Fascinating! And extremly beautiful Calligraphy. I had no idea of certains special gestures in that process; for example, the subtle, opposition motions of the brush, occuring on the beginning of a straight vertical stroke, or, most surprisingly to me, at the end of a horizontal stroke. The way these gestures tint the paper through a contradictory motion, but not compromising the end result, is incredible. It would not have been so clear in this video, if you didn't have that nearly slow-motion, absolute control of the strokes.🙀I've seen many videos on these kind of Calligraphy, but this is the first time I've spotted this particular quality. Thanks for sharing such treasure, Master!

Iam an artist. A typographer. (Western) I love the form of words and charracters. I spend hours with favourite and challenging pens writing alphabets and creating type faces. Watching this and not understanding what I am reading doesn't seem to matter, what matters seems to be your connection with brush, paper, ink culture and something personal deep inside you. It is powerful. Watching this speaks to something inside of me. I want to do it. I can obtain everthig I need easily, but If I do, and not speaking or reading the language, is it pointless, even though I feel I would enjoy it immensity? With love
Words, including all those created with various Asian characters (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc), are energy. You are likely picking up on this energy even though the logical part of your brain has not yet been wired/trained to understand these languages. I, personally, connect with the ancient Celtic and Norse alphabets -- Ogham and the Elder Futhark runes, respectively. Do I know the associated languages fluently? Not by a long shot. But I still consider practicing writing with such alphabets beneficial, just because my soul connects with them. Meanings may get shown to me in a dream (for example), so I don't worry so much. 😊😁

Nice ink slab (砚台), great video!
never apologize for my time
im enjoying it here
This was beautiful like the tree outside.
Me: "Oh I like calligraphy, haven't written anything since I studied Japanese, let's ..."
Also me: "OH MY GOD THAT'S PERFECT WTH."
Seriously, I'm mesmerized.
I took a Chinese calligraphy class in college, and I still have all the materials from that class, but I haven't written anything since I left college. I really need to pick it up again, if only to connect with my roots (my late grandfather was a talented amateur calligrapher).
你的视频很放松。保持良好的工作!
You are so patient while explaining and show the full process for me to learn! I love it!!! Where can I get the book to use as a reference when I’m practicing? I recently got into Chinese calligraphy! Can’t wait to start practicing!
I sell them on my Etsy shop.

How come it took me so long to find this channel? What an amazing video, I loved it so much
I've always loved Chinese calligraphy. I learnt the language from 7th-10th grade, but sadly I can only count to 5😭
Iam an artist.
@@a.katherinesuetterlin3028 @A. Katherine Suetterlin Thankyou. I appreciate your reply so much and you've hit the nail on the head I believe... energy and a connection deeply felt and not understood. And, thankyou for giving my rambling question such thought. Since watching your clip I became fascinated by brush making...amaizing!... bevouring youtube movies. Then, ink...oh my goodness....ink!! I had no idea! What a beautiful thing ink is.., and created with such love and passion. I was enthralled. I want so badly to be a Japanese ink artisan.
Thanks again, and take care. With love.

真的很喜欢您:)不管讲英文还是中文都好温柔
I am Chinese so I love when you speak!
beautiful and serene
Thank you for sharing your video. I used to practice chinese calligraphy writing when I was young at elementary school in Asia. After moved to US, I haven't done any since. After watching your video, I would like to start again. May I ask you to recommend a set of brush that I can start out with? Your etsy link no longer point the brush set anymore. Amazon would do as well if you have any recommendation. Thank you in advance. Take care! Just subscribed to your channel. :)
I have always wanted to learn chinese calligraphy. Arabic calligraphy is very beautiful as well. I used to teach chinese kids and have picked up on some chinese and writing while at the school. I need a brush now.
Very beautiful!
