I don't think it was a good idea to film that interview in an open air space. Some crazy geolocation experts can pinpoint the location of that picture using even the angle of the sunlight. I'm just worried. Sorry.
I was always curious as a private citizen if you hacked a foreign adversary of the United States how our government would react. I suppose it would depend upon the circumstances. Props to this man for accomplishing that hack by himself.
DDoS attacks are a federal crime. This guy had MAJOR connections. I promise you any average citizen pulls this off, they have 2 options, work for the government or become a felon and have your electronics all seized.
This was a great insight and the cyber security theatre is not really talked too much about. I would be happy to hear more hacker stories and the impacts of people and business. Great video, Kaya!
@alejandrocaceres8366 thanks for the answer;) it's not just hardworking (and I know it's a lot of it!), people like you have a very particular kind of intelligence and clarity of thinking when it comes to certain subjects (science, advanced technologies and programming, networks, maths...). Not anyone can do it and many of us try to be smarter by reading about those subjects and hit a plateau very fast. That's why high profiles are rare.

02:59 that's so freaking true!! I've heard so many hackers from young to old when they do the bug bounty they usually don't get paid because even companies like Apple, Microsoft, Google etc. love to weasel out from paying with various excuses after the hacker shows how the bug is done. And then they wonder why some hackers rather sell their bug/exploit in black market.

I submitted a bug to a game developer, with screenshots of how I had broken the game. He replied "Thanks". I sent a follow up email asking for a bounty for discovering the bug, and the developer replied, "I'll just add it to the next round of bug fixes and upgrades." He absolutely did not care if the game was easily/repeatably broken. All he cared about was people paying for the subscription.

it does not give you acess to a server, it gives you a copy of data. thats why you changing your website copy does nothing to the backend.

Wait… n Korea has internet? Serious question I just watch a documentary that said they just have newspapers and broadcasts
they have thier own internet. Only a select few can get on the real internet.
Estonia was attacked by another country at 2007, for 22 days
