This song isn't just about rodeo. Instantly brought me to tears after thinking about my time in the military. After 8 years in the Army, this hit me like a ton of bricks. It was a love/hate relationship. Made me a better man but I left to focus on my family. I still miss it....at times. It's funny how we only look back on the good times and don't remember all of the hard times. This song has helped put me at peace with my decision to leave.

It reminds me of that girl I met while in the navy that I fell in love with harder than anyone I'd ever loved before just to have it all turn to shit when I got transfered to my next duty station. I haven't dated anyone since it's been 3 years now.

Yes you are correct. Maybe a Rodeo we don't want anyone else to know about or one we wanna share with everyone. The first time I heard this song I thought about my Opioid addiction 12 years ago. I tried to blame it on the Opioids, I tried to assure everyone I was in control, I knew I had to let them go if I wanted to live a longer life, I still think about the feeling I got from them and I am still in love with them. But I did let them go 12 years ago but I'm still in love with them.
I’m here to tell you. This song changed everything for me. It changed my life, saved me from depression and suicide. Gave me a whole different outlook on everything. Brought me to my knees when I first heard it. And that’s something I’ll never forget. The gratitude I have for this is incredible. The documentary is a whole different ballgame. By far the best thing I’ve ever put on my tv. Thank you so much.

I was watching Yellowstone when this song started playing. I loved the song so much that I hit pause and came over here to youtube to hear the full song. I am not much of a country fan, but Cody could be changing that for me.

Every time I listen to this version I pick up on another layer of something someone in the band is doing. For a "simple" sounding song, there is so much going on here, and these guys freaking nail it. Such a talented band and amazing voice.
This song never really resonated with me, then I got hurt in Iraq a couple years ago and after 4 surgeries found they won't be able to fix me. Not only will I never fly again, but I'm getting medically retired. Now this song speaks to me.

Cody Johnson and Drew Parker in my opinion are the best "modern" country and western singers in the male category. These guys are singing real country music. Yes it might be a little updated compared to old music but it's still real country music we've got the acoustic guitar which he plays very well and we've got the steel guitar going on and a very good song and he also has a very good country voice! When it’s just the music playing from the band, Cody will look at the crowd and if possible shake some hands.
