    Fantastic job buddy. As a Brit I find it great that you want to copy the original front number plate (legal requirement removed 1971, totally banned by law 2001, yeah, 30 years, no point in rushing the legislation through obviously!) otherwise known as the "pedestrian castrator". Suggestion, consider refinishing the barrel and inner crank case in black and the outer cases in green as per the Pegasus model. Super cool!

    Wonderful video and great looking job you did on the bike. Would you share with me where you ordered the front headlight visor? I love what you did with the stamped logo.

      I got the headlight viaor from an ebay shop called Enfield Spares. There are lots of them available from various ebay providers.

    Awesome work... the fender mold was a great idea. I'm considering purchasing an REC500/BG. I just sent an email off to the local RE Dealer inquiring about the bike. Hopefully, they have one for me to have a look at...

    Great looking bike well done,The number plate in the front ,I sure the reason they no longer are on bike,is that they act like a blade of some adult or kid walks in front of the bike.

    hi can you tell me fender plate size width length etc bolt fitting size?

  • @MrEye4get
    @MrEye4get 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Many RE accessories made in India has terrible fitment. Angles are incorrect (no consideration to matching) and usually require modifications to fit. I like your leg guards! Searching for a good pair now. Removing the decals can be tricky. Sometimes RE sprays a bit more clear coat over them!

    Where did you get the scramble bars and also what size are the knobby tires you put on?

    • @aaronb.6543
      @aaronb.6543  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The scramble bars are from a local motorcycle supply shop. The front tire is a TKC80 100/90-19 the rear tire is a TKC80 4.00-18.

    Any chance you can let us in on where you got the mirrors from?

    • @aaronb.6543

      I picked up the mirrors from Kapsco Moto. Then I painted them NATO Green. Here is the address... www.kapscomoto.com/ca/black-replacement-mirrors-for-kawasaki-z1000-z750-versys-kle-650-zrx1100-zrx1200.html

    Have you ridden with a passenger? Could you please tell me how the bike performed with two people?

    • @aaronb.6543
      @aaronb.6543  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Riding with a passenger is no problem. It takes a little longer to get up to speed and a little longer to stop. But the handling is just fine with someone on the back.

    I looks great but the front fender number plate here in the Uk would be an MOT failure, as they were removed for safety. IE on a collision with a pedestrian even at 20 Mph could end in a fatality as the plate is a potential knife. Great looking bike otherwise.

      The bike rides great with these tires. On soft roads and on city streets.

    Not a fan of military looking bikes I have to say, but yours looks the biz, 'specially with the knobbies.

  • @otm646
    @otm646 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You were way over thinking the fender plate. You simple drill the hole slightly oversized to accommodate the oval, a 1/16" is all you need. When it comes to the bolt head contact you can use a simple stack of nylon washers with a neoprene washer in the middle to take up the angle. Ideally you'd use a round headed bolt with an internal hex drive.

    • @aaronb.6543
      @aaronb.6543  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Deliberately drilling a hole that's too big to accommodate a poorly designed number plate. Then compensating with a bunch of washers seems kind of like UNDER thinking to me. Three independant posts drilled to the exact size at a perfect right angle was the correct way to do it.
