    So many people are like "Why would reed tell her about black bolt's powers?!" but they were essentially dealing with a hostage situation and had no idea what the scarlet witch could do. It was basically the equivalent of a negotiator saying "we have snipers on the roof, so don't make a move and let the hostage go". Wanda has always telegraphed her attacks with red energy and hand waving, so in their mind it was probably a case of telling her that she can be killed the moment they see a red glow. BB already has his tuning fork glowing, so would in theory be able to take her out the second she begins to do her wiggly-woos. What they didn't except was her being able to remain completely still and re-write reality. All that being said, they should've listened to strange.

    This movie is EXTREMELY overhated in my opinion. It’s not my favorite MCU movie by any means, wouldn’t even crack my top 5. But a lot of the criticisms I’ve seen people provide for this movie since it’s release (not all of, but a high %) seem to be very nit picky criticisms or just things they didn’t like because it’s not what they expected. Now sure you could make genuine criticisms such as pacing, writing choices for certain characters and stuff. But I honestly love the pacing and it feels chaotic, just like the story. And there’s a lot of comics juiciness in this film that not only was relevant here, but MAJORLY setting up the future of the MCU which I loved (from teases to future groups coming in the MCU, Chthon name drop, mention of incursions which is from Hickman’s Secret Wars and so on). I think there’s more complexity to Strange’s arc than some people realize, the consistent theme being about “holding the knife”. Feeling the need to be in control due to his past experiences, but learning to let go of the knife, and relinquish control sometimes. Realizing that he doesn’t always have to hold the knife, due to his travels through the multiverse and learning from his variants experiences. They serve as a self reflection for Strange as a character to grow beyond them at the end. Of course Wanda is amazing as well and had a lot of development cuz well, she’s the co Star and main antagonist lol. Overall in terms of MCU movies I’d probably give it an 8.5/10, and it hovers somewhere around my 8-11 ish area for the MCU projects. I really really do like it a lot for what it was. Was it fully what I was expecting? Definitely not. But I went in with an open mind, not expecting cameos galore and being in like dozens of universes, and as a result I really enjoyed it, and have liked it more every time I’ve watched it

      Yeah l definitely think people overhyped themselves and marvel can be blamed a bit for it the name Multiverse of Madness carries a lot of weight and expectations.
      I feel they bit off too much than they could chew especially with the Illuminati stuff , yeah l was super hyped when l saw all the alternate heroes but looking back they were absolutely not needed and that runtime could have better used in other places.
      I still prefer original Dr.Strange , l still remember absolutely being mind blown with the visuals.

    I went in hoping this would be Sam Raimi leaning heavily into his horror roots so I was more than satisfied that this felt more like a spiritual Evil Dead film (especially Bruce Campbell basically playing an Ash Williams variant that works as a street vendor instead of an S-Mart employee) than a spiritual Spider-Man movie. Of course I wish they did more with the Fantastic Four and X-Men guest stars but I think Raimi remembers how comic book Easter Eggs used to work

    My favorite part was hearing the reorchestrated opening track to X-Men: The Animated Series when Charles arrived. The subtitles marked it as the Theme of X-Men '97. I also liked hearing the little callback to Days of Future Past.
    X-Men '97 is the upcoming reboot/sixth season of the original X-Men 90's cartoon. Most of the original voice cast is returning.
    A Fantastic Four film is in development now. Until recently, MCU Spider-Man director Jon Watts was supposed to direct this new film. Instead, he'll be taking a sabbatical from superhero films until it's time to work on the fourth Spider-Man film. In the meantime, he's also gonna work on a Star Wars project.
    Speaking of Spider-Man, they're gonna bring No Way Home back to theaters this September. This time, it'll be an extended cut known as the More Fun Stuff Version.
    And Black Bolt was from the Inhumans show that unfortunately didn't do very well. However, Mordo said two key words: inhuman and terrigen. That's all the more reason you should check out Marvel's Agents of SHIELD at least in your own time.

    • @bloodyneptune
      @bloodyneptune 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey, at least they bought back the same actor that played Blackbolt on that show, and impolded his head for us. That was satisfying.
      I mean, how can you make CA:TWS and see Sebastian Stan act with almost no lines, and half his face covered half the time, and give one of the best emotive roles in the MCU...then f*cking hire a guy that _must_ have trained at a school for mimes? His facial expressions were so over the top I had to fast forward those parts so I didn't go into a cringe induced _coma_
      And who in the name of holy christ thought the plot should be about a dude overthrowing slave master royals, creating an equal society without slavery, and we're supposed to root for the royals finding a way back to kill him and take everything back? I spent the entire series thinking "well Maximus is a super villain in the comics, his evil ulterior motive will get revealed soon"
      NOPE. He just wanted to end slavery. Sorry, I haven't got to vent about this in years, I think it was so bad I've been traumatized.

    I watched this in theaters twice and it’s such a good movie! The Sam Raimi horror aesthetic and Danny Elfman’s score were just *chef’s kiss*
    “Wong’s Sorcerer Supreme now?” Yeah in No Way Home they said that since Strange dusted Wong became Sorcerer Supreme on a technicality
    When this was announced as a horror movie so many people were like “it’s not gonna be horror, Disney is gonna take control and turn it into a kid’s movie like they always do” and boy was I happy when they got proven wrong. All the old school horror references and cliches in this are so fun
    Jim as Reed Richards was a fan cast and Marvel going through with it made everyone lose their minds. And Patrick Stewart coming back as the 90s animated Professor X was awesome
    Wanda disposing of the Illuminati one by one was so brutal!! Some of my friends hated that they were introduced and then killed off but I thought it was great
    Dude that music fight is the coolest and most creative fight in all the MCU, no one can convince me otherwise
    The mid credits with the Dark Dimension seems to be hinting at a Secret Wars crossover 👀👀
    The post credit scene was yet another trolly one for us who like to stick around til the end. At both showings I went to everyone laughed and had that reaction of “alright, they got us.” Well played Sam Raimi, well played

We can't have "WOMEN CAN"T HANDLE POWER!" and "Interracial marriage is BAD!" if take the "infinite" multiverse concept seriously, don't you know?

    The third eye was done at the very last minute, that's why the CGI wasn't good. Probably was a last minute decision or a highly restricted plot twist so they only told the special effect team very late and they didn't have enough time to perfect the eye. Let's hope for an improved design of the third eye in future movie. And yes i don't think anyone believes Scarlet Witch is dead. As of now, the most convincing theory I read was about the White Vision who's currently roaming around trying to "find himself" might try to bring Wanda back from Wundagore.

  • @BinaryBlitz
    @BinaryBlitz ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Oh man that post credit scene was so underrated by you lol. Bruce Campbell, the one punching himself, was the star in Evil Dead. Funny enough it's kind of why he took a break from acting for a while cause it was just so draining because he went the extra mile for the physical side of things and got tired of literally and figuratively getting him beaten senseless.
    There was a scene in Evil Dead where his head became possessed and he had to lop it off and now in place of the stub is the iconic chainsaw. But while it was possessed it was beating him up (he was being him up lol).
    Anywho that entire scene was totally a call back and I love it. Bruce Campbell is a BAMF, should look into more of his work. Evil dead 1 and 2 were pretty campy but Army of Darkness (Evil dead 3) is the cult classic everyone remembers.

    MoM is such a fun ride. Is it my absolute favourite out of all of the MCU? No. Was I expecting it to be? Also no. But I fairly enjoyed it in the cinema and I'll rewatch it one of these days since it's now on Disney+.
    I understand some people's frustration with Wanda's turnaround after WV, but I honestly thought seeing her basically collapse whole worlds on top of others was conceptually and visually beautiful. And honestly, very satisfying. I'd say Wanda's more villainous side was heavily enhanced by her usage of the Darkhold and I don't believe we'll see her as a full-on villain anymore now that she already pretty much broke free from its corruptive nature by the end of MoM. More like an anti-villain probably. Because yeah, in no way do I believe that she actually died. We never saw her body - that's a major MCU rule. You never know a character is truly dead until you see their corpse.
    I also always thought some characters playing their part in the MCU deserved a good beating, and lookie-lookie, guess Scarlet Witch signed up! My current disappointment is Tony Stark not being able to be there so that he can also have his ass handed to him by her multiple times lmao. I also have like a morbid excitement for the multiverse being destroyed someday, don't exactly know why. Maybe because some critical choices were made in the main timeline, they broke my heart and so now I want things to be undone forever. Uhm yeah, guess that's why...
    Either way...I'm glad she hijacked this movie. I like Stephen, but I'm far from loving him as much as I love her, and I feel like they owed us more huge Wanda moments on the big screen. Consider me pleased! Though, sorry, Strange fans.
    Oh, and America Chavez's introduction was pretty cool too, curious as to how she'll develop along the way. I was pleasantly surprised with the cameos (John as Reed, yaya!), but I don't understand the people who were overly hyped before for those, only to be disappointed again for not getting more. I generally don't understand this mentality that a pretty big bunch of MCU fans have.

    This was an *amazing* film, & I loved every minute of watching it - there were just a few small details that were key to the plot that I wish they handled differently tbh.
    1) I wish they had made it *more* obvious that the Darkhold was influencing Wanda's actions (6:46), to explain why she went on a killing spree (9:04 9:13 18:07 18:48 19:02 20:30 24:32) instead of asking for help/ finding other solutions (6:59 16:19 ).
    I love when a film goes for 'show' instead of 'tell', but they maybe should've used more dialogue to make it abundantly clear - they did such a great job at making Wanda a villain that it seems like many ppl didn't understand how much the Darkhold was corrupting her (many ppl thought they ruined her character arc from WandaVision).
    2) I don't like the new rule/ lore that said all dreams are visions of the multiverse (5:19) - it doesn't explain things like recurring dreams/ flashbacks (i.e. Bucky's/ Tony's PTSD nightmares), & it ruins potential future stories (like the villain Nightmare & the Dream Dimension), etc.

    • @apoorvsingh4459
      @apoorvsingh4459 2 ปีที่แล้ว
