I am really nervous and also really excited to share this video with you all.
I know there will be backlash, but please be civil before you decide to comment and or engage with this video. No, this isn't the end of our community, unless we come together and make things right. We need to be more encouraging and remember what it was like to be a young collector again. We aren't the only ones in the community any more. Please be more self-aware and respectful when talking to other collectors, creators, fans, and peers. Any hate comments will be deleted, I do not tolerate hate on this channel. A lot of this video is more on the humorous side, but I make videos like this to educate those who aren't necessarily as aware of these things. I noticed that since I started posting more things about "don't buy this or that" some of you have stated you're already aware of this and "no one in their right mind would spend their money on that"... yes, someone would. It's great that you are aware of that but there are so many young collectors joining our community now because of G7 (which is what was supposed to happen with this new launch anyways), but some of you fail to realize that they haven't been in this community as long as we have. They haven't seen as many fakes as we have, so it's our job now to educate them in a civil manner instead of being a mean jerk to them for being "broke" or "rich" or "stupid" or "too young" to be a collector. We were all young once, so we now need to be the responsible elders that we are and just be nice.
Think before you speak, before you list an item, before you type a comment and or a message. Remember what it was like to be naive and young again & just be informative in a civil manner.

Ive noticed all the negativity lately and honestly as someone who is trying so hard to get back into lps (im almost 23 and feel like im growing out of it), the community is making me turn away from it even more :( i miss the early 2010s community when we used to build each other up insted of having all this drama happen every other week

You make a lot of good points and I appreciate this video. There are a few things I disagree with but I don't need to waste anyone's time arguing about them. The one thing I wanted to add is that Basic Fun could step in and help the community out if they wanted to. I understand not everyone is happy about them reusing designs, but I think that actually plays a crucial role in the community rn. With every LPS Basic Fun releases as a reused designed that's one less LPS ppl have to look for secondhand if they don't care for getting the original. If Basic Fun started making the LPS that are selling for over 100$ secondhand there would be a lot less drama about this whole thing because collectors would be able to get the remakes for a lot more affordable prices.
@@CircusRabbitLPS I think you make a really good point! I wrote BF a letter a few weeks ago and mailed it out, haven’t gotten a response back at all not even an email. But hopefully someone will decide to get back! If they do, I’ll make a video about it
Same! I think it’d be amazing for collectors especially new and young ones. one other issue for me is the really bright colours on the pets..

I’m a teenage collecter and I really appreciate you mentioning us! I remember when I was little with a few LPS and seeing these $50+ listings was so heartbreaking. I remember asking for lps for literally EVERY holiday for years and we could never afford to buy the super expensive listings and that was really all there was out there. I feel like this problem has gotten soo much worse and now it breaks my heart to sit in realization that other kids are dealing with the same thing. Then having people slam “Well, then get a job.” Or other rude things like that can completely ruin a kids hobby, or even their childhood. This is why I was so excited when they finally came back to stores, but with resellers taking them and making the prices go up to an insane amount makes me so sad for all the young kids who dream to get their hands on these. I wish resellers would think about how they are affecting others and not just them. Let’s make this a better community for all, old collectors and new too!

This video was very informative and you made some really good points, especially with the ‘classist’ issue. I’ve been guilty of using ‘privileged’ in my rants about this situation but not because someone has more money than me but more as a response to people being classist towards smaller collectors saying we’re “complaining” and it’s “impossible” to lower 909 from $500 to $300 (it’s really not guys please).
While I totally 100% agree that we need to be kind to each other, there are some points where I think we really do need to call people out for how they treat others.
I love how you offered points from both sides of the argument, like talking about how just because the pet is labeled “rare” doesn’t mean that it should be that price. Or how bashing people for being able to afford expensive lps doesn’t help.
Overall I loved this video and even learned a thing or two about how I can approach these discussions in the future!

@@musicgirlpro omg. I’ve been off TikTok for a few months now, I was debating going back but it’s just so exhausting. Everyone is always arguing on there😭
The focus of the community in general has completely changed, the majority of the community focused on creativity and everyone’s love for LPS
Now the community is mostly collection accounts which isn’t a bad thing (I love looking at people’s collections) but it’s just constantly full of hate and bashing each other and I have only really noticed this from certain collection accounts (don’t bash me 😭) and the creativity and fun is being drained from the community and it isn’t fun. Especially when people are starting literal hate trains to harass people because of certain pets 🫠
The hate and absurd behaviour within the community needs to stop, they’re plastic toys that we all love 🥲
