I think a benefit of lions bend don't break defense is the opposite team gets big chunk plays or are behind the sticks. Both of which cut down on their time of possession and then the lions with a dominant run game end up controlling the tempo of the game. That's why I think their time of possession has been so dominant in a lot of their wins this year and why I think it'll be really hard for the commanders to have success in this game the same way they did against the bucks. Ultimately in a game with two impressive offenses the team who gets more takeaways and timely stops will likely win.
The same could be said for Washington. Their time of possession has been just as good if not better! Washington is better on 4th down conversions. And that D is very suspect in Detroit. Bake Mayfield had his way with their 2ndry. Can't see why JD5 won't do the same. See ya on Saturday 🫡💯
Washington won't be able to stop the run game. That will open the run play action. Washington hasnt been good covering TE's all year. Detroit has a top 4 TE in LaPorta. The offensive line for Detroit is top 2 in the league. Detroit is an automatic 30 piece at home. Rhe defense typically gives up a lot of passing yards but not a lot of points. Theres still 13 guys on IR on rhe defense but they're still holding teams to 20 pts/game. Detroit has played with a lead in most games so teams will pass the ball to catch up but the defense is 2ns in the league on 3rd down conversion. And they are 4th in the league in redzone defense. The defense is injured not sorry lol. Detroit has too many weapons on offense. 4 players w/1000 scrimmage yards. Washington is nice. JD5 is a beast. As a Washington fan since 1962, I realize this is probably our final game and for the long suffering Detroit fans I will root for the Lions if they make the Super Bowl. That being said, I hope Detroit has 3 turnovers and Washington has the ball last. GO REDSKINS (the true name!!).
Go ahead and keep bagging on Goff cause you have no real take. Goff's worst game was against Houston and still won, while his rating was still higher than Daniels worst game. Weeks one and two were his other two 'bad games' splitting win and loss, while weeks 3-9 he averaged a 133.7 passer rating. Week 11 he was a perfect 158.3. Weeks 11-18 he was 116.3 average rating. In 17 games he has had only five games with a less than 100 rating. Daniels on the other hand only has six games over a 100 passer rating.
Washington's D and Detroits are not the same. Lions run D has been good all year, Washingtons is awful (30th). Lions pass D gives up yds but also creates TOs and causes QBs to be inefficient. Commanders aren't going to be able to stop the Lions. The Lions only need a couple of stops to break this game open. This is a 34-24 or 31-17 type game. Lions win.
We don’t have to stop the Lions, just slow them down. We didn’t stop TB, we limited their offensive chances and it gave us a chance. That’s been the commaders key to victory all season. Control TOP to keep our D off the field, because the team is aware of their limitations. Then all you gotta do is give JD5 a shot in the final minutes to win. Lions are the better team, but any given Sunday anyone can be beat. Commaders marginof error is just insanely small if they hope to pull an upset.
@chasehaugh6761 Lions and AG won't let you do that. Lions are going to blitz and force the issue. Either you'll hit big or they'll hit big. Its one INT or one sack fumble and you're done. Btw the Lions are 2nd in the league in ToP. Washington is 9th.
@chasehaugh6761 well next year when Mclaurin tears his ACL and Daniel's is out half the season in concussion protocol youll get zero sympathy from us. You guys played really well and certainly deserved the W. Congrats on beating up our B team.
I hope Ben Johnson calls the Penei Sewell TD pass trickplay if the Lions get a chance to run it. Imagine if Sewell gets the same number of TD's as JD5 in this game??😂😂
I think there is a good chance you will see an early onside kick by the Commanders. As a Washington fan I don’t see a lot of hope this game other than trying to be competitive and learning from it. The Lions are such a good team. I’ll pull for the Lions to win it all. The team and fan base deserve it.
Pressure Goff and pick him off. That’s pretty much all you can do, and good luck with that, because Penei Sewell is a beast and he’s not just going to neutralize your best guy, he’s going to pulverize him.
#PayingTheBills Tim Patrick is a great WR3 in this offense, but he's even more valuable in the run game. Watch just about any Jahmyr Gibbs explosive play and you'll see TP digging out a defensive back 15, 20, 30 yards down the field.
NFCCG average ticket price is gonna be at least $1200 i’m sure of it. it’s awesome having a successful team but these prices are killing me. i’ll settle for watching playoff wins on tv but it would be cool to be there after waiting 31 years for this team
The lions are also a ball control team. They like to score quickly and then chew up the clock. These teams are very similar. So, whatever strategy Washington has could also be turned against them.
Commanders are no slouches, but a lot of their victories have come with very narrow margins. On the flip side, Lions don’t do well against no huddle offenses.
Lions don’t play many starters in the preseason. The Bucs game was kinda like a preseason game for them. Maybe that’s their fault, but they’ve always done this.
Hard to score that much when WAS will have the ball for like 38 minutes. That will be the strategy anyways. Lions offense is elite for sure, just don’t sleep on the commanders ability to score.
@ayewhaddupdoe they're weren't ready for almost 3 quarters against a shaket viking team. They looked bad for 2 whole quarters, I don't put alot of weight in stopping darnold, I've watched Jayden throw dimes with defenders on his face
Alex Anzalone is an absolute beast. They'll use him to contain JD. The Lions will also play a lot of cover 1 and cover 0, allowing extra pressure on JD. This will force Washington to try to counter with slant passes, which could be a big deal for Bryan Branch and Kerby Joseph. Look for Detroit Safeties to have a big game.
Picked apart Tampa more impressive defense all game especially on game winning drive. Pick your poison you can’t stop the QB run and pass simultaneously.
IF, Washington is down 4 with 1:40 left in the 4th quarter and Jayden Daniels has the ball, Detroit is cooked. Jayden is a stone cold killer innthat situation. However, as a diehard Commanders fan I am not sure we can keep it that close for 58 minutes. Detroit really does have the perfect roster and coaching staff. We are on our way to that but need to keep our coordinators in place and put together another good offseason.
Washington had the second weakest schedule in football, and has the second weakest Strength of Victory in the playoffs. 1-4 with a -30 point diff against playoff teams in the regular season. Barely beat the Bucs, to the point I'd say the Bucs beat themselves. Still took a doink-in FG. Lets not pretend the Washington offense is some kind of high powered machine. They have a consistent and solid offense and a relatively bad defense.
Yet they’re here in divisional round. Bucs beat lions and eagles and blew out wsh in week 1. None of that matters now. Yes lions will most likely win but it’s not cuz strength of schedule and point differential lol
@@sy12 That's not what I'm saying at all. I'm saying the media continues to gas Washington up like they've been some kind of world beater. Unfortunate dopes bet their money based on commentary from some of these guys and they should educate themselves. Anything can happen, that doesn't mean it's realistic.
Lions need to run the ball and control the clock. They get into trouble when they ask Goff to pass 40 times in a game. they also get cooked by mobile QBs. Spread seems too high to me.
Payin the bills. The commanders are an awesome team, theyre just a year or 2 behind in their rebuild. The Lions and Commanders might be the next 2 big teams out of the NFC for the next few years. Similar to the Eagles/49ers.
They failed on 4th down twice in the red zone... do you think they were going to punt from the 5 yard line??? That 0 punt stat would have happened even if they didnt go for it on 4th down.
It's not possible to stop that offense, no. The best thing the Skins can do to slow them down is control the TOP on offense and keep grinding 16 play drives that take 10 min. Washing defense is not stopping this team whatsoever.
@@jamestreasure5403Detroit will just make sure you still do. Daniels is a great qb but he doesn't have enough supporting cast right now. Washington at least 1 year away from really competing great qb but needs.more help
There's a reason you're almost a double digit underdog, you commanders fans been chirping all week saying we're the ones not ready for y'all and giving us no chance because you think we're disrespecting you, when y'all are coming up to the best team in the NFC and barking at us, thinking you're on the same plane as the Lions right now, had nothing but respect for Daniels doing what he did this year, and loved seeing y'all beat the Bears on that hail mary, but y'all are where the Texans were at last year, Stroud had an outstanding rookie year, got his first playoff win, then when he went up against a real team, the rookie showed, and Aaron Glen will have a gameplan to fluster Daniels, possibly into turnovers. Also Aaron Glenn has been able to outscheme Kingsbury when he was coaching Arizona the last few years. top to bottom the Lions are just in another dimension right now, hope we'll see y'all in another couple years, maybe in an NFC championship, but the Lions are laser focused on a mission for a superbowl, this is our story and not yours, and you won't be the ones to stop us.
Redskins are a good young team. Lions are a great team with more experience and more PLAYOFF experience and it's in Detroit. The Lions are favorites for a good reason. I don't expect an ass beating or anything like that, but I expect Detroit to win in a game that's never really in doubt after halftime. Redskins will be better next year and have a very bright future.
Commanders fan here. I think you’re really off base with The going forward on fourth down exaggerated predictions. If Jaden Daniels doesn’t convert on third and 6 on that last drive against the Bucs, they would’ve had to punt. That was just clutch. And just like the Buccaneers kicked the field goal to tie the game with under five minutes left, game situations will dictate that sometimes you have to kick. Having said all that, like probably most commanders fans, I did not agree with all of the fourth down Attempts. I still don’t. And if they don’t get that last one after Mayfield’s fumble, we may be telling a different story. I predict it will be at least four field goal attempts on Saturday night. I would bet on it.
I think Lions win, but the Commanders cover, too. Whether that be in a back and forth kinda game or one where Detroit rolls out to a big lead early, but Commanders get a "too little too late" come back in the 4th quarter to make it closer.
Lions injuries are similar to SF. But Goff is better than Purdy and we have 2 great rbs instead of 1 awesome one. Big difference is our togetherness and Will to win.
I have a feeling JD is gonna show he's a Rook! JMO but as a lifelong Lions fan this stadium is second to None. Its Loud and Crazy. Ive seen it bother Vet's! Wash and JD have a bright future but this is Detroits Year!!
I’m confident we’ll win this game, but any Lions fan expecting a blowout is only setting themselves up for a massive letdown and disappointment if it happens to go the other way.
Totally agree. Arrogance doesn't look good on us. Washington is a 12 win team coming off of a playoff win. They are NOT pushovers and capable of putting up a good fight.
You're the kind of fan that thought the Vikings would put up a good fight too. We don't need weak ass fans like you over here. We're winning the super bowl period
Really? Vikings high powered offense was also supposed to put " tons of points against Lions' banged up defense"! What happened!? Be real guys! Thor is back! No chance for Commanders for more than 17 points!

you bums must have forgot this is the same detroit that deafened the jets offence at the silverdome in 1997. one of the loudest recorded games in history. so loud they threatened the lions with a penalty if the crowd didn't shut up. dont get shit twisted, its still that loud.
Goff, IIRC, played zero snaps in the preseason. His early struggles were anything but unpredictable, Sam.
Would love to see Detroit put up 40 points and get a lineman in the end zone again

So I tole my wife that Tim Patrick is my spirit animal. She asked me what that means. Watch every play. He has an impact everywhere. So I said. He's my spirit animal because he gets shit done. I love that guy. He's my detroit lions Tomas holmstrom. Without him, it doesn't work the way it does.

As a Washington fan since 1962, I realize this is probably our final game and for the long suffering Detroit fans I will root for the Lions if they make the Super Bowl. That being said, I hope Detroit has 3 turnovers and Washington has the ball last. GO REDSKINS (the true name!!).
Agreed. Also, they'll always be the 'skins to me.
As a Lions fan, I respect this. I hope we drop 40 on ya and go on to win our first superbowl, but if you get us, I hope y’all win it all.
Your hopes and dreams were granted.
GO LIONS!! Subscribed. It really is insane how stacked they are.
I super enjoy your work men. ✊🏽
You fellas are bringing up great points... New perspective i haven't thought of as a lions fan
Good game Goff!!!! LOL🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

This is the SB team of destiny. The Detroit Lions will beat the Commandos 36-13 and move onto the NFC championship. Let's Go Lions! #OnePride
@@jamesreed2475 good game, we tried to tell you though! Y'all wanted to dismiss us and call it a blowout, but you got embarrassed on your home turf.
@chasehaugh6761 well next year when Mclaurin tears his ACL and Daniel's is out half the season in concussion protocol youll get zero sympathy from us. You guys played really well and certainly deserved the W. Congrats on beating up our B team.

Sho did.
Washington gonna sack Guffey 7 times. Wins the game 33-23
I hope Ben Johnson calls the Penei Sewell TD pass trickplay if the Lions get a chance to run it. Imagine if Sewell gets the same number of TD's as JD5 in this game??😂😂

Lions taking Washington to the middle of the Abyss
I think there is a good chance you will see an early onside kick by the Commanders. As a Washington fan I don’t see a lot of hope this game other than trying to be competitive and learning from it. The Lions are such a good team. I’ll pull for the Lions to win it all. The team and fan base deserve it.
Changed rules you can only onside kick it in the 4th now and if you are down. Must not watch much.
@@knightmareGS you don’t think the commanders will be behind in the fourth?
@@artsolano6762 you said an early onsides kick as implied before the fourth. That's three quarters through the game last time I checked.

@artsolano6762 you're so lost it's cute....

Pressure Goff and pick him off. That’s pretty much all you can do, and good luck with that, because Penei Sewell is a beast and he’s not just going to neutralize your best guy, he’s going to pulverize him.
You called it.

Tim Patrick is a great WR3 in this offense, but he's even more valuable in the run game. Watch just about any Jahmyr Gibbs explosive play and you'll see TP digging out a defensive back 15, 20, 30 yards down the field.
Free Chris Rodreguez!!!!
Love the Grand Rapids Rampage Helmet on the desk! Who has the connection?
NFCCG average ticket price is gonna be at least $1200 i’m sure of it. it’s awesome having a successful team but these prices are killing me. i’ll settle for watching playoff wins on tv but it would be cool to be there after waiting 31 years for this team
Im just here after the Washington commanders beat the lions 45 to 31
Sam you are always begrudgingly complimentary toward the Lions.
The lions are also a ball control team. They like to score quickly and then chew up the clock. These teams are very similar. So, whatever strategy Washington has could also be turned against them.
Lions to much for Washington see this game lions37 Washington in 17
Commanders are no slouches, but a lot of their victories have come with very narrow margins. On the flip side, Lions don’t do well against no huddle offenses.
Lions don’t play many starters in the preseason. The Bucs game was kinda like a preseason game for them. Maybe that’s their fault, but they’ve always done this.
Blowout! 42-17 Detroit! Mark it
I agree
Yeah they might put up 1 more TD but probably not lol
I got 35-21 but either way, I don’t think it’ll be close!
Commanders put up no less than 20 on the best defenses in the league but hey, dream on dreamer
Hard to score that much when WAS will have the ball for like 38 minutes. That will be the strategy anyways. Lions offense is elite for sure, just don’t sleep on the commanders ability to score.
Is that a Grand Rapids Rampage helmet!?
My lions are gunna choke, the whole fanbasecare underestimating this team. Im very worried
...so cause the fans are talking shit Dan ain't gonna have the guys ready?
Lol okay
@ayewhaddupdoe they're weren't ready for almost 3 quarters against a shaket viking team. They looked bad for 2 whole quarters, I don't put alot of weight in stopping darnold, I've watched Jayden throw dimes with defenders on his face
Dang, you called it.
Be loud ……LFG
A lot of ifs detriot by 50
@nicholasabraham7332 you still sure about that
@nicholasabraham7332 cheer up. There's always next year. Detroit is a good team. Just not Commanders good
@@nicholasabraham7332
Yikes 😬
If some how washington brings back the run game like they did earlier in the season Detroit have no chance
Your analysis proved to be true.🫡
Fanduel/DraftKings tell these people to argue against the obvious because the Lions have been killing Vegas the last 2 years. Unfortunate dopes bet their money based on commentary from some of these guys and they should educate themselves. Anything can happen, that doesn't mean it's realistic.

I’m commenting at halftime of the game. The turnovers are killing us you said it @10:20. I hope we can turn it around.
He's definitely right about Chris Rodriguez. Chris runs hard. He needs more touches
Don’t play Detroit’s game against Detroit learn from the Vikings 2 dans but only 1 Campbell

They failed on 4th down twice in the red zone... do you think they were going to punt from the 5 yard line??? That 0 punt stat would have happened even if they didnt go for it on 4th down.
Boy, this didn’t age well for Detroit…..
It's not possible to stop that offense, no. The best thing the Skins can do to slow them down is control the TOP on offense and keep grinding 16 play drives that take 10 min. Washing defense is not stopping this team whatsoever.
KEEP THAT SAME ENERGY
@@jamestreasure5403Detroit will just make sure you still do. Daniels is a great qb but he doesn't have enough supporting cast right now. Washington at least 1 year away from really competing great qb but needs.more help

A minute ago, Goff had an INT… and I was hearing at 12:10 at the exact moment…
Love how all these Lions fans are giving us no chance. Cant wait to surprise them.
@@detroitarrow794

Lions are gonna get humbled l. Jayden will take this victory from Detroit.😊
@@5betme 😂 is he gonna beat the lions all by himself?
It's sad because Terry has 4 td's this season, but also 3 fumbles.
Lions injuries are similar to SF. But Goff is better than Purdy and we have 2 great rbs instead of 1 awesome one. Big difference is our togetherness and Will to win.
I think Detroit is gonna use their reputation of going for it on 4th to get some more free 1st downs like they did against Minnesota.
I took the 7.5 Detroit when it first came out, minutes later it moved up 8.5 then now it 9.5!!you know if you know.
I think Commanders will need to score 30 to have a chance. Not easy to do with Lions defense getting healthy and Ford Field going nuts.
Will 45 do?
If the Kicker could actually kick consistently they woulda won by 17 points 😂

Unfortunately not Detroit's year
@IggyJackson I have No problem admitting I was Wrong!!!
Goff the one that played like a rook 😂
Washington had the 27th SOS in the NFL, the Lions had the 6th and went 15-2.

And we can be undone by a running QB.
They also split with Dallas. Off a bye week the Lions beat the cowboys 47-9. Lions just have to bring it on offense. Hopefully we do.

Really? Vikings high powered offense was also supposed to put " tons of points against Lions' banged up defense"! What happened!? Be real guys! Thor is back! No chance for Commanders for more than 17 points!
If Washington doesn’t have a field goal lead at the half, it’s over.
Everyone with eyes can see that CRod needs to be activated. He needs to be starting over BRob or at least McNichols. This is a case of draft pedigree above merit.
If Washington can run the football effectively, they'll win the game !
They don't have to stop the lions offense, just keep them off the field
