This means peeka-boo must be emotionally devastating for a baby.

According to Piaget, object permanence is before 2 years. This is explain why baby like to play "peek a boo"

I went to visit my brother to see my niece with a relative. I was explaining object permanence to him. We saw my niece and Covered our face with our hands, then blatantly peered to the side showing our faces. We then opened our hands where our faces were and the look on her face was "GASP!"

@youthpastornoel I think it's a brilliant video, facinates me! One of Piaget's genius ideas, of course ;)

Nope, there is no specific textbook age--I'd say that it would approach abnormality if they're, say, a year off (3 or up) which would probably be significantly above average, age-wise.

Not if you consider its practicality :P If anything, the simplicity of it emphasizes the principle of babies' lack of object permanence

Object Permanence is obtained sometime in the Sensorimotor stage (birth to 2 years)

Is there a specific age in which children understand object permanence and are there any specific factors that delay this specific milestone?

May I use this video in an online course I teach?
