already are a married couple.
For them to be married “for real” only benefits the two of them, no? Lol
Oh twilight, well, at least he kind of knows not to go into spy mode on Yor and being his genuine self is what brings them closer. Their budding romance is a slow but beautiful burn.
The benefit for Loid would be the fact that he would no longer have to worry about Yor accidently letting it slipped that their marriage is based on false pretenses. Which while true, its still Twilight being off his game since Yor has been keeping her slip ups to a minimum regarding that tidbit, and it would only make exiting the mission harder
@@relic5752 true but that benefits Yor moreso than Twilight, no? Yor’s insecurities stem from having to play her roles up to societal standards In public yet not fulfilling them in private because it’s all under false pretenses. She hasn’t necessarily slipped about their fake family-sure she catches her words but she’s been doing okay.
This episode was the cutest.
And dont worry about not seeing much Yor this season. Next one will be all levels of epic for her character.
I think Loid was being a lot more emotional than he would admit when he was making that honey-trap or whatever that was. He tried to rationalize his actions as "oh this is so spy of me" but Loid's move was dumb as hell for mr. super spy, he knows that Yor is inexperienced, he knows how much of a bad drunk she is, he knows she can get violent when drunk and embarrased, so if he wanted to take advantage of her feelings the rational thing to do would've been to wait until she's sober and slowly and subtly seduce her, not agressively jumping at her like that. So... it seems to me like he was the one who was a bit too eager to move the relationship forward and tried to cover it up in his head with the "Twilight mode" thing.
Personally I just think he panicked and defaulted to spy mode.
@@TheLightbane I agree he panicked, but his "spy mode" here is not rational at all. I don't think he's in love with Yor for now but it's interesting that something as simple as the thought of her having feelings for him made mr. greatest spy panick and act dumb.
He was expecting that from a long time, kinda like he wanted a little action yeah lol

In this episode Anya mentions to Becky how she's good at big sister things. We all know Anya is younger than Becky and much less mature so maybe Anya is as delusional as Loid.
Anya looks like a beautiful actress in any outfit she wears, and that actress is Zhao Lusi.
I can not wait for the Yor focused long arc coming up. Its something I thought the show was really missing.
Loid is cold because that's how he has to be. The guy would die for his mission and that's what I'm hoping they add in the next season

I don’t think Loid needs to step up his game. He’s already doing everything a loving husband does minus physical stuff since it’s a pretend marriage. He has always been there for her. The problem with Yor is that she’s always doubting herself no matter what Loid says. How many times did he tell her she’s a great wife and mother? Even in front of Fiona in their apartment he said the same thing. He always complements her and lifts her spirits. It’s not his fault she has a self-esteem problem. He’s trying his best over and over yet Yor keeps finding things to feel inferior about. He even told her he wants nothing more than for her to be herself and be happy. I feel bad for Loid the most in this situation. He’s stuck trying to please everyone while both women fail to see his own struggles.
I disagree partially, it's also that Loid is holding back on being honest and genuine in his compliments and affirmation (partially because he's a spy) that Yor is a good fit, which is why, when they had the talk in the bar, Yor was happy that Loid likes the kind of person Yor is. Before this, they didn't have many talks about why Yor is actually useful in the Forger family.

They had this talk over and over in episode 7, 9,21,24 not to mention Loid defended her every time someone tried to bad mouth her or make her feel small in the party, the interview and even when Fiona visited. Even before the match between her and Fiona started he literally told her he won thanks to her. He already validated her before her match with Fiona. He already sees her as amazing regardless of the result of this match. She got the better complement before that match which is so great of Loid. She didn’t even need to win the stupid thing with Fiona, yet she’s so caught up in her own self sabotage nothing is enough. I am talking from experience here. The way she’s feeling is all on her now. Loid did everything he could and more. It’s not fair to expect so much from him all the time. She expect that without even communicating what’s bothering her. This man is working 24/7 and she knows that. He’s there for her yet it’s still not enough. She needs to communicate. She needs to rationalize her inner feelings. Only her can do that. It bothers me that everyone is blaming Loid when he’s doing everything he can for her. He can barely stand on his feet yet everyone around him just keeps wanting more from him. He’s only human.
Even Yor is “playing a role”. She’s the one who asked for the “fake marriage” first. She keeps telling herself it’s to keep killing just like Loid tells himself it’s just for the mission. We know they both started to have feelings for each other and they both care a lot about Anya and each other. My problem is just with fans/reactors blaming Loid for Yor’s own insecurities when he has done nothing but be extremely nice, supportive and completely devoted to doing everything she can’t without pressuring her or asking her for more. Yet even when he’s bone tired and can barely stand reactors and fans blame him for something that isn’t his fault.
@@kindabatooni9314 yeah I don't understand what people expect or want from loid. He's literally doing as much as he can without physical gestures because they aren't really in a relationship. Unlike Anya he can't read her mind and he still does a great job of reading her
@@CodeeXD Fans like to pretend Yor is the victim or something here when she’s clearly not. Just because she feels sorry for herself all the time doesn’t mean it’s Anya’s or Loid’s fault. It’s her own fault for self sabotaging despite all support she gets from everyone she cares about. Yuri and Loid are both very supportive and loving towards her and never puts her down or ask her for more. It seems Yor is the one who doesn’t like herself which is why she self sabotage. She’s the one who needs to step up her game and accept herself because Loid has already accepted her good and bad.
@@kindabatooni9314 right and like they showed in this episode it actually causes problems for loid. Because she was depressed and hard on herself their neighbors assume loid is cheating when he's expressly told her their appearance as a happy family is top priority

A honey trap is a tactic to use someone's sexual or romantic desires against them to make some type of gain. Like if spy poses as an escort or something to get with a politician or CEO to learn trade secrets.
Loid has proven he is willing to step over people's feelings for his goals (Episode 1 where he publicly and loudly humiliates his fake girlfriend before leaving her since he didn't need her for the mission anymore. ) Makes me nervous for Yor and Anya tbh, especially with his train of thought when he believed Yor was in love with him.
Loid telling Yor about his past shows a difference between how he treats Yor and other women he's been with for the sake of a mission I think. While I could be wrong, I find it hard to believe that loid has ever shared any personal details with anybody. He saw how Yor was feeling and decided to encourage her by sharing something personal. I would think that goes against spy doctrine.
He could have also left Anya when she was kidnapped way back, but he didn't. The most efficient thing for him would have been to get another child and not expose himself to danger uncessarily.

The one small criticism I have of this series is the lack of Yor content and the development between her and Lois’s relationship. I love some episodes that focused more her and their relationship. Hopefully that’s rectified in the future. But besides that, this was a lovely season. This episode was definitely a favorite for me.
Don't worry, next season is Yor's season.
There is a reason why Yor is on the back burner at the moment so it’s going to need some patience but Endo hasn’t forgotten about her. Season 2 will be fun with Yor so hopefully you look forward to that!
