I agree. My daughter was raising a niece that she got when the child was three years old. The child just did not act like her biological child, the child has many of the child's father and grandmother. This child was treated like the other children in the home.
It is a combination of both! Our eniroment obviously has influence on us. We are not born wanting Nikes, Gucci bags, or getting turned on by 6 inch heels. Cave women didn't have stripper heels right lol? At the same time, if our genes can make our nose, eyes, and so many other physical features replicas of our parents...why would we not think our nervous and emotional response systems would not be replicated to some degree as well.
nowone has ever argued its one or ther other. Its a matter of degree. But the real question is what abilities and aspects of intelligence are we even talking about. I mean a semi literate high school drop out with a good work ethic probably employs the unemployed PHD graduate (who had 'perfect' parenting) as a labourer.
@megakirby9 I may get murdered for this, but this comment reminds me so much of Inuyasha... Anyway, I agree. If I decide to actually have babies, I wouldn't even need a man. Can we say 'Sperm Bank'?
@xoxoKMAxoxo Yes! I plan on adopting when I marry my future wife... If she wants to have babies, though, I'd be perfectly fine with that, but I think that we should take care of our over-populated orphanages first... Plus, if I marry the girl I want to marry, adoption would be our only option anyway since neither of us is really willing to carry a baby for 9 months and give birth...
nature vs nurture?!? I believe its both, and not just one in particular. I mean just think about it...is it not more logical that both nature and nurture have a roll in the development of a person?
I thought they would have been more specific
Yes but what makes him choose one or the other? What makes him decide to act one way or the other?
Where would I be able to download this clip at?

Yes
i'm only watching this for my homework -.-
@rebelq1 but are these living conditions and the way parents raise kids determined by the parents genes? partially?
"Nature vs Nurture" refers to two opposing sides of a single argument. Are you saying the argument is bogus?
Anyone else here from The College Network?

@rebelq1 that's the nurture side of the debate, duhhh...

I know plenty of gifted students who are on that privately.
Scientists deal in absolutes. . . only the Sith deal in absolutes. Therefore, scientists are the Sith :)

You guys are also learning that in English or it’s just me

That's because the adoptive parents weren't good!
@xoxoKMAxoxo and gay men can always use a surrogate... There are quite a lot of ways for gay couples to have their own children nowadays.

The nature vs nurture argument is over and genes won. Class dismissed.
Yeah, right! (sarcasm)
